Tranquil Water was an absolutely perfect stay. I chose it because of the beautiful view and location in the Irish countryside and I was not disappointed! The accommodation was so cozy and every need was met. The location was remote, but had stunning views, and was so peaceful. Mary was an incredible host who has a warm and inviting energy. Honestly, I had the perfect tranquil birthday out in the Irish countryside and Mary made it feel special and homey. I cannot recommend Tranquil Water enough, and I am looking forward to my next trip out there. One note, if you are not travelling by car, be aware of the accessibility the location is by public transit. You can still take a bus in from Cork, but make sure you do your shopping in advance before you arrive so you can truly be tranquil when you're there. ;)

The bus only runs three times a day M-F, so be aware of that if you're travelling via public transport. There is also the possibility to take taxis!

It was actually more lovely than pictured. We stayed at the Haven, it was bigger than we expected, was spotlessly clean and truly peaceful and tranquil. Mary was so helpful ( we had phone problems) and had great recommendations for places to eat and get groceries. She even delivered freshly baked scones and homemade jam even though the Haven is self catering. Mary made our stay memorable just by her friendliness and thoughtful touches ( fresh flowers the day we arrived!)

Nothing, everything was wonderful!

Mary was an excellent host. She was pleasant, extremely knowledgeable about the area, and happy to share. The area was beautiful, and close enough to Cork to feel central though the house is in a rural setting. The rooms were clean and well-appointed and breakfast was plentiful and diverse. Over our 4-day stay it was never quite the same, and I appreciated finding little surprises every morning. I can't recommend staying here enough.

This is out of Mary's control, but the only restaurant option within easy walking distance is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so plan ahead if there on those days. Luckily there are a few pub options within walking distance for a pint and conversation!

Mary is an exceptional host. We stayed in 11 accommodations on our trip to Ireland and Mary's charm and warmth was unmatched. On our first night she gave us a list of local spots to visit which were beautiful. Her homebaked treats for breakfast, vegan included, were delicious. The property has a beautiful view in a peaceful and lush setting. Aghada is a charming little village with friendly people and pretty views. Rosie's Bar is a great spot to visit just down the road. We'd definitely visit Tranquil Water again if visiting Ireland.

My only real complaint (well, see later) was that we only booked one night here. The views were sublime and the tranquillity...well tranquill! A lovely retreat for those seeking a base to explore Cork County and beyond. Mary was a fantastic host. Anyone doubting either her culinary skills with a scone or her dancing skills whilst preparing them as part of the healthy well-thought out breakfast need only reference the B&Bs Google account! She is a weonderful source of local knowledge of the best places to go and explore to maximise the benefit of your visit.

The tranquillity comes with a little price as the there is a little rural isolation and it resides high on a hill. Rosie's Bar, down on the bay is a gem of a pub/restaurant and you become a friend there very quickly. If they offer a ride back though I recommend you take it unless you have your own defibbrilator for the trip back up hill!!

We enjoyed our stay here so much! Mary is a wonderful host who provides you with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The house is lovely, we had a great view from our room and from the garden. We especially enjoyed having breakfast together with the other guests and chatting a bit, what a great way to start in the day! Thank you Mary for the delicious homemade food (Those scones! That raspberry jam! It was perfect!) and your warm welcome, we loved staying with you!

Nothing! We loved absolutely everything about it! :)

Well just like the reviews, Mary was a true Gem! All the little touches to make a guest feel welcome. The pod was fab, perfect for solo traveller, couple or two friend as their is a couch (I think can be made as a bed) Fridge, Microwave, Toaster, heating all packed in. Everything was thought of for this little getaway. The view, stunning. I travelled by public transport and scooter so it's do able without a car but it would come in handy to venture out to further locations. A great peaceful getaway I will always recommend. Also I travelled mid February which was super cozy, not just for the summer trips. It was a much needed time out. Also everyone I chatted to in the area were all so kind and helpful, must be something in the water 😇

This is more of a me and outdoorsy problem but when I seen a spider or two I reluctantly contacted Mary and the hero came right out to save the day.

Very tranquil setting and spectacular views from the garden and North-facing bedrooms. Warm and very friendly service. Comfortable and cosy rooms. The breakfasts are superb and include various cereals, nuts, yoghurt, fruit, ham, eggs, toast and home-made cakes and scones (quite a breakfast banquet). We had a hire car so travelling around was no problem (apart from many very narrow and winding roads). However, Rosie's Bars is only a few minutes walk away and there are some local take-aways that will deliver meals to Tranquil Water.

Absolutely no complaints.

Mary was a great host, location was nice and easy to find, great water view from our room, breakfast awesome, delicious scones, community table so it was nice to have a conversation with a fellow guest family one of our mornings. We walked 1/2 mile to the restaurant near the water, and had our reservation ahead of time at Mary's suggestion. It was great since there are not a lot of options close by. The food at Rose's (Rosie's?) was delicious. We found Mary to be welcoming and helpful and definitely this was one of our top two locations in our two week stay in Ireland.

Nothing! There are stairs to the room we had so it could be a problem for elderly or people with mobility issues.

The property was lovely, clean, well appointed with a beautiful claw foot bathtub and great rain shower shower head. The view from our bedroom, overlooking the river, was so peaceful and “tranquil”. It was misty and typical Irish weather which added to the charm! Mary was a wonderful host. The breakfasts were delicious, flaky scones and made to order eggs and all the fixings. We enjoyed getting to know Mary and her daughter. Mary was helpful in giving us “tourist” information and helping us plan our visit. We highly recommend Tranquil Water.

There’s nothing to dislike.
