just its location as it is far from Ubud’s center. but as long as they have free shuttles dropping & pick up to their hotel it is fine.

This was my second time staying at Sthala and it won’t be my last. We absolutely loved everything about our stay, from the staff to the food to the rooms, the pool, everything was great. We loved the free daily activities as well which are 3 times per day. Breakfast was amazing and the restaurant looks out over the river which is beautiful. Everywhere was clean and the rooftop bar is beautiful for watching the sunset. All of the staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, especially Agus, Agung and Dek War - thank you!

The only thing is you can’t walk to ubud centre - there is a free shuttle provided by the hotel though

Multiple Staff with the same question will keep annoying you by asking what is your plan for today, how long will you stay in Ubud specially when you are doing breakfast. You need that space without someone interrupt you again and again. Shuttle to ubud central is having limited occupancy(10) with such big hotel and on request they do not run extra shuttle. Hence you may have to arrange a taxi and pay extra for that.

Amazing facilities, amazing staff, I felt pampered by all of the staff during my whole stay, they were always so kind and attentive! They paid attention to my request to avoid having lizards close to my room (doorstep and balcony). It is beautifully located, an absolutely calm place for relaxing. Breakfast is very nice, it has many options and you have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast with the view and sound of the river. The room is really clean and comfortable, exactly as it is on the hotels from Marriott Group. Loved that they had a coffee machine, despite the fact that they only provided my room with one capsule. They have two pools, one of them facing the river, which is absolutely gorgeous. As the hotel is located far from the center, they have a free shuttle bus to Ubud Center plenty of times during the day, which was outstanding for me. Great food! Amazing spa!!

Lizards/geckos, there are a lot of lizards/geckos around the hotel (but thankful never in the room). I know it's actually not the hotel's fault, there are a lot of lizards/geckos throughout the whole island and mostly in Ubud, but I'm just addressing this in case it's a concern to anyone as it has been to me. Some of the areas of the hotel could be cleaner (mostly the corridors and ceiling corners), as it can end up spoiling the 5 stars of the hotel. There are some bushes on the side of the entrance of the rooms which could be more taken care of, as it looks like it's not well maintained.

Far from everything and the breakfast was so so..

The hotel is on a site that overlooks a small river and valley, which provides absolutely gorgeous views for the restaurant and pool. And the staff are amazing. I cannot remember the last time I stayed at a hotel where every single member of the staff was as friendly and welcoming as the members at Sthala. They really know how to make me feel taken care of!

The hotel is located pretty far from the center of Ubud, so you will need to take the courtesy shuttle to and fro. Sometimes this can take longer than 30 min due to traffic.

Clean hotel, outstanding service and level of professionalism, great pools and very nice rooms. Our trip took some unexpected turne anr forced us to book 2 more nights for 6 people and 4 rooms. The staff has done a phenomenal effort to get this to work in short notice while being in a very busy season.

Not a lot to mention here, the food in the restaurants was amazing but the food around the pool was mediocre which sometimes felt like a waste of money.

Well designed property, nice locale with river view and two gorgeous pools plus lush green forest surroundings. Felt less Bali & more US-vibe. The staff were helpful and always smiling. Had the pool and gym to myself the morning of check out - was incredible.

We had especially noisy neighbours so didn’t get any sleep from 3:30-5:30AM. Bad luck…The staff made some attempts to call the room and have them quiet down.. though ineffective. Breakfast views were amazing, the egg station was good. The remainder of the food looked… meh at best. Didn’t feel Marriott level in terms of the spread. The bread was terrible quality. Location wise it’s removed from Central Ubud about 20-25 minutes by car, but a nice respite.

I didn’t expect the hotel to be as good as that! We had a wonderful stay at the hotel! Everything was exceedingly outstanding. The free shuttle to the center was amazing and the buffet was fantastic! The view was impressive ! Erika and ayuk you guys were amazing so happy we became pals they helped us a lot during our stay! And of Course agus, karsanai and Arya ur cooperation with us was lovely! Love you sthala!

This is a very special place to stay. The staff in the lobby and restaurant are absolutely exceptional and kind! It felt like home during my 15 day stay! The breakfast was delicious and very accommodating for my vegan requests.
