If I could rate this place 100 out of 10, I would. The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. All the small details are thought of. It feels like you enter a movie when enter the territory. Art, books, antiques - all that plus a stunning view of the village. Our room was super spacious and our bathroom was so vast and comfortable (with a shower and a bathtub!!!). Breakfast is a gastronomic adventure itself! Highly recommend! Will come back 100%.

Such a unique place. Beautiful, authentic, very welcoming. Villa is located in a very good place, everything is available in a walk distance. The personal of the hotel was very nice, helpful and friendly. We got a bigger room with a sea view (instead of garden view) and the room was such a gem. Also, breakfast was great: a variety of bread, cheese and jams. Also, fresh juice and eggs
Everything was great. We had a bit language barrier (we don’t speak French), but at the breakfast a lovely couple from Germany, helped us with a translation.

The location is very good. The welcome to the hotel was very good as was the breakfast which was served by a very friendly helpful young lady. The decor of the rooms was good with interesting pictures on the walls. The outside terrace was perfect for sitting and observing the view. The bathroom and toilet were good.
As the hotel is older the following comments are a fact of life. From the car park to the rooms there are lots of steps and the interior staircase is fairly narrow. The room floors creak as you walk which means if other people are moving about their rooms you can hear them.

The Castel de la Terrasse was absolutely charming and quaint, and I loved everything about our stay! The host was SPECTACULAR and greeted us at the door when we arrived close to the cut off time late at night. She gave us a map and showed us what restaurants were still open and provided my husband with instructions to drive up the hill so it would be easier for him to carry up our luggage. Each morning the breakfast was an incredible delight to walk down to and always included a fresh assortment of breads, croissants, butter, farm fresh eggs cooked anyway you like, and fresh squeezed orange juice. It was truly the perfect start to each day we spent there. The food was always fantastic and so were our conversations with the other guests and our hostess. I feel like I found a hidden gem and I miss everything about Castel de la Terrasse. It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
There really isn't anything I can think of that I didn't like but I will point out a couple of items to watch out for. Because the Castel is old it does not have an elevator so pack accordingly. Our stay was in mid-March and the temperature was cool so I enjoyed opening the windows whenever we were in our room to feel the cool fresh air and to hear the seas in the distance. I don't believe there is central air conditioning in the Castel but I believe the temperatures are mild in the summer so this is likely fine. However, a fan might be necessary for some individuals.

From the moment we arrived and until our departure, everything was impeccable. The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom, with huge french windows providing lots of light, fresh air, and sea view. The bedding and towels were spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast is served “french style” on a huge terrace, which can also be used to enjoy sunrise. The host gave us lots of recommendations in terms of restaurants and hikes and accommodated all our requests. I would book this property again without hesitation!
Check in at 5 pm but I believe there is a reason behind that - the hotel is serviced by a only few people which gives the property the “homey” vibe. Late check-in should not defer anyone from booking the property, it is wonderful regardless!

beautifully kept, retaining a lot of period features. with very attentive staff. the owner was lovely, helped us a lot with restaurants and tourist information
trying to find it. our sat nav kept trying to take us up the one way street next to the hotel. after a lot of driving around the streets, we found the entrance. you cannot see the hotel from the road as it has a lot of green art around. the red gates were open but couldn’t read the sign Castel de la Terrasse Jean baptist Cochin is abbreviated as J B Cochin on road sign no mention of number 1. It very confusing. a small diagram map would have been helpful.

Beautiful property and superb location for exploring Etretat. The hotel is beautifully decorated and unique with a lovely terrace. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was also lovely.
Everything was great however the cockerel in the garden woke us up from 5am which was a little annoying and the toilet in our bathroom didn’t refill very quietly or quickly. We had our windows open a lot and as it was windy so they needed latches to stay in place but there weren’t any.

Cozy room with amazing sea view and outstanding furnishing. Good breakfast with homemade butter and freshly pressed orange juice, delicious baguettes and tasty camembert. Free parking space, close to the bakery, La Flottille - best restaurant in town, the beach, so a very convenient location. Hosts were also very friendly and they do speak English and French. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Location is perfect. Bed is the best yet during our, so far, 4 weeks of travel throughout France. The included breakfast, in front of the burning fireplace, is also THE best. And, the room was immense. This place, though not inexpensive, is 100% worth the cost. We spent 3 nights. Great place!!
There is absolutely nothing to dislike unless you are put off by climbing steps. But, if you are willing to do stairs, this will be your favorite stop.

Villa looked beautiful from outside and inside. The view from our window to the see and Etratet was so beautiful. The room we lived was spacious and nicely decorated and in bathroom there was comfortable bathtub. The eating space and also the library downstairs were amazingly decorated with nice furniture and we would have liked to use it more. The breakfast was good. The location was very convenient as the hotel was very close to the centrum and beach. The host was helpful and nice and gave as a lot of advices where to eat whet to do etc.
We just stayed one night.
