This hotel exceeded my expectations. I’ll be honest, due to Oktoberfest other preferred options were not available, so I was choosing primarily based on location. While the hotel feels/looks pretty old, everything was very neat and clean. All staff members were very kind and helpful. Room was big enough and bed was comfortable. Breakfast didn’t have hot food options, but everything was fresh, including croissants, cold cuts, vegetables, etc., so very decent for a small breakfast. Coffee was veg good too!

Internet was extremely slow, it did work, but with big delays. Shower only had 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash, but as a girl I desperately needed hair conditioner, would have been great to have it.

Perfect location—close to Munich’s historic center as well as the more modern area around the Pinakothek museums and the Technical University. The neighborhood is calm, clean, and quiet enough to sleep with the windows open—truly European in character. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just right to start the day: good coffee, fresh bread, and a nice variety of flavors to choose from. I only wish I could have stayed a little longer

There was no air conditioning in the room (at least in the one I stayed in). The high ceilings made it a bit better, but a fan would have helped a lot.

The staff was exceptional. They were warm, kind and helpful. The location was perfect! Twenty minute walk to almost everything. Neighborhood felt good and easy to walk through at midnight, also quiet enough to be comfortable with all windows open (no a/c). The lack of a/c was not a problem for us, but it was in the 70’s (20C) and cooled to high 50’s at night. Breakfast was excellent with unique offerings including the famous white sausage (Weisswurst). We stayed in the apartment, which is very large and comfortable including a kitchenette and dinette area. Also had TWO toilets! If you can get over the 1960’s carpet, this is actually a wonderful stay!

The hotel is within short walking distance to the city center. Quite a large and spacious room, the building has high ceilings and large windows. During our visit a breakfast was not offered, however, they gave a kettle upon request. There is a very nice cafe 30 m away where you can have breakfast. To get parking, you need to write to the hotel in advance so that they can issue a permit for parking on the nearby streets. It is quite possible to find a place to park. The staff is very friendly.

The furniture may not be the most modern, but it is decent and in a good condition. However, our fridge looked dead and we kept our medicine between the window shutters as it was cold outside. So we didn't bother the staff about the non-working fridge.

I needed an emergency passport to replace one I had lost. This place looked close, so I booked it. It was a 10-minute walk to the American Consulate General. That was the practical reason I booked. But when I arrived, I was blown away by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The lady at the front desk was terrific! It felt like I was kind of staying "at home!" I cannot recommend the Hotel Carlton enough.

Hotel close to the university and to the metro station Unoversitat. Nice place, the room was big enough, confortable and clean. European breakfast, abundant and interesting selection of dishes. Personnel always present to assit you.

A door in the middle of the wardrobe takes you in the bathroom: a narrow room with no window. It was not really a problem, just strange.

The breakfast is amazing! The location in the heart of Munich is also very good, 5 minutes away from the Universität metro. The street is very calm, my room was facing an inner court, so it was quite silent. Last but not least, the staff was adorable :)

The place is from the 60s and you can really tell it. Some features of the decoration have not been changed ever since, which may annoy some people. However, the important features have been updated (beds, tv, desk)

We were on the top floor during 3 very hot days in Munich with no air conditioning. Was challenging at times- hotel were sympathetic and provided us with fans. Would be a great , roomy suite if weather was cooler.

Centrally located. Close to a cafe, for drinks and breakfast. Walking distance of 10 mins to underground train station.

Tiny little TV with limited channels. The top floor suite hasn't been occupied for a while, perhaps the hotel would consider airing the suite prior to guests checking in. The air was really stuffy when we checked in.

Internet is very weak. It's a hotel nice if you want to stay near the center without the stress of being in the city center. It's a old hotel but decent to stay with an incredible staff.
