We were travelling with kids (7 and 9 years old) and the bungalow was perfect for our needs. Nice beds and fan+aircon in both storeys. The pool and social are was nice and the staff was very helpfull and friendly. Also to location is perfect for snorkling as there are many turtles and nice reefs at the beach just outside the hostel.

Tipsea Turtle Gili Air is simply the best. Every single need I had was fulfilled. The staff was amazing, friendly, always smiling and trying to help. Facilities matched with the pictures, nice hot showers with good water pressure. Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. AC was working perfectly. Nice pancakes for breakfast with fresh fruits and coffee or tea. Loved the pool! Location is on the other side of the island if you walk from the harbor but still perfect. Beach starts literally from the front of the hostel. Came here twice and stayed like 3 weeks because enjoyed myself soo much.

The spirit of this stay is really apart. All is made to create interaction between guests and facilitate doing activities together. The staff are smiling and very helpful

BEST HOSTEL I’VE EVER BEEN IN (and i’ve been in maaaany) Amazing vibes, the beach is out front so you can just walk out to the sea with your swimsuit and snorkel, no shoes needed. The staff is wonderful, there are several activities every day for all tastes, so you can do as much or as little as you want. Everyone is in such an incredible good mood in this place, super relaxed chill vibes, happy, everyone talks to everyone… top top top top The reps and the staff are incredible. Very kind and helpful. Mala is one of the best yoga teachers i’ve ever had in over a decade of different teachers.

Nothing. Maybe the grass floor in the rooms wasnt needed but it’s alright.

Very nice hostel, the staff is super friendly (like everywhere on Gili Air). I stayed in the private room, which is very small and doesn't have a bathroom but is brand new, with excellent super comfybedding. The shared bathrooms, however, are individual and plenty, and the shower has fresh hot/cold water with good pressure (many places on the island use salty water). They have a whatsapp group with daily acitivies and a nice pool to hangout. However, I did find very hard to connect as the other solo travellers are under 25 and I'm nearly 40. So if you aren't in the mood for mojitos at 11am by the pool you might not make as many friends.

The place is wonderful, but overpriced for a private room. You can get your own bungalow with balcony and ensuite for less in the same area. The breakfast was also the same for the 3 nights I stayed.

The family room was great. The children had the floor with their own chill area outside including bean bags. And we have a nice, neat room downstairs. Air conditioning on all 2 floors. The bathroom was good with a shower with plenty of water. The stairs are a bit steep. No problem for us, but perhaps less pleasant with younger children. Nice atmosphere. Because the family room is located at the front, you won't be bothered by any parties ;) if you don't feel the need for one. We saw turtles every day 100 meters north of the hotel (at Sandybeach) close to the beach.

The location is perfect. Good price and value. Lauren was great but some staff were a little inattentive. No curtains for the beds. Would have preferred a private room. Overall a good value.

The private room was so clean and spacious. The private bathroom had excellent light. It was really quiet for a hostel so no problems sleeping. Perfect location on the east side for sunrise and also right next to Next Level dive shop who are awesome. Morning breakfast waffles and coffee were yummy. The whatsapp group is a genius idea for organising daily activities.

The private room was quite dark. The yoga was too busy so I couldn’t get a spot and also it was so cramped I don’t think I would have wanted to do it in that little space.

"The staff at the hostel were very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, as it was less than 5 minutes from the beach, and super close to restaurants and dive centers. The hostel itself struck a perfect balance of being relaxed with the option for activities. Initially, we had planned on staying for only one night but ended up staying for five. Our bungalow was fantastic and came complete with a mini fridge and balcony. Afterwards, we moved into a dorm, which was a three-person dorm with single beds and a wall between them, more like a capsule dorm. However, the beds were super comfy!"

The dorm would benefit from additional furniture such as benches or shelves, as floor space is very limited, especially with three backpacks. Additionally, some of the shared showers could benefit from better drainage.

Very, very good hostel. Everything is very carefully thought out. Toilets are cleaned constantly, hot water, proper bedding and really decent mattresses (not seen this before). Good vibe there, they get everyone socialising. Would recommend for solo travelers. Also brilliant snorkeling right outside. Just head out directly from hostel. It's really shallow at first but keep going, then you will notice the corel and then it gets deeper. Saw turtles every time I went out ☺️

Think they could maybe do with an extra coffee machine just so you can get a coffee quicker in the mornings. Not really a problem though.
