We had a large comfortable room which overlooked the river and it was very good. The location of the hotel could not be better as you simply stepped out the front door into the town centre. Ballina is also a good centre for touring a very interesting and beautiful area. The breakfast is served in a very nice area and there was always someone there to greet you and bring you to a table. The breakfast choice is excellent and the service is both prompt and extremely courteous and pleasant. We dined in the hotel each evening of our three night stay and found the service and food very good. There are very pleasant areas throughout the hotel for reading and relaxing.

I can’t think of anything which would have made a significant difference to our stay. Perhaps some of the decor could have been better in the bedroom corridors as there were places where plaster and paint had been chipped.

Great Irish charm, terrific staff who are ready to give you an enjoyable holiday. Breakfast choices are plentiful and we appreciated the dining room and table service. The location worked well for us. We had one sunny day and one drizzly and both days were wonderful.

Our last night we had noisy neighbors and realized that there was little sound insulation :( the 2nd floor rooms were overly warm so we asked for a sheet so we wouldn't need the duvet. that solved the issue. The spots in the parking garage were super tight, so we parked down the street in the overflow lot, which was great.

Couldn't really fault the hotel if I was being really picky the car park is poorly lit

I love how lovely the staff were. They were friendly and always helpful. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Dinner was great, as was breakfast, and there were much better gluten-free options this time.

I think we were unlucky in that our room was directly above the smoking area outside the hotel. It was a hot, humid night, and we had to have the windows open, so all I could smell on one of the nights was the cigarette smoke. I was the only one from my party who smelled it as I was close to the widow. I think just a little heads up or note about this would be helpful to someone booking rooms.

Location of the hotel is absolutely perfect for exploring the town day or night. The facilities in the room and hotel in general were very clean and comfortable. The view over the river was really lovely. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked with towels and such.

None of these comments are 'sad face' worthy as they are simply my personal preferences so take them with a pinch of salt :) A very minor point, is that the hotel itself and the room were all rather too warm. On a colder day the room would have been perfectly heated, but the day was warm and the room got uncomfortably warm in the evening. There was no thermostat that I could find bar on the radiator which already had a low setting, and the essential safety features on the windows meant that fresh air was hard to get. The bathroom had a little water damage which is understandable but was lovely and clean despite this and had all the necessary towels, which I have found is surprisingly rare in hotels, so loved this.

When we stayed in the Manor last August we said that it was quite drab and in need of a good sprucing-up. When we checked in, we were put in a room on the 4th floor as there was renovations on-going on the second floor (where we had previously stayed). the family room that we were assigned was excellent. Carpets throughout the hotel have been replaced and the hotel HAS been painted. An excellent stay and the location in the heart of the town is excellent too.

Value-for-money is reflective of what is happening across the hospitality sector in Ireland, ie prices for all locations have risen dramatically in the past 18 months.

Beautiful old hotel in the heart of Ballina. Friendly staff and nice facilities. Food was wonderful and the staff was really nice too. Especially the ladies in the hotel restaurant were so nice! Breakfast and dinner was great!

Only thing that would have been nice is a tea and coffee facility in our bedroom. And it's situated on the corner of a very busy street, that makes sleeping quite noisy at night.

We stayed at the Manor House Hotel from Friday 20th October to Monday 23rd October. We have been going to this hotel for about 19 years now. We love it. The staff are amazing, they go above and beyond to look after their guests from reception, bar staff and restaurant. They just make you feel so welcome. Now I will say that the hotel is looking a little dated and could really do with an upgrade. But other than that I would highly recommend a stay here. The food is fab, sadly the bar is no longer open downstairs near the lobby but their is a very nice bar called the Bentley Bar on the first floor. Worth checking out. We always get a beautiful room and this was it was on the 4th floor and very spacious, good size bathroom but shower not great for someone with disabilities. Step to high into it. But nice bathtub. Will be going back soon for a visit and to see family.

Although it is a great place to stay, I just feel it does need to be updated, it is looking a little dated.

Thank you Michaela & Sinead on reception and Zoe, Tamara & Sophia in Breakfast. All of you were very kind, helpful and exceptionally professional in your attitude. I was very Impressed and I certainly hope the General Mgr. fully realises how valuable you are to the hotel. See you next time. x Liam

Great position and a room looking over the river, very clean. Most staff very friendly, especially the breakfast staff who couldn't do enough for you.

Some external parts of the hotel looked shabby and in need of repair (roof sections missing looked shabby) It would benefit with a revamp of the underground car park (paint it and better lighting and signing) as I think it would give the whole place a lift and a more loved quality feeling.
