Despite many adventures in Berlin, my stay at the Hotel Generator was great, especially thanks to the great staff of the hotel. My first room before had a very unpleasant smell (it's not the fault of the hotel which is clean + with good cleaners). I asked if it was possible to change rooms and the reception accepted without hesitation, I was even upgraded! The rooms are large and bright, you have electricity and lights in each bed, the organization for checking in and going to your room is very practical. You also have a big garden to chill outside. A special thank you to Oliver, a receptionist who took care of me when I fell ill, who did not hesitate to call an ambulance and who gave me chocolates to help me and cheer me up, that really helped me :) The security guard that evening also stayed with me for a long time outside so that I could get some fresh air.

There is no kitchen, which is important to know if you're traveling on a budget and hoping to cook your own food. You can always ask for boiling water at the reception to make you noodles or other. It's a detail that we may not notice in the booking ad, it was my mistake.

location was great (well connected and near to where i needed to be), staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and comparing to other rooms available at that time in the area, the price was very good too. there's a shop located right outside, fast food nearby, and the entry to the tram also 2 minutes away, which is very convenient. everything perfectly suited what i was hoping for during the trip -- quiet, easily reachable place where i could work during the day and come back only to sleep during the night. easily recommendable, if you're just looking for a nice room, but nothing fancy

the bathroom/shower were a bit cramped, and angled awkwardly, which wasn't super comfortable. also, i expected the room to be a tiny bit bigger - the space at the foot of the bed made it hard to get to the other side without climbing over the bed altogether. also, some guests would get quite loud in the evenings, but there's nothing that can be done about that. also, not sure if it was guests or some safety feature, but the door handle was tried every single night of the stay, which would make me jump. overall, all of these are minor issues, and didn't really affect my stay.

In rooms are comfortable temmerature and radiatirs work - so you can easily dry your clothes. Hot water for shower. Big lobby-where you can work or chill. Totally appreciated!

Everything great, just little nuances - sometimes could be noisy at lobby because of many people (but great music). And in bathroom little confused with 2 separate working faucets in washbasin - hot and cold water that not mixed with each other. But that`s no matters generally :)

The rooms were clean and it was easy to find them. The hallways and lobby were clean and organised. While the bathroom was tiny, it was clean and had what was needed. The easy access to public transit was an absolute delight. The ventilation in the room was adequate and the windows could be opened for fresh air. The room's size has been optimised. We were in rooms 115 and 116. Having to be either buzzed in or use your keycard regardless of the time of day was a nice security measure, along with the security guards being present at all times.

The shower head was placed at an awkward angle, had a very narrow spray and couldn't be moved, which made it troublesome to shower. The actual shower space was cramped, squeaky and slippery, but it's manageable.

Good location. Maybe the cleanest hostel I've ever slept in. The staff is nice, some of them are incredibly nice.

There was a big difference between men and women showers on our floor (6), found out asking my boyfriend. So in the women's shower there was no possibility to brush the teeth and wash the face or hands with warm water, because for every sink there were two far separated taps (one with almost iced water and another with almost boiling). And even though the shower was really clean, it was pretty uncomfortable because there was no shower head, only some holes and water was just splashing out of it. In the men's shower everything was adequate.

Very good place to stay for a few days, the room was small but had everything we needed. The drawers underneath the bed for storing our stuff and the hangers, place for the cosmetics in the bathroom. They provided fresh towels everyday and changing the bedsheets was on request. Public transport connections were very good, tram and S-bahn stations were really close. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall for the price paid I think it’s definitely worth it.

The noise in the corridor was too loud, plus one night my neighbors had a party at 5 am and they were playing music. The rooms are badly soundproofed and you can hear everything. Without earplugs it is impossible to sleep in peace.

location very near s-bahn and tram station, hostel very very big it’s like a hotel actually, equipped with elevators & security key to room & even bathrooms. female dorm room are very nice, young and lively people, clean, and quiet.

no kitchen & no outside food & drink allowed. shower room very dirty in the men room, you can find urine and feces everywhere ugh. tap water tasted strange. check in queue was long & my room was not ready even though it’s already 2 pm. access cards can not be near your phone, otherwise it won’t work anymore. staffs not the friendliest, they handled many people so their moods fluctuates, they didn’t even said a word when i gave my keys back.

The hostel room was spotless, everything so clean and also worked fine. I liked that it was safe and no problems with the card. One can enter only one’s room and floor with the card. All the facilities were good, it was a pleasant temperature in the building, even if it was hot outdoors. The receptionists are very polite, professional, and friendly. They answered all my questions and told me all the important information for my stay. The check-in and check-out processes were uncomplicated with them and very quick. Anything extra like shower gel, shampoo, conditioner is all 1-2€. You can hire a towel for €6. Can rent a bike (with €100 deposit so you don’t lose it) Big bunker locker under your bed which you will need a padlock for Use the staff for recommendations and for anything else- they were so so helpful

Not bang in the centre but everything is well within reach. Get your head round the tram and you’ll be fine. Also for the price it is so worth it (over the Alexanderplatz generator) we were expecting dire conditions for the price but it was honestly brilliant !

The location is good und 3-5 minutes from S-Bahn train station that can take you everywhere in Berlin. Big supermarkets in the location, where you can find all you need. The room size was ok and the bathroom was not bad.

There was only one elevator for 7 floors with many rooms!! The other elevator was out of work. My room was in the 6th floor and I needed each time about 3-5 min. When I wanted to go up or down “which was a little bit silly”!!! The room cleaning can be better. There was only 2 persons in reception “sometimes only 1 person” for such a big hostel with a many guestes, which made always queues in reception and take a long time always in reception. “There wasn’t a place even to wait or sit in the reception and you should stand in the queue”.
