Delighted we chose this Hotel, on arrival we were welcomed by a very nice guy at reception named Shane who always asked how our days went, in fact all reception and the rest of the staff were lovely and always had time to talk to you, the room was well laid out and had plenty of storage space with tea and coffee and a fresh bottle of water every day, there is a hair dryer and if you need an iron you just ask at reception, the bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows, the bathroom had an amazing shower with no shortage of hot water and toiletries were provided, both rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. The food was delicious and a great breakfast served to order which set you up for the day, even though it’s a small boutique Hotel it has a lift which was handy and never any waiting for it, and once you walk outside you are in the centre of Kilkenny, lots of shops pups and restaurants within walking distance, and a very short walk to the Castle (a must see) . An extra bonus is they have their own car park to the back of the hotel which is safe and secure, entering and leaving is operated by a security barrier, all in all we had a fabulous time here and will definitely 💯 be back, Thank you Zuni

I'd stayed here before many years ago and was happy to see that Zuni has maintained its high standards. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful, and there are many personal touches that you don't often find in hotels, which as a solo woman traveller, I greatly appreciated. Breakfasts are cooked to order and are excellent, as is the food in the restaurant. I felt very much at home here and plan on returning at the earliest possible opportunity.

The restaurant ventilation could definitely stand improving. The odors from the kitchen were overpowering in the mornings as breakfast was being prepared.

Very spacious double room, good size bathroom with a bath tub, great water pressure in shower. Breakfast was very good,basic selection but very good food and service. the location was fantastic very close to all the City Centre and Kilkenny Castle. Hotel Restaurant was excellent, great food and fantastic selection of wines, Restaurant and Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Has off street, secure parking to the rear of the hotel.

There was nothing not to like about Zuni.

The room is small but very clean and recently remodeled. It could use more outlets to charge devices. The room is serviced each day! The breakfast is fantastic and serviced in a cafe with a nice vibe. The food is great. The restaurant is first class. Also, the location is perfect. close to shopping; the medieval mile museum; and the castle

We got up very early one morning and the hot water was not turned on yet. I think that when you stay in a hotel it there should be 24/7 hot water

Louise, at the main desk, was SUPER! It was a little tricky for us to find our way to the private parking lot behind the hotel, so she literally talked us through it on the phone! She was also so upbeat and enjoyable to talk with during our stay! The included breakfast was outstanding! What a great introduction to Irish cuisine!! The room was small, but not cramped, and very clean. The hotel is on the "Medieval Mile" and the perfect location to see castles, cathedrals, and the river. Dining and shopping were all close by and exceptional. Be sure to check out the Smithwick's Experience and learn the history of Ireland's oldest beer while learning how to pour the perfect pint! Also, don't miss Duggans Menswear, a 5th generation purveyor of fine men's furnishings. Lunch at the Marble Bar was delicious, too!

Initially, we had trouble regulating the temperature in our room, which was just a little too warm. Immediately, the hotel staff sent up a nice floor fan and showed us how to turn off the heat. So, A+ for staff helping us quickly resolve the issue.

The property was so central - we didn’t need to use the car at all during our stay. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent.

Our room was in a slightly awkward position - to get to it we had to go two steps down and then three steps up which was really awkward with a suitcase, I am slightly disabled and there was nothing to hold near these steps apart from the wall! When we got to the room we discovered there was no Wi-Fi coverage- a member of staff tried to sort this but it seemed to be a black spot so nothing could be done. Maybe the hotel was full - though it didn’t seem that busy but no one suggested that we move to a room that did get Wi-Fi which is very slightly disappointing. These two issues just stopped Zuni from being a perfect 10!

Full Irish breakfast was very satisfying and held us over till supper time. The wait staff at breakfast were delightful ladies , the location was easy, walking distance to many of the attractions in Kilkenny. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious.

The carpets were definitely worn and stained in some areas. In the off-season they could be replaced for sure. We were thrilled that there was on site, free parking, however, it was a little difficult to locate upon our arrival.

Dinner was superb…dinner service was exceptional. Breakfast service was equally as good….served in trendy bar/cafe area on 1st morning and then restaurant on 2nd. Great choice on offer and ‘the Canadian ‘ as she called herself was so attentive and super helpful. I can’t recall a stay I’ve had where all of the staff we interacted with were so so welcoming and friendly.

The occasional noise from the heating pipes as they heated up and cooled down….a slight annoyance but didn’t take anything away from a brilliant hotel stay.

Rooms were very modern, clean, well furnished. Was grateful for the parking.

I booked the room very last minute. When we arrived the desk clerk said it included breakfast. She provided us with the hours of availability and the location. The next morning we went down and the clerk said that is was NOT included. I did later review the reservation and saw breakfast was not included but was disappointed as the clerk had earlier said it was. Overall, was a great stay!

Staying at Zuni has been a highlight of our visit to Ireland. I was travelling with my 85year-old mum who is blind and quite deaf. My father, her husband of 65 years, died a year ago last week so the visit to Ireland, and particularly the counties of Kilkenny and Carlow, the home of her ancestors before the Great Famine, was an important distraction. Your welcoming staff, ideal location and excellent service was exactly what we needed. Thank you. We look forward to recommending you to anyone plans a visit to Ireland.

This may be the first review I have ever written in which I have nothing to criticise. It is most out of character for me not to find something to grizzle about.
