A very conveniently placed hotel direct in the old town and within 8 minutes walk to the main train station. The manager on duty was very friendly and kind. We learnt a lot about the history of the hotel and the surrounding businesses from him. There were snack and drink vending machines on every floor. Access to the rooms only work with a pin, no keys. Also no 24 hour reception. Our room was spotlessly clean (we were on the fourth floor which was newly renovated) with sufficient towels and toilet paper and hand soap 🧼. Though lacking in luxuries like shampoo and shower gel the level of convenience and cleanliness and most importantly for the price was absolutely great.

No kettle in room

Well, it's definitely not a perfect 10, but the property has such a low score that it deserves a boost, because it's really an acceptable place. It's not dirty, it's not dangerous. I've stayed in higher rated places with much worse experience. The room was small but confy, there was very good hot water, the toilet was clean and every day the room service came to cleanup. I had a big sink in the bedroom too, towels were fresh every day.

The shower hose was a little short so you had to sit to wash your hair, there was only 1 electrical socket in the room so charging the phone was difficult, the reception was closed when I arrived and at first I thought there is nobody there, but after insisting with the calls the desk clerk came.

Nicely located in the downtown and close to all its attractions and train station this hotel used to be my choice in the past for its reasonable pricing. I was surprised to learn it now has been fully refurbished (incl. doors, carpets, furniture, electrics, tiles and shower rooms). Old images of shabby stuff that remain online are thus, a bit misguiding.

Hotel runs automated check in and check out, and doesn't provide proper invoice otherwise than by e-mail, which is not convenient for business trips.

I had some small problem during the first opening my room... and needed the receptionist's assistance. I am to blame as I got the hints in Deutsch, und das verstehen ich nicht so schnell und perfect. -- But, perhaps, a small leaflet (1/6 of A4) with instructions in English for ignorants like me could be helpful. Sowieso, the receptionist wrote me my opening code on a small sheet of paper. So he could have easily written it in that 'SmallGuide' :-)

Rooms very clean andmodern. Looks to have been refitted recently and way better than previous reviews may have suggested. Bathroom clean and functions which is all you need. Great location in city centre.

Lack of staff an issue. Only saw anyone on front desk once in 3 days, although the door coded system reduces the need for this but if there are any issues there is no one to contact.

Location was great. The self checking was good. There was no breakfast, but all was good. I really didnot see any staff. Door codes were a great method of getting in.

there was a bath instead of a shower cabin, what made bathing uncomfortabe, as water was easily spilled on the floor. The bath was placed in separate room, not in the same with toilet and sink.

Fantastic location, shutters on the windows were great and there wasn't much noise from outside even though we were located at the front of the building. Easy check in and staff were friendly.

The light didn't work in our bathroom but the staff member explained that he had done what he could and let us know in advance, so this was helpful, and the light wasn't essential anyway.

This was the second time I stayed at the Continental and it’s my kinda place. If you want to be close to the train station, need a comfy bed and a spacious room this is the place. If you’re looking for attentive service, breakfast and additional amenities you probably want to pay a little extra. Great location, newly renovated 4th floor. Self check in with a code. Great value for the money.
