The hostel staff are very nice and let us check-in a little earlier. The hostel has very good security, we were able to safely leave our bicycles in their inner courtyard. Our room with bathroom was very clean, warm and comfortable. Excellent location. Would definitely stay here again.
There is a kitchen available to use and we were very grateful for that, but it is very poorly equipped for a hostel that size. There are only 2 microwaves for cooking. There is no stove top/ hot plates or toaster. Nothing to dry your dishes or wet hands with . Hot water in the main sink didn't work so had to boil kettle to do dishes. There is nowhere to put your non-perishable items so people were storing things like tea bags and oats in the fridge! The fridge was small so it got very full because of this. A few lockers or shelves would be great. Perhaps they don't want people cooking there as it may be a fire hazard.

The unquestionable advantage of MP Hostel is its location (near the red Metro 2) and relatively good price compared to other facilities of a similar standard. The offer includes mixed rooms (like in a typical hostel) as well as gender-separated dorms. Access to the hostel via an electronic card. The 12-person dorm has a private bathroom with two showers and two toilets. A large lockable locker for private items or clothes (you receive the key at check-in). A small shelf for small items right next to the bed with a bedside lamp for reading and a socket for gadgets. There is a kitchen at the -1 level with a fridge where you can prepare meals (24 hours a day). The hostel is more like an aparthotel: there is calm and quiet; it is not a party place. If someone wants to feel the atmosphere of a real youth hostel, you should look elsewhere.
For some reason, there is no breakfast offer for now (mid-April 2024). The sheet wasn't very comfortable; it kept bunching up in one place when turning over while sleeping.

The location was just perfect, 5 minutes away to the famous ruin bar and restaurants you may want to go. It was a shared room of four, so I was a bit afraid of if the room was clean but no worries. Thank you for the great reception, they were so kind!
There were only two power plugs, fortunately the other two beds are empty so we did not need more but it could be an issue. Also the bathroom is very old, there were cracks on the surface of the sink. But that was not a problem at all because I only stayed one night.

Opted for the breakfast during my stay. Very good breakfast with a variety of options to choose from. It was very meat heavy, but there were vegetable, fruit and cheese options to choose from. Had a problem with a guest in one of my rooms, but the staff was able to kindly change my accommodations with no additional charge. Enjoyed the 12 dorm style rooms. The bathrooms had 2 toilets and 2 showers in each room, which comes in handy when you are sharing with 12 other people. The cleanliness of the staff regarding rooms is very evident as you can see the housekeepers everyday turning out beds and cleaning down bathrooms. No molding around bathrooms, could do with more hooks to hang your things on while showering. Despite the small shower size, water had good pressure and quickly went to hot and cold. Toilets and showers are separated which works well in not having to wait until the person gets out of the shower to use the bathrooms. Each bunk has their own shelf near the bed, their own socket, their own bed light, and their own closet with a key. The closet is very spacious, was able to fit a 65 liter travel backpack and standard sized backpack with room to spare. It’s not too wide but very tall. The bunks are separated by walls, and you have curtesy curtains so you can close creating a mini room. Hostel located near many eateries and bars, however tucked away so that no noise can filter in. Secure entry way, and front desk is right at the entrance to keep an eye on how is coming in and out. Various options for guest to choose from available for food, drinks, and tours.
The site says they have a kitchen, however this is misleading. It’s more of a kitchenette. You have 2 electric kettles and 2 microwaves. This was disheartening to find. There is a patio located in the center of the hostel where guests are allowed to smoke. Unfortunately the smoke filters into the rooms, so if you’re a non smoker, ask for the bottom floor dormitory, it seems the smell of the cigarettes filter in less than the floors higher up. That same patio, although it does have signs regarding quiet times, many guests ignore it and the funneling of the patio helps to carry their voices. So ear plugs are a must. Now knowing this, I would still come back to MP Hostel I still enjoyed my stay.

The stuff is extremely friendly and helpful. I've been here before and will come back again especially because of the amazing behaviour of the receptionists. I'm mostly grateful for the help of the receptionist on the night shift who helped me a lot to make my roommates stop the noise and finally sleep in the evening.
Cleaning level I'm sure it can be improved especially in the toilets and shower rooms while they are so often used in the dormitories. Breakfast that costs 8 euros per day includes 3 items. You can choose from 1 sandwich or toast, a croissant and a drink that can be taken from an automatic vending machine. For 8 euros you can find a better breakfast.

Good location, reasonable value for a private bedroom with bathroom.
Breakfast was not available due some problems that they didn't gave details. Weak shower could have more water pressure.

I had a pleasant stay at this hostel, and a few things stood out for me. The location was excellent, with bus stops conveniently close by. The room itself was spacious, with clean toilets and bathrooms. I appreciated that each person had their table—something I haven’t seen in other hostels. Additionally, the bunk beds each had a curtain, providing an extra level of privacy, especially for girls, which was a nice touch. The rooms were well-ventilated, with plenty of windows allowing for fresh air. Overall, a comfortable and thoughtfully designed space.
There was only one bathroom and toilet for around 10 people, there could have been more.

We really liked the location, there are so many places to hang out in the neighborhood and, it is easy to reach other parts of Budapest. The room was clean and enough for a couple of nights to sleep. But if you are looking for something more fancy then you should look for other options. The shared kitchen was also clean as far as we see.
The beds were old and not very comfortable. There is no longer any option for breakfast due to some problems with the company and I believe this should be mentioned while reserving the room. It is not a deal breaker but the furniture should be changed it feels like an old dormitory :) (perhaps it was...) Please find a solution for slamming doors :)

I have stayed here often when I needed to stay overnight in Budapest as I live in the countryside some hours away from the capital. The rooms are comfortable, the 4 bed rooms have a private bathroom, and the hostel is quiet. It is located in the center of the city, close to public transit, and it is an overall value.
They used to have a fully staffed breakfast buffet on offer for 8 euro. They have closed it, and all they offer for 8 euros, is three items from vending machines. None of those items are particularly "breakfast" items, and hardly are worth 8 euros. I think that continuing to offer "Breakfast" for 8 euros on the listings here as an option when booking, is somewhat misleading. When someone sees "add breakfast for 8 euros", they probably aren't expecting three items from vending machines.
