I have been staying at this hotel for many years and will always return to it for 2 main reasons: location and personable staff.

When we request a baby cot, it’s almost never there when we show up. We arrived at 9:30pm, and the cot was set up in our room, as was the sofa bed, all set up and ready for us! The location could not have been better. 7-8 minutes quick stroll to Marienplatz, and 2 minute walk to the Viktualienmarkt. The staff was lovely and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing, especially as we arrived at 9:30pm NYE, when everything was closed and then all New Year’s Day everything was closed too, so we would really have struggled to find something to feed our little kids.

We were there for 3 nights, and I think this hotel is right for a short stay. As the rooms are smaller, after 2-3 days you begin to feel a bit cramped if it’s bad weather outside.

Everything was great. Location and Staff. They were all friendly and helpful. When needed something, response was fast. I really appreciate with one gentleman staff at the breakfast, always attending with my kids. All the receptionists were superb and kind to us and our kids. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. It helped me a lot, since I was traveling with two kids. Have a wonderful Christmas and happy new year to everyone in hotel am Viktualienmarkt.

Don’t have anything to say. If I have to point out, only the glass door in the shower room was very difficult to open.

Location couldn't have been better. Central, quiet and clean. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet had good choices of cold food - the boiled eggs were lovely - and excellent coffee. The triple room was spacious and the shower excellent. Windows opened, too, which was nice and the streets were quiet at night.

If you are considering a single room, please notice how very small they are.

The property was in a great location to get around town on foot. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we were able to offload our luggage in front of the hotel. We had two rooms across from each other, as we had two adults, and three teenagers. The set up worked out well. The breakfast that was included was great, and we were pleasantly surprised. We were a little disappointed, because even though we reached out to the property several days before our arrival, they were unwilling to refund a night that we were going to miss due to the German airport union strike. This was out of our control and we did feel we gave plenty of notice, within the guidelines stated.

Hallways felt a little narrow and dark, but wouldn’t deter me from staying.

The helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Location! 5 min walk to the Marienplatz and convenient to everything. The Viktualienmarkt is just around the corner. The hotel was as expected - a small family-run hotel so we were not expecting “The Hilton” and we were not disappointed. Clean, quiet and comfortable in an ideal location for exploring Munich and a welcome bottle of mineral water. Breakfast included is a bonus and a good range of options provided in the breakfast room.

The bathroom was a bit small and the toilet seat needed repairing - most likely due to the snug corner it was located in. There is an elevator which is fabulous but it is tiny so a family of 3 with luggage needs to use 2 trips to get everyone to the room.

The location was just a block from the Viktilian Markt which is the heart of Munich is our opinions with its local vendors, beer garden type outdoor dining under huge old trees. The staff are the owners, family run, friendly and helpful. There is an elevator which we appreciate. Breakfast was very good.

The room was cold and the furnace isn’t turned on until October we were told. However he gave us extra blankets. The room could have used some decor, too.

In a very convenient location near the main square and a exceptional market area. In easy walking distance from the S-Bahn / Metro with direct connections to the airport and the main railway stations. The staff at reception was extremely helpful and friendly.

The size of the room was quite small. We stayed twice at this place: The first time, we were on the third floor which was as quiet as a city centre hotel can be. But the second time, we were put on the first floor, which was very noisy from traffic and passers by and especially had some recurring occasional background hum which got irritating as it didn't stop throughout the night.

The location was great for visiting the Christmas Markets!

The hotel provides linens based on the number of guests. Although we chose 2 persons/1 room on the Booking.com search, because we entered only one named guests we got only one set on towels, pillows, and comforter. We didn’t realize it until after the desk had closed. Be sure to book giving the hotel the number of guests in the room. I would suggest messaging them to avoid confusion.

Friendly staff, breakfast was plenty and varied though didn't change much day to day. The beds were comfy. Location was superb, a very quick and easy walk to the Christmas markets and other places we visited. The room was clean and there were often yummy treats or Christmas goodies on the front desk which was a nice little perk. Our two boys loved the gummy bears the front desk team provided.

Pretty sure we got the biggest room there was but for our family of four the room was still too small. We were so cramped and the bathroom was small.
