The hostess is gracious and attentive to every detail. The room was very clean and comfy, with a soft bed and cozy blankets, a kettle and tea in the room, fresh fluffy towels for the modern shower, and good TV service. We were pleased to discover that this B&B has been owned and operated by one family for almost 100 years. The dining room is filled with gorgeous antiques, and the breakfast couldn't have been better. We were offered a choice of entrees, and it was all fresh and delicious.

The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer! The comfort of this B&B made our stay in Clifden perfect.

Host was wonderful. Des was his name. Well dressed, very professional, and clearly cared about his guests and guest house. We received a great welcome. He met us on arrival and departure. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional, worthy of a 5 star hotel.Best pancakes we ever had anywhere. Super location, walking distance of restaurants and wonderful pubs wits live music. Would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Des.

The warm welcome from Eileen and Desmond set the scene for a fabulous stay. The room was comfortable and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was stupendous and the dining room was full of family artefacts that provided talking points and provoked lots of questions that our hosts were happy to answer. Des recommended a great swimming spot and welcomed our return to shower after the 14 degree dip (even though check out time had passed.) We would definitely return and would recommend this gem to all.

That we had to leave!

Ben View wins the contest for best B&B during our week-long Ireland trip hands down. Spotless rooms, a vast breakfast with which you can easily skip lunch and (well almost) dinner. Super friendly hosts (always remembering your name, which is a small yet nice extra) making you feel right at home. The best bed, though not knowing what I'd do with so many pillows! Old fashioned B&B in the very best sense of the word, ideally centrally located too. What more can you wish for?

B&B wise it only went downhill elsewhere after this stay, but ... that's obviously not Ben View's fault, haha.

Excellent breakfast, very comfortable beds, old style interesting decor but best of all are Des and Eileen, the hosts. Our next accommodation was a little disappointing in comparison. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ben View.

There was nothing I would improve upon.

Great accommodation in the capital of Connemara. Large room with windows overlooking the Clifden the street. Found street parking out front available and free overnight. Dez, the owner, has extensive experience being third generation hotelier, at the same location! I happened to be there just before the Connemara Pony Auction and the town was buzzing. Several nice restaurants within walking distance as well as Maureen O'Hara's favorite woolen shop. Lots of history in the area with Marconi's first trans-Atlantic wireless transmission received and sent. Kylemore Abbey and Glenveigh Castle are close by. A German film crew member was at the B&B getting ready to start filming. Dez provided a wonderful experience.

That I could not have stayed longer.

We had a one stop night driving the Coastal roads. This was easy to locate with street parking just in front. The owner is lovely and met us at the door- remembering that I was gluten free. He even ordered special sausages for breakfast. The breakfast was huge. Bed was large and comfortable. Easy walking to pubs and restaurants and caught a great music session on one of the pubs.

This is an old building- no surprise- but a bit hard to drag our over large suitcases up the stairs- We need to be lighter packers! Our room was also on two levels stepping down 2 or 3 steps from bathroom to bedroom. If you have mobility issues (we don't), please check on where your room is located.

We were here in May. Had to come back with a UK visitor as it's just an outstanding B and B in the centre of Clifden town. Very comfortable and all the staff are so friendly. The Morris family are in business a long time and it shows through their professionalism and friendliness. They recommended a restaurant for dinner too and it was top notch as well. The breakfast is out of this world (see the photos) cereals, fruits, yogurts, breads and then a choice of a full Irish, pancakes or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. We tried them all. Superb. So Hot and so tasty.

Fab B and B right in centre of Clifden town Des is a total charmer. He's so friendly and welcoming. Chatty and interested to hear from all the guests. The Bedroom was just beautiful, clean, warm and so comfy. Bed was a dream and we slept sound. Shower large and lovely and hot. Breakfast was served in a real quaint dining room by a lovely lady called Joanne. It was just yummy and we were full for hours. With cereals, juice and choices of the Full Irish, Pancakes or Smoked Salmon with scrambled eggs, toast, brown bread and pots [and pots] of tea and coffee. We will be back in July. Thanks to all the staff in this lovely spot. 96 years in business and I can see why.

We loved everything !! We'd have loved to have stayed a second night.
