The location was absolutely perfect - everything within a really short walk - it was in position A in a delightful town. We definitely intend to be back again and again!! We loved it!! The room was very well equipped (*no safe and I don't think it had a fridge?) but everything else was really nice and a separate work desk and table and 3 chairs - excellent! Guaranteed parking on site albeit a bit strange the way the parking was located around the hotel.
The only thing to flag is this hotel seems incapable of cooking fried eggs! The self-service breakfast was delicious except all days the fried eggs were overcooked and piled into a silver container to keep warm like at a poor motorway service station! Come on chef!!! Everything else was 10/10!! Staff were really well trained and attentive and super friendly.

All went well......We have been there now 2 years in a row....Loved it. We had an afternoon tea service and the staff was very helpful. We will always find a way to stay with you every time we come back to Kilkenny.
The front desk seemed a bit erratic on check in and gave us a room that had no lift in the apartment area. We specifically requested a lift and not stairs....I had a back injection just prior to traveling to Ireland and could not carry bags up or down stairs. It took a long time to change our room - but ended up at the same room we stayed at last year. Very pleased about that.

Breakfast was great. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, Staff upon check in were super friendly. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio and having a few drinks. The day was perfect weather wise. Thankful that parking was on site and accessible. the location is very central and for my sister, having a room that faced the castle was lovely. Sitting on the patio enjoying drinks was a bonus!
My sister was facing the water/castle side. We were on the opposite side. Despite us having 2 different locations, the "singing" and "partying" in the evening was very distracting for both of us, and didn't allow for a sound sleep. Put some ear plugs on and that helped. Not sure where this noise was coming from.

Where do I start...It was a spectacular stay--and I mean every word of that. We only booked one night before heading to Tramore to visit family afterwards. We had been to Kilkenny on another trip, enjoying it so much that a quick stop was necessary. Once again, it did not disappoint. we specifically chose this property due to its proximity to the many "must-see" in the area. Most importantly, the incredible medieval Kilkenny Castle, located across from the hotel, allows us to book a *castle-view* room, which we'll delve into shortly. Other sought-after points of interest close by were the Doweger's home ( literally next door--look up the story behind that ) and the many other buildings that once belonged to or were strategically part of the Castle grounds at one time or another. We particularly enjoyed the incredible view of the river just off the extended and stunning al fresco patio, which is a fav of anyone looking for lunch with a view or even a few cocktails while you watch the boat tours and kayakers amble by. The weather was a highlight at 22 degrees Celsius in late September--adding more WOW factor to our short stay. We walked into town easily, enjoying the quaint boutique shops and lovely restaurants. The location was a key consideration for us when travelling, and this property was spot on! We stayed in the largest suite in the hotel with oodles of rooms, including a gorgeous living area, fireplace nook, separate bedroom with a king bed and the washroom--so beautiful that I took a bath. The suit has six windows facing all sides, so many pics were taken of the Castle and its surroundings. The food was yummy, and the service was excellent. We will be back---Thank you so much for making our 25th anniversary so special :)
Nothing--it was awesome!! No complaints from us, and we never heard any from others. Being a Travel Agent from Canada, I often hear both sides of my client's experiences during their vacations, and I can confirm that all guests looked very pleased.

We loved everything about this hotel - so much so that we extended our stay in Ireland and booked a second night in the hotel. The staff was exceptional! They accommodated our request for early check-in, made recommendations on what to do and see... just a truly cheerful group of people. The room we were given was in the newly renovated wing overlooking the river and the street, but they had soundproof windows so we heard no street noise. Huge windows on either side of the room filled it with light. It was large and lovely. The breakfast was in the large sunny restaurant and had everything you could think of for choices. They had a bar with tables outside on the river with a direct view of Kilkenny Castle on the other side... I can't say enough about this hotel. If you're going to Kilkenny don't even consider staying anywhere else.

The hotel is located right in the center of Kilkenny, next to the river, with a view of the castle, although not every room has a window on the river. The style of the hotel is old fashioned now, and may not suit a young taste, but it has its charm nevertheless. The room we slept in was next to the street, but with a view on the inner courtyard. It was spacious, clean and cozy. The bathroom was equipped with a bathtub. In the morning the most traditional Irish/English breakfast was available at a buffet (rashers, sausages, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes), but other options were available, such as yoghurt, porridge, fruit salad, scones, cereals. Different tastes of juice,.coffee, tea with vegetable milks were offered. Highly recommended.
Even being very peaky, it was hard to find anything distasteful at all. Just a stain on the room ceiling, but it did not impact negatively our staying.

This hotel is in a great location next to the river, within easy walking distance of the city's attractions, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. My room was small, but it was quiet and with a comfortable bed. Friendly welcome from staff on reception. Good breakfast, but limited space in the dining room meant a long queue after 9am. Car parking is included, but a large part of it is around the back in an overflow area outside the hotel grounds.
The shower head over the bath had not been cleaned in a while and needed a good wipe to get decent water flow out of it.

Well managed, clean and comfortable, pleasing décor, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection - one of the best in this kind of hotel, pleasant restaurant location looking across the river to the castle. Food was all of excellent quality and well presented. We were blessed with a super waiter, very responsive, and presented us with a little "extra" when he learned we were there for a wedding anniversary. Good sized bedroom and en-suite, very clean with a strong shower over the bath. Mattress a tad firm for our liking, but comfortable nonetheless.
Dinner menu not extensive; we ate there two nights but if we'd stayed another we would have eaten elsewhere to get variety. Several dishes were what I call "lazy chef" - potatoes and mashed potato placed on the plate with the meat 'dumped' on top. (We did like the mashed potato!)

Really nice hotel in an excellent location to explore Kilkenny and surrounding areas. A stone's throw from Kilkenny Castle and lots of pubs and restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to safely cater for coeliacs for breakfast. I had noted upon booking that I have coeliac disease, and for breakfast received a separate tray with a large selection of packaged gluten free products so that no cross-contamination could occur, as well as fruit. They also made fresh hash browns, sausages, mushrooms and a fried egg for me, separately and freshly prepared, all of it safely gluten free. Absolutely recommended!

Breakfast was incredible. Staff were friendly and kind, more than willing to help with any requests. Bedroom was incredibly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.
We stayed in the bridgehouse, there were 2 types of window in the room. Modern windows inside and older windows outside from the original building. The set up of the windows made it extremely hard to air out and cool the room. We ended up relying on a fan supplied by reception for airflow, as the outer windows did not open. Elevator in the bridgehouse made very concerning groaning, creaking and banging noises while inside.
