James and Michelle really went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. We travelled with a 3 month old baby and staff really couldn’t do enough. Absolutely fab service. This is the second time we have stayed here and so friendly!

The room was good, the location was brilliant, together with parking. On our first evening, we returned to have a drink in the hotel bar - we had a wonderful chat to the barman, who was charming.

We stayed for 2 nights. The first breakfast experience was lovely, the second, we may have been forgotten as we waited around 20 minutes waiting to order our cooked breakfast. This felt a little awkward and, being a woman of colour, it's easy to jump to conclusions, but I would like to hope it was a simple oversight - maybe each server thought our order was taken. I travel all over Europe for work and it's very rare to be forgotten - but not unusual. We liked this hotel and the Receptionists and the bar staff were very welcoming.

Location and clean

Positive experience overall. Location was very good. Place was clean. Relatively good value. Staff OK. however when letting us in at night-made to feel almost suspicious before being let in. We were very aware of having to give details of our reservation before being let in the first door. Two sober, orderly women on a quiet midweek night. The staff member who let us in appeared overly cautious in our situation. Not much leeway with the parking next day either but maybe this couldn't be helped.

Staff was friendly. Even though we arrived early and couldn't check in, staff stored our luggage until our rooms were ready. Rooms were clean and quiet. Elevators had a no touch options by waving your hand in front of the sensor to summon the elevator and you room card took you to the correct floor. Hotel is less than 400 meters from the castle and rooms have castle views.

Parking is at a separate location about 400 meters from the entrance of the hotel. The parking lot can get very packed.

The location was unbeatable, just minutes away from the castle and next to restaurants and nightlife. We also appreciated the car park, which was included in the booking. Breakfast was great - definitely try the orange juice.

There was construction going on while we were there, so we did wake up in the morning to drilling noises. We woke up around 8:30am, which isn't very early, so we imagine drilling didn't start until 8, which is reasonable (although we would have preferred 9am).

Amazing breakfast. No buffet but served on the table with excellent choice for 15 Euros. Location is fine, very near the castle. It is a bit far from the Big green bus stop, but the town is small and with normal luggage it is managable. The room was very big and the window could be opened which is something I like. I had a nice view of the cathedral.

They told me at the check in that the room would not be cleaned unless I asked for it. I don`t like this approach in general, because in such an expensive hotel I would assume that it gets cleaned unless I ask for it not to be cleaned. The room was a bit too cold for me. There was no process in place to check the health of the guests and I was placed on a table right next to a person whose partner was isolating in the hotel room with Covid.

The whole ambience of the hotel was very welcome by friendly staff. The staff ensure that all of its customer expectation were met without hesitation. Both the food for breakfast and dinner were exemplary and added taste of delight. Well worth a return visit.

There is nothing I didn't like but more concern on three issues. 1) The elevator is worked by means of sliding palm and card simultaneously to access the room floor. The concern is where the sliding of the palm is required, is a worry if its recording the prints of palms that can breach GDPR. 2) The second concern is something similar to above but it's not facilitated to cater for the visual impaired. 3) The third issue, is that consideration should be taken in respect of the high raise Bath for those that are less able to get into it.

The property is located close to pubs, restaurants as well as the Kilkenny castle and other attractions. The rooms were comfortable. The rooms had a Nespresso machine, but unfortunately no decaf pods were available, but staff brought us some decaf coffee to the room, it smelt and tasted amazing! Staff were friendly, helpful and really kind. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

The hotel was a short walk from Kilkenny Castle and centre. We stayed for 3 nights and never had to use our car. We booked an executive room with no breakfast option. We enjoyed not rushing for breakfast as we were a short walk from lots of cafes and restaurants. Our room was big and airy with everything we needed. It was modern and exceptionally clean. We were delighted to find no decorative pillows or throws on the bed. The mattress was so comfortable and we had air-conditioning which was very welcome due to the hot weather. The staff were friendly and helpful.Your key card gives you access to lifts, etc so none residents just cannot get into the hotel. Felt very safe and at home. We will definitely visit The Pembroke again!

Requested access to the only e-charging space and was advised it would be available. However,I was advised on arrival that it had been occupied by one car for the previous 2days and that they were still trying to contact the car owner and that I would be advise accordingly...however I had no further updates on the matter. Ironically,as we left the next morning it was very irritating to see the car leaving the charging space!
