The rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast was nice and staff very friendly. Location is in the middle of nowhere: need to drive 15-20 minutes to any facities and bus (stop in front) goes only every 2 hours but this was clear when at the time of booking). There were a lot of comments on the noice from the main road; because it was cold we didn't need to open the windows and it was low season and relatively quiet on the road so it didn't bother us.

I booked this place specifically for the attached restaurant - it had very good reviews and an appealing menu. However, 1 day before we arrived, we received a message that the restaurant would not be open on our first night. Would I have known this upfront, I probably would not have booked. On our second night , the restaurant was open but I was a bit underwhelmed: The bread was rock hard ( from the freezer maybe / or out too long?) and the dishes were really quite basic. It was a nice enough dinner but for the (high) prices I definitely expected a more.

It was immaculately clean , pleasant staff and although about 15 k from Cortina d’Ampezzo it was quite nice to get away from the hurly burly

I was very disappointed that the room didn’t have a fridge . We were there 4 nights on a hiking trip and every cold drink or hot drink requiring milk had to be purchased from their cafe . There wasn’t a shop anywhere near and you couldn’t store any cheese or such like to make up lunches for a day’s hiking . It wasn’t cheap to stay there so I thought a fridge would be an inclusion

Our early September stay here was great, we were hiking in the Dolomites and the location was central and perfect for the trails we hiked. The staff is terrific and the food is delicious.

The property is on the road basically. Our room was on the road side of the building and even though at night there are few vehicles going by, if you are a light sleeper they will likely wake you up. The rooms are clean, comfortable and basic.

Excellent location, only about 10-15 minutes from Cortina. I had a quite a large room that was very comfortable. I liked the quiet but warm heating system (which was needed because it got quite cold during my stay). The breakfast was excellent, a large variety of hot and cold food. As well as freshly made coffee (or tea) and juice. The restaurant was also excellent though a little pricey. Staff were also very warm and welcoming during my stay. Ample parking.

Excellent! Great room in a wonderful old building in the mountains, best staff and the food is just exceptional. The bed was comfortable with 2 pillows options, bathroom very clean and well equipped. Friendly and helpful staff, and the food is next level. Breakfast is tasty and rich with freshly baked rolls, home made jams and honey directly from the hive, and all the dishes were perfect what we chose for dinner. Highly recommended, we will come back again soon.

Rifugio Ospitale is little piece of luxury in the mountains. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent. I loved the sense and significance of history of the location, including the old well across the road that still serves as a point to get fresh drinking water.

Rifugio Ospitale is further from Cortina d'Ampezzo than I expected. Only 10-15 minutes drive, but after the long and windy roads within the Dolomites to get around, it felt isolated. This distance from town made it harder to get groceries/incidentals when we needed them.

Very nice personnel. Such a beautiful rifugio and restaurant. The beds were comfortable, the place spotless and clean. The rooms were pretty basic but spacious and we had everything we needed. It was perfect. The breakfast was fantastic. There was a lot of variety, very quality tasting food. The restaurant downstairs is gorgeous and the food very good.

Great views, big room, away from the hustle bustle. Close to a couple of scenic locations. Kid at the breakfast service was very courteous. The owners seem nice, only spoke for 2-3 mins with them.

A bit isolated, to eat dinner or buy anything you have to drive 15 minutes either way. Hotel's restaurant is a bit pricey. The strangest thing was that the hotel didn't have an iron to use. It was quite pricey for a bare bones accommodation (750$/ 2 nights). It's on the road so can't keep your windows open at night, quite noisy.

The room was huge. The breakfast (included) was great, as well as the dinners (extra payment). The host gave us perfect daily recommendations for day travels, which were very suited to the changing weather and the crowdedness. They were also kind to drive us to a starting point of a trail near their hotel, which by itself is a hidden gem of the locals. We were eating vegan and although the options aren't that many (in whole region), they understood what is vegan and how they can adjust their dishes.

Room was impeccably clean and very cute. I tried to find dirt with my bare feet but could find none. Restaurant was also very cute and delicious. We ate dinner here twice and one breakfast. Nicely curated selection of breakfast items. Staff was very accomodating and pleasant. We didn't think to make reservations for our second dinner since it was very quiet on a friday night, but it was a full house on saturday. They gave us seats in a nook by the bar. Thank you !

Strange motion-sensitive lights in the hallway that turned off very quickly. Maybe that's normal in Italy -or- I just don't know how to use a switch *shrug*
