Location: On the southwest edge of the old town, a very short walk from Sendlinger Tor U-Bahn station. If walking, it is 10 mins up Sendlinger Strasse to reach Marienplatz or 15 mins up Sonnenstrasse to the Hauptbahnhof. It is a quieter area which is nice for sleep but means that you won't find many restaurants right outside your door. Breakfast: Comfortable breakfast area with a full European spread (scrambled eggs, sausage, cold cuts, cheeses, various breads, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juices, etc). I think it is served until 10am. Comfy bed with a lot of pillows, windows, curtains & floor fan: You could control the light, air, and even white noise for excellent sleeping. Front desk: 24-hr service and old-timey care like keeping your key while you are gone. The reception area has a healthy supply of city maps.

Incorrect Signage. A prominent sign in the elevator said the rooms would not be cleaned due to COVID so I didn't bother putting out the Do Not Disturb sign. When I returned, the room had been cleaned. I would have preferred that no one enter. Also, a sign in the room said the minibar had been removed but that snacks were available in the bar. When I inquired about the snacks they said there was no food at the bar. This was annoying because all food shops in Munich close at 8pm.

I booked this hotel because it was relatively cheap (Munich is expensive), and I had seen a few bad reviews, so was pleasantly surprised to arrive. The hotel is small but fully serviced, with really helpful staff. The stairway to the rooms is the only bit of the building that looked a bit tired (and that was still fine). My room (a single) had a large bed and ensuite, that were clean and well presented. The view into an internal courtyard was not one I particularly liked, but I hadn't asked for (or paid for) anything else! Breakfast was a standard German affair, but plenty of it and very good. Wifi in my room was consistently over 170mbps (very, very, fast) and the beer from the Hotel bar really cheap (by Munich standards).

Rooms don't have aircon - I was there in quite a cool period and the room was still quite warm (although there was a fan, and I've definitely stayed in worse). Worth bearing in mind, though if that is a deal breaker.

Playa Del Sol, nestled in the heart of Maspalomas, was an unforgettable retreat. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and kindness. The staff was not only exceptionally friendly but also impressively knowledgeable about the area, ensuring that we made the most of our visit to this beautiful corner of the world. As for the accommodation itself, Playa Del Sol was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Every detail, from the cleanliness of the rooms to the upkeep of the public spaces, spoke volumes about the level of care and dedication invested by the management team. But what truly sets Playa Del Sol apart is its prime location. Conveniently positioned, it was the perfect base for exploring Maspalomas. The beach was about a 45 minute walk, but closer by, in Yumbo, were the many great shops and good local restaurants that make Maspalomas such a unique destination. Playa Del Sol, Maspalomas, is more than just a place to rest your head; it's a haven of tranquility that offers a truly immersive and enjoyable experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any traveler seeking a memorable stay in Maspalomas.

I know this hotel from many visits under its old name and have always loved the location near Sendlinger Tor: easy to get to, very central yet on the quiet side. you can walk right into the pedestrian zone. My room faced an inner courtyard, lovely quiet. A cozy little breakfast room with a very good variety of items, warm and cold. Rooms showed nice redecorations, calm feeling, good double bed.

really nothing but I would personally like to see fresh fruit for the breakfast buffet as the price is a bit high for a buffet breakfast.

The hotel’s location was perfect for sightseeing in Munich town center; a short walk to the Old City (and Hofbrauhouse!). The breakfast was outstanding, including normal German breakfast of sliced cheeses, meats, breads and yogurt, plus even an American heavy scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage links. The room was clean and very nice. We were able to park in the inner courtyard, but there is a parking garage around the corner. A little pricey but it is what it is in the big city. Overall a most enjoyable stay.

Andrea at the reception (for 34 years! Was really amazing and helpful. The location was spectacular- a 10 min walk to Marienplatz or Karslplatz and located on a very quiet street. The room was comfortable (slightly larger than typical rooms in europe - which was very good as we were two friends travelling together). We booked a double room and asked for two separate beds which they were able to provide too. bonus - it had a bathtub too.

All good!

We had our 6 month old baby with us. The hotel stored our baby food, heated it for us and gave us hot water whenever we needed it. They also provided a travel cot for the baby. I'm usually wary of travel cots as they can often be in poor condition but this travel cot was excellent. It was very clean and comfortable. Our baby slept the whole night through. Room was very clean. Our beds were very comfortable. It was quiet during the night and we slept very well. Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly. Great location. Excellent value for money. We would stay there again.

The only down side is the elevator but we knew about this beforehand so it was not an issue.

Hotel Altmunchen is a great place for a few days. It's location is perfectly poised between the old town and all its business and a cool local.neighbourhood with fantastic restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good value and quality. The bedroom was welcoming, clean and quiet. Nippy wi-fi

There's not a lot to dislike at Hotel Altmunchen: for a few days in Munich it's great value in a great location with transport links to where is needed. Twin beds for a couple isn't the best

Quite a simple basic hotel room, but very clean, with good shower and comfy bed. Superb location.

Housekeeping could be improved The liquid soap container over the sink was empty, so had to use the soap in the shower. When towels were replaced I was given a hand towel to replace the bath towel. Only one pillow, where two would have been nice. I didn't raise these things with hotel because didn't want to waste my short break complaining. I'm sure if I'd have mentioned it things would have been rectified but why not get these simple things right in first place??. They are the sort of things that niggle.

Due to covid restrictions breakfast required specifiying time and food in advance. It was a bit limiting, but breakfast itself was nice
