Peaceful, great view

Poor choice in restaurant, fish was old, very little vegetarian. Some staff were rude about us in Balinese, assuming we didn’t understand

Wonderfully located in Munduk countryside and with a spectacular view. Very quiet, you can only hear the animals at night (mainly frogs and some birds). Even just in the patio next to our room was a relaxing and peaceful experience. Wonderful massage at the SPA (a massage-therapist named Astri gave excellent massages to our whole family, including our 6-year-old son)

We did not like the restaurant and since it is the only option, it spoiled our stay a bit. Many family with kids (mostly French), not many sun-beds near the pool, so it is often difficult to find a place to sit near the pool, as people occupy sun-beds for the whole day even when they are not around for a few hours. Staff should check a bit more.

Beautiful setting looking out on rice fields and hills. Staff very kind and food was excellent. The hotel organised for their guide to take us on 2 four hour trips which were so enjoyable and interesting. 80% of their staff are from the local community which they support in other ways. The bungalows had glass doors on 3 sides which could be open to allow flow of breeze.

Maybe a chest of drawers in bedroom as not much dtorage...but a minor point.

Sanak was an amazing hidden gem, that keeps you away from the madness of Bali, taking you to a very relaxing and heart-warming location where you can enjoy the quietness. The staff were absolutely amazing and look after us every single time we needed. The food was tasty and fresh. Let's not forget the spa treatment, it was outstanding the best 3hours of my life. Thank you for being so good with us.

I loved everything. It was the most beautiful and serene place I’ve stayed in Bali, nestled amongst the rice paddies and mountains. The staff were so kind and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The massages were divine and breakfast was delicious too. It was my birthday and they went to so much effort to make me feel special, it really was a weekend to remember.

The only thing was the fact there was no AC in the rooms.

Sanak Retreat is paradise! The location is amazing and the view over rice fields with mountains in the back is breathtaking. It’s a great place to relax. The house was beautiful and super clean and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. We’d also recommend to do the village trek as you learn a lot about the nature around you and the village life. We’ve also got a massage which was amazing.

Gorgeous. The property is a work of art. Can't tell where the hotel begins and the rice fields end. Truly beautiful.

The food was average. Choices were limited. And as it's tucked away, you don't have much choices outside.

Needs more facilities like a gym, a free shuttle at least once a day to the lake or a waterfall. For this price the room could also have some complementary tea/coffee.

Everything is designed with love and a lot of details. The view from the restaurant is really beautiful, the pool area so relaxing and the villa was awesome! Moreover the spa was outstanding and we had the best massages ever in a really nice designed house!

Really welcoming and relaxing, good old spirit of these south-asian boutique hotels from 10 years ago, meaning that the design is not what you would call a breakthrough but really comfortable and quickly feeling like a home.
