The view from the Bay Hotel over Ballycotton Bay and the lighthouse is exceptional. We loved spending a quiet evening to ourselves in the living room on the second floor, reading a book with a glass of wine after a busy day walking the cliff loop. The floor to ceiling window provided a viewpoint that made you feel you were almost in the sea! We had dinner in the restaurant on Saturday evening and it was delicious. Excellent service, excellent staff, excellent location, lovely room; I highly recommend the Bay Hotel for a short break.

Everything was perfect.

Delicious breakfast, interesting options. Location fantastic if you like a slow relaxed pace. Basking sharks circling in the water just under our window and steps and a path down to the coastline if you fancied a bit of rockpooling or getting closer to the basking sharks. Great little enclosed garden for games or family fun. There was a wedding booked in for Saturday and the capacity for full family togetherness was just brilliant, the openness and safety combined to make this quite a special find for those with children. And for those leaving the kids behind, it offered tranquility, wonderful views, a cliff walk, good pubs and if you time it right, a music gig at Sea Church 🤩

Could have used a little dewintering on the outside of the property.

Everything about this stay was exceptional. Staff were extremely hospitable. On the first night, I needed a quick lift up the village to Sea Church for a gig. The receptionist (Suzanne?) tried as many numbers as possible to secure a lift, and while we could not secure one, she went the extra mile to try to do so. Later that night, Denis the night porter was very hospitable and helpful, and is probably the most knowledgeable man in Ballycotton! The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide ranging cold buffet and great hot options. I did not catch the staff members' names at breakfast but they were very kind and provided excellent service. The room was stunning with a fabulous view over the bay and of the lighthouse. Very comfy. Overall great location, great hotel. 10/10.

The view was amazing, and the rooms, patio, lounge and restaurant seemed to be arranged to take full advantage of this. Was such a lovely experience -- we were there for our 1st wedding anniversary and will be back in future. Possibly an annual return! The dinner was exceptional as well. Also liked that the location and food felt luxurious, but was not at all aloof or snooty. We were always comfortable and the people working at the hotel and restaurant were warm and welcoming.

The bed was a little firm, but that's a personal preference issue. The sheets were lovely.

It was a lovely place to stay and had a flight. The next day just definitely took all the boxes.

The rooms could be dusted and there were a couple holes in the walls by the switches but apart from that it was all good. The afternoon dinner was very awesome but when I went to have breakfast it was cold. Maybe if you got there earlier it might be a lot more hotter, apart from that I enjoyed my stay. I’ll definitely come back again.

The location and views are incredibly. With friendly attentive staff. Hotel was homely and cosy. Staff are an asset and definitely have the charm of the Irish.

Decor definitely needs updating. Where places have excessive where and tear. Rooms where not kept clean with dusty areas and bathroom are old with mould and mildew over tiles and grout. Shower curtains are great in this day and age. Door frame is cracked and looks like gaps . And the doors don't close softly so there's nights of banging doors which aren't great. Ceiling by door looked like it was water damage which looked old and made the room feal uncared fore. House keeping didn't keep tea coffee water condiments topped up and had two ask acouoke of times for items.

The team are fabulous, nothing too much trouble. Rooms are exceptionally good since the refurb and the views are of course stunning.

Ah, those showers.... they could do with a little attention... the only thing that isn't top notch. And if I'm being picky, can you move the blinding floodlight in the car park, it's tricky to see where you're going when this is at eye level.

the view, just outstanding, this is without a doubt the most magical thing about this hotel, our room was beautiful just facing out to the bay,

we had went for a walk to look around the village which was just beautiful, we came back hoping to have dinner in the restaurant, at 7.30 to be told no sorry, there is nothing, now we watched people enter the restaurant after that, people were eating but we couldnt even get a thing, 3 courses or nothing was then our option, my mother isnt a big eater and couldnt have eaten 1 full course never mind 3 as isnt in the best health, so we asked could we even just have a side order in our room, but no, i found this very odd that you couldnt accomodate residents but obviously they are your rules and so be it, so i then had to drive to the local shop 3km away to get some snacks so mum could take her medicaation, the receptionist was lovely and gave us plates and extra milk for a cup of tea

Absolutely beautiful. We had a lovely room with balcony and fantastic sea views. Room was very spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is spotless and the staff were so friendly. We didn’t eat there but definitely next time. Taghy the bartender was a credit to the hotel. I would definitely recommend a visit to the hotel.

Would have liked breakfast to be included in the hotel price.

Location was absolutely beautiful, the staff was incredibly helpful- we came after the restaurant closed and all restaurants in the town had closed and they made me a lovely sandwich. The rooms were very clean and had every amenity we needed. The windows to the sea made the room for me.

Nothing.
