I spent Easter weekend in Berlin with some friends. as their flight back was one day ahead of me, I was looking for a hotel to stay at for an extra night for a low price. I was able to nab a very good price at the Hotel Niu Flash. The property is brand new, very modern and stylish. The bed in particular was very comfortable. The hotel also has a very inviting reception with a 24/7 bar where they also serve breakfast in the morning. My room rate did not include breakfast, but it looked tasty. The staff are both numerous and attentive.

The location is not very central - the next door neighbour is an Audi dealership. Having already spent the weekend in Berlin, I didn’t care where the hotel was located so it was not a concern to me. There are bus stops nearby that will get you into the city in approximately 20 minutes and - to be fair - most places in Berlin are at least a 20 minute commute away because the city is so vast. What matters most is that the neighbourhood is safe - which was definitely my impression.

The room was modern, cleanly decorated, and had many thoughtful touches in the room. The TV bluetooth connection allowed you to connect your phone to watch cast videos and play music. There was also a bluetooth connection for the bathroom mirror so that you could listen to music. There was a safe, and an open storage arrangement to unpack luggage and spread out or store it. I particularly liked the bedding at the Niu (I stayed at 2 sites during this whole trip) and has a home feeling to the bedding rather than just being a hotel. There is a cool air circulation system (didn't seem to be air con) but definitely helped to have that circulate on the particularly hot days. There was also external roller shutters on the window to keep out the heat of the day, or all the light for the nighttime. to get a true blackout sleep, The road it is on is quite quiet and seems to be office and corporate locations - no resturants on the same road for eg but some close by. There is a good sized supermarket on a parallel road perhaps a 10min walk where you can buy refridgerated drinks. Hotel staff were always happy to supply me with ice during my stay, and was a bar available. I had breakfast one of the days and whilst it seemed expensive compared to other countries, it seemed to be priced fairly for Germany. It had a good selection of hot and cold food, and was easily organised ad-hoc during my stay. I understand that the hotel can also provide other food/snacks for guests, not really as a restaurant, but I did not try any of this. The closest S-Bahn/U-Bahn stations were about 10-15mins walk in 2 directions. I hired the electric bikes during my stay and found that easier to explore berlin on with the nice weather. And because of the corporate surroundings, there was always plenty available to rent nearby.

The rooms are equip with very heavy firedoors with poor dampeners on the close. Everytime somebody in rooms on the same wall let the door swing shut, it would shake the room and slam, and it was very irritating in the late evening or early hours. Room would have been improved with a fridge, possibly full air conditioning too, but the absence was more notable with the very hot weather, which I dont think would be an issue under typical weather conditions. I was never too warm in the room. Location is a bit further from the public transport connections compared to some other choices, but I feel the luxury of the hotel offset that inconvenience.

Another nice Niu Hotel in Berlin. Very clean, good value for money, and noon check-out is always nice. Bed was comfy, room was quiet, what more do you need? I have stayed with Niu several times now and they offer a consistently above-average standard for budget hotels.

The hotel was understaffed. Long line for check-in with only a single employee handling everything. A bit far from public transport, but that keeps the cost down so not a complaint. Just something to keep in mind.

i had stayed in the niu hotel in dusseldorf and loved my stay there, so i booked the room in niu berlin for a last minute trip, thinking about my previous stay in the other branch. the facilities are brand new and the beds are one of the most comfortable i've ever slept in. i only wished the pillows were softer, but that's a taste issue. the room was stylishly furnished, bathroom was big. staff were helpful, and if you opt to skip room cleaning you get 1 free drink voucher per night which is very kind.

i realised the location was not the best for my trip. the hotel is located in an office and industrial area, which makes this the ideal place for a work trip. it's still a stretch to walk to the closest U-banh and train station, so i would not recommend it for travellers who are looking for a lively environment nearby.

Excellent breakfast, really good beds, very nice rooms although a bit small, very nice and modern bathrooms, a bar open until late, and cherry on the cake, a free drink at the bar every time you ask for not doing your room.

My only drawback is the geographical position : it is more than 1 km from the closest S or U-Bahn. For me, no problem, I like to walk but if you need to go somewhere, plan it and add 10-12 mins easily to your journey.

The hotel was amazing! The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. The bathroom mirror had speakers, same in the room so you can play music wherever you are. Breakfast was delicious and they even made me a small bag with some snacks at checkout because I left very early and couldn’t take the normal breakfast at the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Overall I will stay here again whenever I visit Berlin and would definitely recommend it.

Close to the Tiergarten Sbahn station (1 km walk) in a calm neighborhood. NextBikes were available close by the hotel. If you don't require room service you can get a free drink.

They overcharged me for doing the check in at the reception instead of online, even though their online check in did not work for me, it froze during payment. If you have limited mobility the hotel is probably a bit far away from public transport stops.

The location is fine if you like it quiet, but it is quite a trek to the nearest U-Bahn, and the bus connections are not brilliant. The staff create a very relaxed atmosphere, which I appreciated. Breakfast was good - real tea, I mean loose-leaf!

As I said, the location is not brilliant. The rooms were OK, but the hotel has been built in the minimalist style where design is more important than facilities, so there is no cupboard to put or hang clothes. The bare light-bulb feature was not for me...
