Breakfast was really good and fresh. Croissants, Pain au chocolate, ham & cheese and bread. As well as yoghurt, coffee and tea. Nothing to complain. The whole Hostel was clean and spacious, s.t. it was also pleasant to sit in the common area to work. Room was good and the beds had curtains.

I didnt like the music and noise level in the common area sometimes during the day as it was a bit too loud for zoom calls.

I had stayed two nights at Bacalan Hostel. I was on my city escape and booked shortly before my arrival to Bordeaux. I was impressed by the facilities which had been offered to us. The Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The breakfast had a wide range of foods and drinks. The Cafe was well stocked. Also, the gym was well equipped in case of free time to do. The hostel was clean with enough space in the common area lounges. There is no any fridge to keep your food in the common area. If you need to get to the rail station or airport you have to plan enough time , because one of the bridges to the marina Bordeaux may be lifted and you need to divert the route through another one. The hostel is very close to three important points at Bacalan to see: 1. The City of Vin - 18 museums, 2.The Hales of Bacalan - where there are over 20 stalls of cooked foods and many tables to sit and have lunch or dinner. 3. Galerie D' Art and the Garden of Les Vivres De L'art ( Le domaine du possible) just across the tram lane.

The metal blinds which I did not know how to lift. There is no any fridge to keep a little food in the common area.

Although the location is outside of the city center, however, it is a quick connection via tram B. Very quiet neighboud. Nice dining area indoor and outdoor. En-suite bathroom inside the room, toilet and shower areas are seperated and they are outside the sleeping area. Has charging socket and bed light per bed. Curtain is available. Each bed has two lockers plus a drawer.

There is no air-con in the room but a floor fan. However, the feet of the floor fan are broken, so the fan is lean on the sink (there is sink in the sleeping area and also a sink in the shower area inside the room). It is not usable. During my stay, it was very hot and difficult to sleep without air-con and fan.

Modern hostel, has all you might expect from a hostel. Also lockers with a code (included in the reservation) for you bags. the room on the 5th floor was rather quiet with closed windows. It was also climatized. The ground floor is a big common area. The location (close to cité du vin in bobostan) is not that incredible but it is good connected with the tram line.

The mattress and a fixed covering over it were not clean (they most likely do not clean it every time. the bed sheet was indeed washed but had some stains on it, which left a bed impression. Otherwise quite clean

Cool hostel! Everywhere it was clean. The staff is very friendly. The beds are very comfortably organized with your own light and charging source. Also you have a curtain which gives you some privacy. Everything is very good thought and reasonable. It's located not in the city center, but close, near the river. You'll find supermarkets, means of transport and restaurants close-by. I walked from the train station through the city center to get there. It's also possible, if you like to walk and have enough time.

On the Google maps the location wasn't quite exact. I had to ask people to find the hostel.

I recently stayed at Whoo Hostel in Bordeaux during a work trip, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly and professional staff, who made check-in a breeze. The facilities at this hostel are top-notch, providing everything a traveler could need, whether you're here for business or leisure. There's a laundry room and an ironing board, good wifi, air conditioning on the ground floor (it was 41 degrees in Bordeaux during my stay !) The atmosphere at Whoo Hostel is truly unique – a great balance of vibrant energy and relaxed comfort. The communal areas are beautifully designed, offering enough space to work in the coworking room, unwind on the sofas, and socialize on the terrace. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, which was essential for my work needs, and I found the workspace to be both comfortable and conducive to productivity. My dorm was spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail in every aspect of the hostel, from the cozy bedding to the thoughtful amenities provided - like the little shelf to put your phone and glasses beside the bed. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and all the main attractions of Bordeaux. I hopped on a tram from St Jean train station and was at the hostel in no time. One of the highlights of my stay was the social atmosphere. Even though I was traveling for work, I felt a strong sense of community among the guests, and the hostel's events made it easy to connect with fellow travelers. It's clear that the team at Whoo Hostel has put a lot of effort into creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. They spend time getting to know each and every guest, joking, laughing, listening. They're really great fun.

It was unfortunate that I had to leave so soon and couldn't spend more time with the staff :D I would have loved to meet them under different circumstances.

Super atmosphere, bar, food court, work stations, free luggage storage. I didn't realize till I get there but since they also provide private accommodation (dormitory like) for student semesters around, pretty much whole facility designed and maintained based on that. Which means super attentive staff, clean facilities, geeking/studying fellows. Genuinely lovely atmosphere. Bed are comfortable, has curtains and one power and one USB-A socket. Easy check-in and out, highly secured. There are even cupboards with 4-digit keylock which its code is printed on your keycard. All in all deserves its money! Merci!

It is not a big con but location is not ideal. Considering a super duper, open air, futuristic bar-like designed art gallery and La Cité du Vin are so close, I should't to mention about location at all. However, while you're on your way to airport and when you realized there is an issue on tramlines and it is a common thing than you would expect , then location becomes an important aspect. Soap. I mean they aren't lack of it but its quality is inferior. Doesn't match with the experience.

The hospitality is great, lovely people 👌 Friendly staff, safe location 😁

That I have to do the bedsheets and everything myself, felt unhygienic touching the mattress and the pillow and blanket without the new sheets... Some people start living there which is uncomfortable like getting into someones territory But overall good because you get toilet and shower separate in the room + you have another one in the hall so the hygiene there is great and fresh new toilet/ showers

I stayed for 4 days and had a great stay. The room, bathrooms, and common area downstairs were always cleaned and the staff was friendly. There isn’t a kitchen but they do have a microwave and utensils you can use so at least you can heat up some food. The location was also nice and despite there being a bar right outside, it was always pretty quiet in the room. The hostel is in a good location near the tram, citĂ© du vin, and many other places

Everything was good!

The beds are comfortable with each having their own curtain. There are 2 lockers to use and the bathroom is inside the room. The lobby area is also a café and a coworking space so there are a lot of spaces to work or just to relax. There's no kitchen but there are microwaves and utensils free to use. The baggage storage is free to use as well.

The location is very close to the famous Cité du Vin but pretty far from anywhere else. The perfume products that they use all around the place smell weird.
