Honestly the room rate at this hotel was so reasonable I wasn't expecting much. I'm leaving this review because I was so pleasantly surprised at the service, comfort and overall atmosphere at this little hotel that I feel it deserves high praise. First of all, the rooms are absolutely spotless. The bathroom was so clean it literally sparkled. Just so much attention to detail. The mattress was really comfortable and the only time I heard any noise at all was when someone was directly outside my door. Nothing at all from the other rooms. Koukaki is a fantastic neighborhood with so many interesting cafes and shops. It is an excellent choice if you want to be within easy walking distance to the main Athens attractions while experiencing some of the local flavor that you absolutely will not find in a neighborhood like Plaka, which, while beautiful, honestly feels a little too sterile. Even though the hotel is situated in a vibrant neighborhood full of Athenians doing their thing, the quiet cul-de-sac insulates it from the bustle and it was a pleasure to sit on my balcony in the evening and enjoy the peace. The staff. From front desk to cleaning, they are so helpful and just very pleasant to be around. I felt very welcome. Manos at the front desk had so much great advice, even about rather obscure places on Crete where I'm headed next. I was allowed to store my luggage after checkout, and he waited with me to make sure my taxi arrived on time. This hotel really is just a class act all around and I would 100% stay here again if I ever make it back to Athens. 11/5 stars.

Absolutely nothing I didn't like. Just keep in mind there is no elevator, so those with mobility issues or very heavy luggage might want to consider a room on the first floor.

We recently spent five nights at the Marble House Hotel in Athens, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how impeccably clean our room was, and the warm, welcoming nature of the staff made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond, offering us insider tips on the best local restaurants and authentic Greek taverns. Thanks to their fantastic recommendations, we avoided tourist traps and enjoyed delicious meals daily, immersing ourselves in the true flavors of Athens. The hotel’s location is perfect—nestled in a genuine Athens neighborhood that’s within comfortable walking distance of the city center, yet away from the hustle and bustle. If you’re looking for a cozy, family-run boutique hotel experience and prefer to steer clear of the larger chains, Marble House is the perfect choice. Our stay here was nothing short of wonderful, and we will definitely be returning whenever we find ourselves in Athens again! Highly recommended!

Everything was to our liking, we didn't have any problems at all.

Very clean, comfortable, in a calm street, albeit very close to a main artery of the city. Good location close to the Acropolis, close to the metro. Hot water in the bathroom. I recommend it. The ratio between price and quality is fair.

The room, and especially the bathroom, was tiny. There are many rooms in the not too big hotel and the corridor is covered with marble floor. In the mornings, we were waken up by the echoing steps of our neighbors and all those who took their showers in the separate bathroom next to our room.

The room was spotlessly clean and the facilities were great value for money. The staff were super helpful, especially when it came to dealing with my heavy suitcase with a room on the third floor in a hotel with no elevator. Effective aircond and a fridge in the room were welcome given the very hot summer Athens is experiencing. The location at the end of a dead-end lane means that it is super quiet despite being quite centrally located. Dinner recommendations were great. The little outdoor terrace at the front of the hotel was a great breakfast spot (from supplies bought nearby - the hotel does not serve breakfast).

This hotel is best suited to small groups on holidays. As a solo traveler in Athens for work, I had hoped I could work at a table in the lobby since there was no desk in my room. In fact the lobby was not set up for this at all and was mainly used for luggage storage and people waiting for taxis. Also, being out at work most days it was a bit difficult to communicate with reception staff due to the limited hours.

I stayed in a twin room with bunk beds. The room was small but had a very big balcony. My first impression was that it was all very clean. This made me feel happy straight away. I felt 100% safe and happy staying here as a solo female traveller. The bed was comfortable and there was a big powerful fan in the room as well. I did not needed air-conditioning but it was an option to have for an additional €5 per night. It was all excellent. Great location within easy walking distance of the Plaka district and the Acropolis. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The room didn't have a kettle and on asking I was given one with a mug straight away. There was also a safe free of charge to be used in the room. I have stayed in 4 star hotels before that were genuinely a lot worst and in comparisson this should be a hotel with at least 3 stars. There are many restaurants, cafes and shops within a 5 minute walk. Including a supermarket and a 24 hour bakery (The bread factory) that serves drinks and have a cafe area too. I really enjoyed my stay and would be very happy to return in future.

The shower cubicle was tiny, this may be a problem for a larger person.

The location was very good, and we were very close to the Acropolis. Our advice: DO NOT try to walk to the Acropolis because the streets are very steep up the hill. Uber and taxi were cheap and very affordable. The Marble House room price was excellent. They have the special rooms for 3 people and also for 4 people. The staff was very helpful to move our luggage upstairs. It was much cleaner than we thought. The lobby's lights were always on, and there were tables and chairs. In the middle of the night, we were able to make business phone calls and use the computer there as needed. There was a store called the Bread Factory at the corner of that street block. It was like a big bakery and also serving hot food like the Whole Foods' deli counter. It had the seating outside in the patio and on the second floor. We ate breakfasts and dinners there, for the food price was reasonable. There were nine people of us, and we knew each other for more than 25 years.

The bathroom was a little bit too small, but we expected that, and we were not surprised. Bring your own soap, shampoo, and towel. We expected that and no problem!

I spent a few days in Athens with my mother and our twin room here was a perfect place to stay. The hotel is located at the end of a small cul-de-sac (which made it pleasantly quiet) in the area of Koukaki (which lies conveniently close to the Acropolis without feeling too heavily commercialised). Our room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was well-presented and worked. The staff were very friendly and kindly spoke English. I would strongly recommend Marble House to anyone.

Everything was just as we would wish.

The team gives very clear and easy to follow directions for getting to the hotel! The pictures on the listing really don’t do this property justice, it’s way cooler and more beautiful in person! The receptionist was very nice and helpful, everything was easy to understand, the room was extremely comfy and spacious, even though I did the shared restroom option I never had any issues with getting in, the shower was hot and had great pressure. There are many restaurants and cool shops in each direction to explore and it’s close to the metro for easy travel to other areas. I saw some people mention the ac, but the room I stayed in had a giant ceiling fan that kept the room cool enough to need an extra blanket.

The location is fantastic. The room was very clean - I'd say spotless, which was suprising given the price. There's free wifi, and the rooms were serviced every day and there were fresh towels available every day. Air conditioning is available for a very reasonable €5 a day. This hotel represents excellent value for money. If value is the main factor, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel

What didn't I like? Nothing really. I could comment on the lack of facilities and the size of the room but that would be churlish as this hotel offers clean and basic accommodation at a rock bottom price. It would be unreasonable to expect additional facilities or a large room

The location was very convenient to the Acropolis area, plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Manos our host was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. There is no elevator so requires climbing stairs with luggage which could be difficult from an accessiblility standpoint for those with mobility issues. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice terrace with table and chairs.

The room was very small, asked for a larger room but none was available. The room was very hot when we arrived, we paid extra for air conditioning which worked very well. It was difficult to find the Marble House (at the end of a dead end street) so unloading and parking were a challenge but Manos was very helpful with letting us know about parking options and very helpful with unloading luggage.
