The Castle is stunning the grounds are very impressive. Inside is how you imagine a Castle to look. It’s obvious the owners take pride in their hotel and it is well maintained and looked after
The check in was disappointing we arrived early at 2.30 understandably we were asked to come back at 3 . We went to the bar and returned to reception at 3 but the room still wasn’t ready we had to wait a further 25 min we got to our room at 3.30 . The hotel could do with a designated bar as opposed to a bar that serves mainly as a restaurant. Our room in house number 5 was unbelievably hot at night . I was looking forward to a bath the next day before breakfast but there was no hot water for either a bath or a shower . We went to breakfast after a cold shower and checked out .

It’s all very beautiful and expensive. The grounds are nice. The staff are helpful and courteous. Food was good quality and well made. It’s old but doesn’t smell damp. Ceilings are generally high and the weather was frosty, but the heating was effective and it wasn’t chilly anywhere.
Scratchy toilet roll. Same with the tissues. Seems ridiculous in such an expensive hotel. Horrible long journeys along thin corridors and up and down narrow stairways to get from our (courtyard) room to anywhere. Some of our rooms were a long trek across the grounds to get there, which wasn’t clear when booking. Getting there In the first place was a ghastly and very long drive on winding roads that made even the driver sick.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were tidy. Room service very fast and efficient
How tightly packed the restaurant was. There was another extremely rude guest staying at the time who was eating at the table beside us an older man from Texas who was extremely loud and rude towards other guests/ staff, his table was so close to ours I couldn’t as much as hear my partner talk we had to leave dinner early as he was so loud and rude, on our way out he made a rude comment to my partner, the staff did hear this and made a nice gesture of bringing us 2 glasses of preseco to our room. Really was a Pitty though as we didn’t get to enjoy our dining experience at the hotel

Before we checked in we had booked the afternoon tea and this was fabulous on a frosty day looking out at the beautiful grounds of the castle. We then checked into our amazing Courtyard room which was extremely comfortable and spacious. We decided to have bar food for dinner . We had hearty vegetable soup and freshly baked brown bread and the fish and chips and Chicken and chips with salad and coleslaw huge portions and so tasty.
This is our 4th time to stay in Cabra castle so we really love it. Only negative this time was the room above us had a very loud snorer staying in it so I didnt sleep well . Not much the hotel can do about that though.

Parking right outside the courtyard rooms, 1 minute walk which was well lit up to the hotel, good food at bar, good size bathroom&bedroom, smart tv, the maze effect feeling when walking around inside the castle, the exterior of the castle itself, well heated, nice toiletries (including conditioner!), friendly staff, even though our room was not in the hotel itself you still feel very much part of the hotel, nice breakfast, the historic aspects of the castle
Windows are hard to reach in the courtyard room that we were in, would have liked a safe in the room

Stunning setting, garden in the sun was splendid. Lovely lunch out on the terrace.
Found the staff as we checked in ‘unenthusiastic’ and somewhat dry. Zero conversation which was disappointing after a nearly two hour drive with our young excited children. Bar staff who were serving an admittedly busy outdoor terrace area with lunch also were poor. We were forgotten about several times by 3 different members of staff. I had to walk up to the bar to order myself, which was fine, except when I got there I was met with - ‘table service only’ and asked to return to my table.

Beautiful hotel set in lovely countryside. We had a courtyard room on the ground floor which we could park right outside. It was large, huge comfortable bed, great shower. We got the full Irish breakfast and it was delicious. Room had a sofa, table and chairs and TV, fast internet. Really nice lounges on the first floor and the restaurant looked nice, though we ate in the downstairs bar. Really comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The service in the bar for food was not good and of a much lower standard than everything else. We were shown to a table and forgotten about, tables arriving later got served before us. The food arrived very very quickly (under 5 minutes) which suggests it was made in advance. Quality of the good was ok thought. Then we ordered a dessert which didn’t arrive though the cutlery for it did. When we chased it up it came but we didn’t realise until later when we were back in our room (at the very opposite side of the hotel) that they had charged us twice for the dessert!! The receptionist at check out in the morning was quite abrupt and said there was nothing she could do as the accounts office was closed until Monday. A bit of a spoiler in an otherwise wonderful experience.

I loved the cosiness of my room, space, cleanliness and bed which was comfy! I loved the location, the views, the castle, food and staff. It was a needed peaceful stay for us and my fiancé was spoiled.
We loved our room- it just lacked a few facilities/ resources like a fridge, spare towels and extra toilet paper which is necessary as we stayed in a cottage away from the castle. The shower head was not a proper shower head neither, which meant I had less control of the water and so there were spillages over the bath. These things are minor and easily sorted... it did not ruin my experience at all!

The Cabra Castle Hotel was THE VERY BEST PART OF OUR TRIP! . We could have stayed in the hotel forever. It is located in a remote, rural area surrounded by nature and thousand of songbirds chirping everywhere. Its like being on heaven. We loved exploring the gardens, our room was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, the food was incredible, so fancy and so good! . You MUST rent a car to get there. It is very remote, about 1 1/2 hours from Dublin, in long, beautiful, winding country roads, in a small town called Kingscourt. We loved the peace and quiet and being away from the city. The perfect get away.
Our room could get pretty warm at night..we didn't know how to turn down the heat as they use radiators. But opening the windows helped a lot. We loved everything there.

The facility was beyond beautiful - both indoor and outside. The decorations were lovely in every public room of the castle. Our hotel room was stunning - we were so pleased. Our dinner in the dining room was outstanding. Food was delicious and our server, Brenda?, was just so friendly and fun. A wonderful evening!
Breakfast was a disappointment. I could not find anything on the menu that I liked and I am not too fussy. However, it took a very long time to have someone wait on us. There was a buffet full of wonderful items, but I did not get coffee until I was ready to leave. People were not friendly, they seemed to be angry at each other.
