I just stayed for one night and i was there as was working locally that night. Felt very welcome by Kamala(Host) and just felt like stepping back into history with this house which has so much character to it. The gardens are beautiful the only down side was that I couldnt spend time enjoying the facilities as I was in work mode. The mattress on the bed was the best I have a history of back problems and felt very supported by the mattress lovely confortable sleep . Would love to spend a fw nights here when not working.

Liked everything about the house and the friendly dogs and the view out from the kitchen area is beautiful.

I loved everything. The location is idyllic. I have never experienced peace, quiet, calm like that before. I knew i had hit on something very special the moment i turned into the tree lined drive. My trip was not a leisure trip, but my evenings became so, from the very evening I arrived. Ballynona House has such presence and character. Kamla is a very welcoming and helpful person. Any future trips I make to that part of Cork and I already know where I am staying.

The only bad bit was leaving. If I didn't have to get back to Dublin I would have extended for one night so that I could have enjoyed one more evening and a nice relaxing morning which I couldn't do while there due to early starts.

Honest review. Ballynona's a lovely old country house now serving as a B&B. The long, tree lined driveway is wonderfully foreboding. Dark and mysterious. Game of Thrones-esque! Plenty of parking (very much off-road) Entering the house is stepping back a century-plus-a-bit but, with electric light and plumbing. Ever-so-slightly tired looking decor but, that only lends to the experience. Lotsa early 19th century stuff going on, augmented by modern day convenience. My room, for my single occupancy, was very spacious. A bit dark. Only two very small sash type windows but they overlooked a garden that would be magnificent with a bit of TLC. My bed was lovely 'n comfy. I slept very, very well. Motorcycle rider friendly. Kamla, a truly lovely lady, manages the property and is a magnificent hostess.

Stairs to the rooms will be a challenge for some elderly or mobility challenged folk. It's a dark place at night. No ambient light. It was a long way from my bed to a light switch and 'going to the shared bathroom at night down, then up two wee stairways would pose the same dilemma for folk as mentioned above. You will get more convenience for the same price at a pre-fabbed purpose built B&B. But not the same olde-worlde feel.

Quirky guesthouse situated overlooking Middleton, narrow roads in need of some tarmac in places, easy to find on google maps and Kamla had messaged a postcode to use. Old historic looking house, a bit tired but very quirky. Massive room and a heated blanket on the bed. Good wifi 84mbps! Kamla is lovely and friendly and a great host. For a one night trip where I had brought my dinner and wine to save going back out, it was fine. Value for money and loads of character.

No coffee making facilities in the room. Drastic!! If I come back I will bring my own makings!!

The building was very clean and well kept. We got a very warm welcome from the host, and a filling breakfast in the morning. The house is in a nice quiet area a bit off from Midleton. The room was cozy and spacious. At breakfast we had a nice chat with the host, and she told us about the history of the house, and gave us some great tips for where to go next. The atmosphere was super friendly overall.

We kept hearing bird noises from within the walls of our room. The host mentioned that sometimes birds like to live in it. It wasn't very loud, and didn't keep me up at night but it did scare me sometimes

Kamla and I emailed a few times prior to arrival - quick & easy communication. She really made the stay enjoyable. She's an excellent cook and made us a full Irish breakfast.....as much as we wanted to eat. Comfortable kitchen where we sat, ate, drank coffee, talked and talked and talked. Kamla is a superb host....made my first Irish B+B experience truly enjoyable, memorable, repeatable, and unforgettable. Great Wi-Fi....great views of the serene countryside; I loved the QUIET !

Has nothing to do with the property itself, but I'm almost too big for small Irish shower stalls ! I did fit inside the stall, but just barely. I laughed and laughed and laughed that I might've been stuck in there.

This place is full of surprises. The hostess Kamla is great, very welcoming. It is a lovely grand period house. I got unexpected upgrade, a lovely spacious room with private bathroom. I was supposed to get a room with a shared bathroom. There was no TV and no tea making facility. I did not mind, I got tea on arrival. It was certainly out of the ordinary. In the morning I got complementary tea and toast. Again, I did not expect any complimentary breakfast. It was all just nice and different.

Little bit of clean up around the house would make a big difference. The road leads to the back of the house, there is a large door without a bell, so I was confused as to where to go.

The house is quite old so you felt like you were immersed in history, the bed was unbelievably comfortable, the room was so warm and cosy. We had plentiful hot water for both of us to have baths. Kamla was so kind and welcoming and we loved chatting with her about the history of the house and the surroundings. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Not much to say here, everything was great and have no complaints

This place was different, but for the right reasons. It was out in the country, quiet and hard to find. Run by a lovely lady who seemed to manage the entire place alone. In appearance it was a run down manor house but this added to its charm. Interesting history here: https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/buildings-search/building/20906629/ballynona-house-ballynona-south-cork

Thanks to the lady of the house (and the friendly dogs) for welcoming.guests warmly. Very comfortable bed in an otherwise sparse room. The shared bathroom worked out nicely. Breakfast at a communal table was quite a nice way to start the day. Beautiful quiet surroundings, easy to find, and an old house with character.

I'd prefer a shower to a bath to save time in the morning.
