The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the shower was hot. The room was spacious, and everything was clean. The central station is 10 or 15 minutes walk away, or a very short subway trip. I don't generally avail of daily housekeeping when I am on holidays anyway, but I thought it was clever the way the hotel offers vouchers to redeem at the bar for those content not to have towels refreshed daily, etc. It's win-win in terms of reducing workloads on housekeeping staff and offering customers something they might prefer. The staff were fantastic and I would have to single out Frau Gashke at the reception, who was very helpful, kind and patient. Thank you!!

Personally, I didn't think the neighbourhood had much to offer beyond a rock bar around the corner - that's not to say the Ramada wasn't excellent though. The hotel is probably better suited for business travellers rather than sight seers looking to stroll around.

The room was incredible as was the view. the staff were amazing especially boris and all his colleagues! They were super friendly and eager to help with anything i needed. I was there for medical treatment and at times very very sick and they were so thoughtful and helpful, i appreciated it immensely! They also are currently storing my luggage in their storage room before i return there. The bar staff and food stuff were great too, as was the quality of the foods and drinks! I would recommend this place to anyone!!

The hotel room was very clean and had everything we might need for one night. Especially appreciated was the AC in the room since the temperature outside was so high.

There's one vending machine in the reception/waiting area. Unfortunately it doesn't take cards, only cash. The hotel reception is prepared and is willing to exchange the bills for some coins if needed. Something to keep in mind if you need some snacks in the evening. Otherwise no issues.

Very clean, comfortable room with armchair, desk and coffee machine. Good, varied buffet breakfast. Helpful staff, who allowed me to print out several train tickets when I needed to process a reclaim. Not far from central Essen sights like cathedral and former synagogue. Tram station a couple of minutes' walk away with direct trams to Zeche Zollverein. Good value, at least in winter.

A bit isolated from the main city centre by a wide, busy road; it's a bit of a performance to get to it on foot.

The room was very clean. Very comfortabel bed, clean towels, coffee machine, tv in the room, view to the patio. The breakfast was very very good, with lots of varieties. The personal of the hotel is nice and welcoming, smiling. It felt like they care about you and try to help anytime you need. Small details like products to clean shoes, laundry bag and you can have your clothes washed if needed. Underground parking. Proximity to the city centre and shops/restaurants.

The room was spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was also good. The hotel is located near the city center, but it was very quiet during the night. With two small children, one of us had to sleep on the couch that was squeaky and not very comfortable, but the main bed was great. 👍

Nice room - very comfortable bed and manually adjustable heating. Good sized bathroom with a full-size bath and shower over. Free bottle of water/tea/coffee in room - which is always a nice touch.

Some of the furnishings/furniture was slightly past it’s best - marks/scuffs on the desk/console table and wobbly/broken leg on coffee table.

The hotel was fantastic. We could walk into Essen centre in 10 mins, however the area you walked though was not as nice. The room and bed were great and the breakfast was amazing. The parking underneath the hotel was an added bonus. We loved our stay.

The area surrounding the hotel was not as nice as Essen Centre. However we never felt unsafe and it was still a pleasant walk.

The stay itself was good. The room and facilities are also good. The rooms towards the busy street side are also quiet Breakfast is a bit overpriced, but otherwise plenty of choice with enough space in the breakfast room. The value for money without breakfast included was good. The staff in general was friendly but with one exception. The location is okay and still in the centrum . Two stops by underground streetcar from Central Station Essen or a 20 min walk . Stop is beside Hotel

We arrived on Friday 19 November around 12 noon, the lady at the reception was not exactly friendly. Check-in is from 2 p.m. I know this when I booked so it is not a problem, so I just wanted to ask if we could leave our luggage there until then, whereupon I was abruptly interrupted... Check-in from... She didn't let me finish. So second try. Whereupon my attempt was finally approved with much reluctance. That was actually the only downside.

The hotel is definitely a good choice for enjoying calm and modern equipped rooms. The bathroom is spacious enough, the room itself as well. We did not use other amenities other than the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, which has both been excellent. The car park is underneath and safe.

The room mini bar has been removed and replaced by snack and drinking automates. Make sure you have enough coins and they meet the purchase amount. no money back!
