The girls were lovely on reception. From the minute I arrived I felt at home. It's a beautiful hotel and spotlessly clean! The bed was massive in the room which I liked. The room was the perfect temperature, some hotels are like a furnace. There was also a temperature control just inside the door. But I didn't need it. There was an extra blanket in the wardrobe if needed. Very comfortable room. The shower was also amazing. Great adjustable water pressure. Tea and coffee making in the room too. I love my coffee. I had dinner in the bar, food fantastic and reasonably priced. Staff lovely and friendly and just really down to earth. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone. The location is great for anyone wanting to explore the lovely town of westport. It's right in the middle and there's plenty of easy parking behind it. Layout of the room is lovely.
Not a great TV channel selection but I was informed at check in from the lovely lady on reception that since the storm, there has been problems so they have to wait for the mast to be fixed. Out of their control. And not a deal breaker.

Irish hospitality at its best. On arrival, We were offered assistance with our luggage by a gentleman who was 'on his way to work' in the hotel. He introduced himself as Darren and I thought it was the right thing to register our appreciation for his efforts with the hotel management. The receptionist informed us that Darren is, in fact, the owner ! During our stay, Darren always came over for a chat and treated us like a family member. When time came to check out, I discovered that a rather large bird (probably a shite hawk) had left its calling cards all over my car especially on the drivers door. I asked Darren for a jug of water to sluice the deposits off. Darren inspected the car and remarked that it was probably left by a cow rather than a bird. Darren got a bucket of water and a brush and made short work of the task - and at this time it was absolutely peshin out of the heavens. How many people would offer this sort of help - especially the hotel owner? If you are planning a stay in Westport, I strongly recommend that you give Clew Bay Hotel a try - you will not be disappointed. Darren and his staff are top, top folks - and then some.
It rained, but that's Ireland

Westport as a location is great, the greenway is magic.the hotel was modern clean and staff were fine. Breakfast was lovely and staff there were particularly nice. I thought the price was a little dear. And the reception staff could have given more information out when we arrived. Like they could have told us about parking and the leisure centre which they didn't. Otherwise it was fine
Price and parking were the negatives. The town I thought was dangerous to drive through. It could do with a few stop signs and lights on the quay.

The parking was close and inexpensive, the bed was firm, the bathroom clean, the wifi strong, and the breakfast outstanding. Great location for exploring the city center and for getting easily to restaurants and bike hire. (BTW, the bike ride along the Greenway is gorgeous, but even though we are avid cyclists we were glad to have rented electrics.)
It was hot, there's no airco, only one of the windows would open, and though we were provided with a fan, the duvet was so thick we were really grateful we'd brought our own top sheet!

The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great, it's right in the middle of the town. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the ambience nice. Overall a lovely break.
Nothing I can think of that we didn't like. The first night my husband found the bed on his side dipping into the middle and found it hard to sleep, when we informed reception they upgraded us to a lovely room overlooking the stream.

The breakfast was delicious, and more than ample. The dining staff were lovely, and the (male) hotel manager fully embodied all the wonderful qualities of the Irish. We loved the location, right in the thick of things, in the pleasant and fun town of Westport.
The greeting upon arrival from the front desk staff member could've been a little warmer. Not sure if she was having a bad day. In the following days, she did warm up.

Fab homely hotel. Reception and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Parking beside the hotel and location is perfect to access all Westports restaurants, bars, and shops. The room was a good size, comfortable and quiet at night. We received a €50 voucher to return mid week off-season, a lovely gesture & I definitely be back.
There are no negatives at all from our 3 night stay. For improvement though It would be a nice added touch if the hotel were to provide bottled water in the rooms and biscuts with the tea/coffee.

Great stay in Westport. The hotel is in the perfect location in the centre of town. The staff couldn't be nicer. Beds are very comfortable, and the room was a generous size. Parking was also very easy with a large public car park right behind the hotel. The breakfast was also excellent with a lovely selection of hot and cold options.

We had a wonderful stay at the Clew Bay Hotel. Everybody was really really nice. We enjoyed the great food at breakfast and diner. The room was well-equipped and perfectly suited for wheelchair users. The location of the hotel is perfect to visit Mayo County. Thank you so much!

fairly central to everything.
could be a bit noisy. Our room was over the bar, nothing serious, but was woken up to to people obviously leaving the bar, saying their goodbyes. It wasn’t very loud, and can’t be avoided I suppose. Also the bedroom doors banging closed! That was annoying!! Found it hard to get parking,as it is a public car park, that has a leisure centre in it, so could get quite busy. But the best part of our stay was the breakfast. Self service for cereal, fresh fruit, scones, etc. and table service for hot food, so you know it’s cooked fresh, and not sitting in a hot plate. Everything was lovely. And the staff were very helpful and professional.
