Clean, modern, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great facilities and really good location. We were a biker group of 5 lads, none of us had any complaint except for the snoring of 2 of our group 😅

Everything was great, suited us well.

The staff was super nice and helpful. The idea to organise a Pub crawl was both fun and extremely interesting as it enabled you to quickly get in touch with other fellow travellers and make new friends for the duration of your stay. I also absolutely loved the breakfast and the quality of the homemade soda bread. I also loved the fact that there was gluten-free porridge and both oat milk and soya milk made available for those suffering from dairy allergy or intolerance. It was definitely an asset of this accommodation.

First, the showers could have (and should have) been cleaner in my opinion. Secondly, it was boring to be in a room in which the curtains were always drawn shut and in which you could never take your stuff without being extra cautious of the noise you made as there would be people sleeping in there all day long.

I loved everything about the hostel experience. I think from the moment I checked in I felt welcome, and involved in the evenings activities. I loved the bed, it was the most comfy bed I have slept in whilst travelling. I also felt the hostel was extremely secure. The people were friendly, the free tea and coffee station was a huge bonus whilst sitting and charging my devices or planning my onward travels. 10/10!

The bathroom cleaning schedule threw me off, due to there only being very limited bathrooms upstairs, and I was in a rush to get to my next destination, the cleaners closing the main bathroom during peak check out times is not the best. I also think the hostel overall is missing something, perhaps open up the outside decking area?

Great location to the city centre... and just five minutes from the bus and coach station. There's a lift if stairs are too much with your luggage. The guy at reception, Matt, was so friendly and welcoming... and gave lots of advice on where to eat and drink etc. For the day your I did with Galway Tours, they pick you up outside the hostel, which is great.

I was given a top bunk during my first stay of two nights, when I requested a bottom bunk. However, the next time I stayed, they made sure to reserve me a bottom bunk. Also, the room was a bit stuffy, as some backpackers like the window shut and the fan turned off.

This was honestly the best hostel experience I’ve ever had. It was easy to find and easy to access reception. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Upon arriving the receptionist gave us a map of bars to listen to music at, and even added his own favorite. We were not in the mood for something crazy but following the route we were presented with everything good Galway has to offer; from trad music, to sing-along-to-wonderwall, to ending the night at the receptionist favorite bar where we could rewind and end the night on a lullaby. The room were very clean, the beds sturdy (so when you climb to the top bed, you don’t move the whole bed) and all beds had curtains for privacy. The doors seemed to hold all sound out, so the rooms were very quiet. The toilets and showers were super clean. The showers were small cubicles, so you could go in and place your stuff on a small stool and then hop in the shower, which was great for privacy. The breakfast was good, lots of option and A+ for also offering other types of coffee like latte, flat white etc. (all from machine, but still). Fruit was available all the time, which was so nice. All in all just had a really great one night stay, and if we could’ve taken the Kinlay with us through the rest of Ireland, then we would’ve!

Great Location, cleanliness, you have muesili, no eggs/ bacon but bread, fruit, and endless tea/ coffee/ wifi. Comfortable dining area. The curtains on the bunk beds afford an illusion of privacy and some dignity.

It's 6 times cheaper than a hotel in Dublin, so it's going to be 6 times less comfortable. The beds are narrow, creaky and it's hot in a dorm with 6 farting men with no ventilation. The duvets are super warm for summer in a dorm! Plastic bags should be illegal in dorms- en suite is well designed except for the lack of a light switch inside the bathroom instead of illuminating the whole room, each time someone uses it.

Super friendly staff are easily the best thing about this hostel, followed by the location. It also has a lovely common area with a pool table and another near the kitchen. Has an upmarket feel and is very clean and cosy.

Unfortunately, the room was smaller than it should have been as it clearly had one bunk bed too many. The curtains didn't make it past the window sill and my bunk bed was positioned directly below the window, meaning I was woken up by the light at the crack of dawn. I spoke to the staff about it who were lovely as usual, thanked me for bringing it to their attention and they said they'd fix it for future guests. Great service!

Galway was heavily booked when we stayed - we don't usually book a hostel -favouring apartments instead- but we were pleasantly surprised; this hostel was great. Location was perfect. FoH team were hospitable, organised and warm. Put some of our more expensive stays to shame, really - it is the difference between an ok experience and genuinely feeling welcome as a guest, irrespective of the cost. All kudos. The dorm was clean, secure and had small comforts such as charging stations, privacy curtains and individual lights. Breakfast was well organised with plenty of options and very decent coffee. Lots of staff, which kept a usually chaotic hostel hour in the kitchen very civilised. Although not targeted for us, Kinlay does a good job of creating community for guests with many activities to meet and do things in the city.

Beds were ok - not great. Better mattresses would be nice.

Ideal location, most places are just a walking distance! The breakfast as pretty decent actually for a hostel stay. I stayed in a few hostels throughout the journey, in Dublin and Paris included but this hostel was by far the best! The bed and room was very clean and not dusty, excellent! I asked for lower bunk bed, they left a cute note on the bed ❤️ There are cute paintings on the wall when you take the stairs. They rent out locks with deposit- so no hard selling. The great part is the free luggage storage if we need to store the luggage while out on day trip / to check out the surrounding area. The experience was so pleasant and really enjoyed it. Will come back in future❤️

The lift maybe haha it’s rather cute sized and a bit slow. Use it only when you bring up your luggages or when your legs gave up on you.

This is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in! Everything was clean, tidy, modern and functional. I had a feeling as if I was staying in a hotel, except for the fact that I was sharing a dorm and a bathroom with 5 other people. The breakfast was great and location is amazing. I love the fact they charge the same amount of money for mixed and female dorms. I stayed in a female dorm, but I don't think I would have any issues staying in a mixed dorm either. I felt completely safe and comfortable all around the premises. Will definitely book again if I'm ever back to Galway!
