This is a gem of a hotel and I almost don't want to let everyone know just how good it was! The original features retained in the house blend well with the modern. Afrodite, and the staff are so friendly , with great communication even before our arrival, and the location is just perfect 5 mins from syntagma square and 10 mins to the acropolis slopes! Beds are very comfortable and the Little touches like slippers, and the toiletries and amenities in the bathroom are what makes staying in a small independent hotel so much better than a big chain! The selection at breakfast was amazing....and all cooked/baked to perfection! This will be our go-to hotel for stays in Athens from.now on! And pay a visit to the gramophone museum in the basement .....!

Rooms a bit small but very comfortable, very clean with all the necessary facilities. Housekeeping ensures all is done quick and properly.

I stayed at Sweet Home Hotel for almost a week of work meetings before my family arrived on the weekend. I stayed in a cozy and spotlessly clean 'basic' room, and it was perfect. The bathroom was large, with a fantastic shower and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. I enjoyed having tea in my room before heading down to breakfast every morning. The breakfast was always fresh and delicious, with a variety of homemade cakes on offer in addition to wonderful egg dishes, fruits, yogurt, vegetables, cheese, etc. The women who run Sweet Home are so kind and warm. They always made me feel welcomed when I returned from a long day of meetings. The location is perfect with several excellent restaurants within five minutes walk. Syntagma metro station is an 8 minute walk from the hotel. Sweet Home Hotel is a perfect hotel in an excellent location.

The hotel was in an incredible location, central to everything. It was so much fun to walk everywhere. The staff was the best I’d ever seen, so warm and homey; they welcomed me like family. I’m not kidding. Aphrodite at Reception went out of her way to make sure I could get to my room early because I had a headache, and the breakfast ladies were lovely and sweet and attentive. I enjoyed the breakfast selection, and camped out by the welcome drink station. Their homemade sour cherry liqueur was out of this world!! It was a great stay overall considering I was on my own. I would definitely go back.

The room was basic and small, basically like the photos. But the bed was comfy.

I absolutely adored staying at Sweet Home Hotel. This was a solo leisure trip I tacked onto a work trip and the staff was outstanding at making me feel incredibly comfortable and making a stay easy and relaxing while being on my own exploring Greece for the first time. The staff was super helpful with advice/recommendations and interested to hear about my experiences as well (it’s clear they are interested in keeping their information up to date for future guest!). The room was spacious, had great A/C, and the bathroom had beautiful state of art fixtures with a high pressure rain shower head (a nice surprise for a downtown major city hotel). My bedroom window had an unexpected, fantastic view of the Parthenon - which was gorgeous to look at lit up at night. The location is city center and I could walk to every landmark / site on my list. The bed was comfy and I slept great. The breakfast buffet in the morning was fresh, plentiful, and delicious with broad hours - accommodating an early morning or a sleep in. If I return to Athens - I would want to stay here again!

Such a great location to stay in Athens. Walking distance to the cute Plaka neighborhood streets, the Acropolis, and the meeting spots for most tours. We stayed one night in the Acropolis view room and one night in a regular double room. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was even better than expected: yogurt, eggs, fruit, juice, french toast, etc.

The view to the Acropolis is pretty minimal in the Acropolis view room (photos are accurate) so I'd just recommend staying in a regular room and viewing the Acropolis from outside. But nothing wrong with the rooms at all! Very comfortable beds and the AC was much appreciated.

Safe place for solo travelers, especially for women. Staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is really feels like home.

Too small ro with almost no daylight at all

We wanted to stay in a different venue in Plaka rather than a large hotel. It was a smaller boutique hotel. Great breakfasts. The cook was always smiling and kind. We were allowed to drop our luggage off early since our check in was much later. Afroditi was obliging and showed us a map of the area. She answered any questions we had. We like the area and walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and sights.

We were told when we arrived that there was a computer booking error that the hotel had made so our party of six with three rooms booked would have to stay in different rooms each night although we had booked multiple nights. Eventually it was arranged that we only had to move rooms the first night. The balcony and the views in our rooms were not usable

The hotel staff was very kind and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, mainly homemade. The hotel is very well located, many restaurants around! We really enjoyed staying at the sweet home hotel.

The hotel is located near the Plaka. We had a car, but the hostess helped us secure a parking spot across the street. even though the lot said it was full, the hotel does have an understanding with the garage. So, I would recommend checking in at the hotel first and asking about parking across the street since they do have an arrangement. The rooms were nicely decorated and spacious. The hotel has excellent amenities, such as a breakfast bar. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to assist. It is a smaller boutique hotel, and this made our stay charming. The location is also excellent since it is located near Plaka, Monastiraki, and Syntagma.

We really loved our stay, and if we are in this area of Athens, we would stay here again.
