Booking had advised that half board was included in the price however this was only for 1 night . The hotel indicated that the e-mail confirmation I received from them would have corrected this misconception ...however I did not see this highlighted anywhere ....I did not review the confirmation from the hotel prior to being informed that the package was only for 1 night ...however the food on offer was eexcellent and I was not too bothered by having to pay for the second dinner . This might not have been possible for other people !

The Junior Suite that we had was very spacious with great views across the estuary. Breakfast was excellent in terms of both quantity and quality and sitting on the balcony in the sunshine you could imagine you were somewhere in the Mediterranean! The staff were especially friendly and helpful.

The one let down was the dinner menu in the bar restaurant. The dishes were all religiously labeled as to possible allergic ingredients but the classification was vague e.g. 'nuts'. We could not ascertain which particular nuts were in any one dish and as 75% seemed to have this designation the choice for anyone with a specific nut allergy was very limited. Please make a list of ingredients available if diners need to enquire as to the details.

The manager man that was on when I stayed was fair sound made great con and made it feel like home. Couldn’t meet a sounder man and the young blonde girl that was with his that night was very nice and very accommodating too…they should be looking for a big raise and I will be saying it to my contacts too.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your hotel. Staff so professional and welcoming, very helpful with any questions I had. Food ~ top notch ~ enjoyed the hearty beautifully cooked breakfasts each morning, served so well and the wide selection of food items on offer. Enjoyed 3 course dinner in the bar ~ each course beautifully presented and tasty ~ so glad I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner ~ highly recommend. Room with sea view, spotless with everything provided ~ thank you housekeeping for making my stay so comfortable. Overall would love to have stayed longer. ~ maybe next year.

Very well located hotel on the sea/riverfront. Great facilities and an excellent restaurant with an interesting menu. Excellent friendly staff.

No complaints whatever about the hotel. And there's plenty to do for a two-night stay within walking distance around the town. But the tourist infrastructure for Youghal leaves much to be desired. Youghal has many very interesting historical features, buildings and landmarks, but you need to look hard to find information about them. The heart of the town is fairly vibrant, but there are many derelict and semi-derelict buildings and closed-down retail outlets close to the town centre which let the town down.

The breakfast was good. Staff was possibly stretched thin. But once they realized we had not been taken care of they brought us coffee. They could have checked back with us. We got what we needed eventually. I own a tour company and wanted to decide if I would use Walter Raleigh Hotel for my groups. I do only 16 people max. 8 to 10 rooms would be required at the most. So I did a little FAM trip this time to Ireland. I am very impressed with this hotel! Thank you! Wee Group Tours Rebecca Armstrong

The only thing that comes to mind is that no one mentioned the Aurora Borealis was happening! We didn’t watch the news and knew nothing about it. I was very upset that we missed it! The staff could have mentioned this historic event! Otherwise it was a very nice visit!

The hotel was in a great location. Staff were friendly and warm . The room was great beautiful views over water.

I believe there’s a significant opportunity to elevate the hotel and unlock its full potential. For instance, hosting tea dances in the ballroom could be a charming addition to the offerings. Given that it's the only hotel left in Youghal, it could play a pivotal role in bringing the community together and attracting visitors. Manager and staff was obliging.

Fabulous room, spotlessly clean overlooking the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the bar was good, and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Bar was busy, but there w were lots of sraff on. Breakfast was good, nice array of fresh fruit. Usual full irish but could order off the menu. Overall, a good experience would return.

There could be a bit more sinage as in from car park into hotel Both days I returned before room was serviced, I was asked on both days if I wanted it serviced, 1st day I said yes, 2nd day didn't bother, staff were very nice, and did a brilliant job, but felt it should be done earlier in the day as a matter of course. This I feel is on management, not on the staff who were as I said very nice and did a good job.

The staff were friendly and professional . The room was superbe and the food was very good . Hotel was clean comfort and the weekend was really enjoyable . The weather was terrible but between the showers we had sunny spells . The town has great little shops with friendly people . One flower shop made up two window boxes for me and the price was very good even with the extra work involved . The pottery shop was beautiful too. The hotel food from breakfast to lunch to dinner was of a high standard . We weren’t rushed and we really enjoyed our meals .

Some clients were in larger groups but there was plenty of room to find a quieter spot . We really didn’t not like anything .we got complimentary scones and tea on one evening and the service was exemplary. We felt very welcome and valued as guests.

Everything, staff,food,cleanliness, can't fault a thing.thumbs up to brian for all his help in recommending places to go for resevering our table on the balcony for our evening meal ,you better be careful or he will be head hunted by board failta all the staff where brilliant even the bus driver that brought us back to and from the hotel 😀

Everything was great. I have sang your praises to everyone one and I hope to return soon. I can now understand why you have so many returning customers 🙌
