I particularly liked the friendliness of the hotel staff. They were very pleasant, very friendly and often chatted with me in the bar / reception area. The breakfast was good, lots of choice, and more than enough to satisfy most people.

I couldn't find a telephone in my room, which I found very odd. I think it's the first time ever in all the years of travelling and staying in hotels around the world that I have ever noticed this. Also the fact that there wasn't an iron and ironing board in the room was quite strange. Most hotels seem to have them in each room, even the more modest and cheaper hotels. These were my only negative thoughts about the room.

The Moxy has a completely different approach to hotel décor. It appears the target customer is a young person working away from their normal office. The seating area, shared for meals, is equipped with tables with PC connection points. The rooms have similar connection points but no table space. However, this works well even for retired tourists. Good location for several of Bordeaux's tourist attractions.

The "restaurant" is little more than a poor man's MacDonald's, with a smaller menu and not as tasty micro-wave warmed dishes. However, the Moxy is a short walk (3 minutes) from a food hall with a wide variety of international dishes from great steaks, sea food, Italian, Spanish and Asian food. The Moxy is right between two Tram B stops and it's a long walk for an old couple, but the younger customer will have no problems reaching either Rue Achard or Cité du Vin stops. If you arrive by car, there's nowhere to unload your cases near the hotel. You have to find your way to the Cité du Vin parking and then find your way to the hotel. The hotel is 200 metres walking distance so quite easy if you're young and enjoy solving puzzles.

Really liked how modern the hotel is. Great location, a little bit outside the city centre but right beside excellent transport links. Also loved the food hall that was pretty much next door. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. The rooms were very modern, clean and tidy.

Small rooms for the price No wardrobe space. Strangely no phone in the room - noticed this when we needed to call down to reception. Had to physically get up and go down to reception late at night instead (no big deal). My least favourite thing had to be the bed. It was lovely and big, but sooooo incredibly hard. Both myself and my partner woke up early each morning with terrible aches and pains from it. If only the mattress was a tiny bit softer!

The Staff at the Moxy were exceptional, they really went out of their way to help. One person went above and beyond, she works night shifts, sorry I don't know her name, she speaks great English, as do most of the staff. I was in a predicament, I left my bag in the back of a taxi, I called her and she was able to get in contact with the driver and organise for him to return to the airport, with my bag, which contained my passport. I would have missed my flight, only for her. I can't thank her enough, that is what I call exceptional staff.

The lack of wardrobe. That is all.

The hotel seemed reasonably new as it was very modern, clean and in good condition. The welcome from the staff was excellent, everything explained simply to us. The reception/dining/relaxation area was very modern. The room was a good size with a very big bed. It was clean and had a great view of the harbour. The self-service breakfast was always well stocked in the mornings and had enough range for all tastes to be satisfied. It is a little bit out of the city centre but yet in a very lively, cool area next to a tram stop. It took 11 minutes on the (very regular) tram to get in to the city centre. Overall it was excellent value for money.

The air conditioning was little loud/ineffective but nothing that became intolerable.

We really enjoyed our room. very clean, well equipped room, nice design and very comfortable bed and sound isolation. Everyday cleaning, board games in the lobby. Breakfast was included. Wi-FI connection was ok.

- the view was to the next building, the windows very dirty. - no parking and the nearest one is 15 euro per day - the breakfast was good, BUT there was a great problem with the breakfast management (and this problem totally pissed me off): not enough place in the lobby, people having their breakfast and conference calls at the same place ( really, I have no clue how it is going during the high season), waiting time for the restock of the omelette/ salads etc- 15-20 minutes. And the hotel is located in the suburbs, so there are not so many places to go to have a breakfast.

The staff was great. Everything is very new and the room was really comfortable. It has a hairdryer. It is very well communicated with the historic center by tram (nearest stop is 5min from the hotel) or walking (30min). The neighbourhood was really cool, with things to do and to eat/drink.

There is no parking. However, there is a discount if you park in the Cité du Vin parking (15€/day). Also, there is a public free parking 5 mins away from the hotel, but it is not super big, so it is possible you can't find a spot.

Quirky hotel with very welcoming staff It’s a different concept and we really liked it - much less formal than hotels normally are The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely - liked the storage concept in the rooms - original We liked the ceiling too - minimalist finish as it us in concrere Sheets , pillows and towels all good quality Good choice for breakfast -15euros ( hot and cold ) although little fruit left by 830AM - must have had a lot of guests in before us The area is a couple of km from the centre down by the river - it’s lovely - newly developed and clean with lots of bars and restaurants and green spaces too Very well situated to admire all of wonderfully designed architectural structures and buildings in the area We only stayed one night - would like to have stayed longer - maybe next time !

We think 20 euros a night for a little dog to stay is a lot but then again the room for us humans wasn’t that expensive The staff did however give the dog some treats and gave her a lovely welcome

The room was well designed for sleeping and arranging clothes etc. For example, there were no LED lights on the TV etc that can disturb your sleep at night. Most hotels do not take into consideration how annoying and bright small LED lights can be at night. There was adequate storage space and places to hang clothes.

The only negative thing I can say is that it would have been handy to have a clothes iron in the room, but maybe I could have borrowed one from the front desk if I'd asked.

Funky hotel. Young, laid back, modern, graffiti style. Location is in a newly built hotel area on the port, next to the City du Vin (slightly off city centre). Small, but comfortable rooms. Comfortable bed. Ok breakfast. Eventually fun atmosphere. Parking is round the corner (15 EUR / day is actually cheap for Bordeaux).

Rooms rather on the small side, but comfortable.
