Loved our view of the bay from our window! It was nice to be close to the entrance to Le Mont Saint Michel. Breakfast and dinner were also close by. The reception people were very helpful and kept our luggage for us while we visited the Abby before our room was ready. The room was fairly quiet.
Sadly, it can’t be fixed and it is tough on old bodies, but stairs. After climbing all the stairs at the Abby, more stairs to get to our room was very tough. It’s not that we didn’t like it, but that some travelers need to be aware of it.

clean, comfortable, spacious room and nice bathroom.
FYI - there are a lot of stairs at this property and everywhere in Mont St Michel. I would recommend taking only what you need for your stay on the island as you will have to carry your luggage to the island and up many stairs.

The location is unbelievable, in this season (January) the Mont Saint Michel felt like it was only for us!
the rooms have been kept in the very basic style of their origin, I was expecting a little more comfort (a ceiling light, a softer heater than the electric radiator burning under the cold window...). And as for the restaurant, 38€ for the omelette salad is a bit much, even if the omelette is quite good. But overall, great experience!

We had a room with a view over the causeway right near the entrance, it was fantastic view and after the crowds had gone at night and in the morning (before 7am) it was idyllic. Suite was quite large for such a small town.
The breakfast was terrible, it wasn't particularly busy but the single person doing breakfast was overwhelmed. We had to sit at a table with other peoples leftovers on it, around half of the items on the buffet were empty and were refilled at a glacial speed, we even had to ask the waitstaff for glasses as they were not provided for the self service drinks. Every time the single bottle of water was refilled there was a rush from the 8 tables to fill up their glass before it was empty again and another 20 minute wait for the next refill. But you know what, the view was great and we can overlook a lot because of it.

Staying on Mont Saint Michel is an amazing experience. We had a room with the view of the abbey and we really enjoyed it. Also the spirit of the hotel is nice.
The room equipment was outdated but we took it as a part of the charm of this historical place. The worst part of the stay was the breakfast which was really horrible. We came in the middle of serving time and there was almost nothing left. Empty egg container, few sad slices of salami, overriped blackened banans, broken coffee machine... And the service was kind but very slow and totally clueless. In a place that boasts the most famous omelette in France it's really disappointing.

Staying on the island is definitely a splurge experience, so go big for one or two nights, and don't expect any bargains. Everything here is easily 2x - 3x what you would spend across the bay on the mainland, so just don't look at the bill, and have a wonderful experience. We stayed in two adjacent rooms for one night with views to the bay, and it was absolutely spectacular to watch the sun set and the tide rush in and surround the island. We also enjoyed the massive omelettes in the La Mere Poulard restaurant for dinner, and it was likewise a very memorable experience. And the views after dark of the floodlit cathedral after all the day trippers had left was absolutely incredible. The staff that greeted us during check-in was also extremely friendly and accommodating, and the hotel arranged an early breakfast just for the 4 of us the next morning since we had early train reservations that day. I would recommend this splurge experience to anyone, again just come in with your expectations calibrated, and have a great time!
This is not necessarily a complaint, just reality. If you come here to see the massive cathedral, and/or stay at this hotel, get ready to CLIMB!!! Dozens of steps up to the cathedral. Dozens of steps inside the cathedral. Dozens of steps up to the hotel, and (for the best views) dozens more up three flights of stairs to get to the rooms. Again, the staff was very accommodating, and carried as much of our luggage as they could. But, just fair warning, don't try this if you're not in reasonably good shape, or you could be sorry!

Breakfast was included, and it was great!. In some ways the hotel is showing it's age (curtains, etc.) but it was overall a pleasant stay. Seeing photos of dignitaries and stars that had stayed at the hotel was fun.
The design of the bathroom shower did not include a door or curtain. We were reluctant to shower, expecting the floor to get wet. The double bed consisted of two single mattresses placed side by side.

Location right off the main street was excellent, and convenient to escape the shoulder-to-shoulder wall of people. Directions and reviews on the internet were important to learn before booking. Room 36 has a view of the abbey above, but its window must be closed to avoid birds/bugs entering, and curtains drawn in daytime to give privacy from the people on the road.
Bathtub needed upgrading, glass panel in bathtub was loose and water drain was very slow, almost seemed like it was plugged.

Great location, comfortable room with large windows looking out over the garden and rooftops. Nicely decorated, and a good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. The hotel is slightly worn out by the very high volume of short-stay visitors, but in a rather charming way.
Obviously you are paying a premium to stay on the island, so in that sense it isn't the best value for money. However, if you are prepared to pay the premium for staying on the island, which I recommend, then it is a very nice place to stay.

The hotel is right at the entrance of village, so you cannot miss it. The View from the hotel is magnificent . The staff is very professional. The breakfast is very good. The rooms were clean.
There is a LOT of stairs to be walked just to get to the room. The hotel needs to be updated, it shows a little wear and tear. There is a quick access to the beach which is good and bad. Because people bring sand in. there should be a door mat so they can wipe it off their shoes, so they don’t drag the sand into the corridor and the rooms.
