Albergo San Giovanni is literal steps away from the city center. You will hear the bells of the Duomo ring in the morning. You will hear the musicians busking in the streets below. It's a ten minute walk from most places you want to visit. Additionally, for the time of the year that I spent here, the price for the stay was incredibly affordable. I would stay here again, just for its proximity to the liveliness of Florence's city center.

The shower in the shared bathroom was very small, but I think that's just the case for most showers in Italy. My door also was a bit difficult to open and shut. I felt like I made so much noise trying to get in and out of the room. There was a small fridge in the room, but it wasn't strong enough to keep food cold. Finally, because of its proximity to the city center, it'll be noisy, so if you're planning to go to sleep early, you may want to bring some noise cancelling headphones or earplugs.

Apartment No. 4 had the most fantastic view you could ever ask for. Everything—museums, restaurants, exhibitions, and cafes—was just a 5-minute walk from the apartment. It was safe, and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend it to all my friends! This will always be the place I return to whenever I stay in Florence.

The apartment could use some renovations, although they’ve maintained the classic Italian style. The shared bathroom was a bit of an issue, but it was clean. Overall, it’s good value for money.

The location was excellent, and the owner? was a very friendly guy, it's cool how the building is 700 years old too. The beds were also so comfy, and the pillows were great too! The room was very big!

Nothing really, for the price, it was brilliant. Considering there are hotels charging triple the price for the same views around this area, you can't get better at this price point. The only thing I'd possibly mention to improve is the showers, they were a little bit dirty and it got blocked quickly too whilst using the shower... But not a huge deal.

Location on Duomo couldn’t be faulted, a walk from everything. Located in a Beautiful historical 16th palace, the building was lovely! Great big room (6), fresco on ceiling, bed so comfortable. And table and chairs so we could come back from city sightseeing during day to have a little supermarket lunch in room. Felt very lucky to be able to stay here. Fan provided, appreciated.

Nothing. No facilities as such like breakfast, kettle, if that’s what you want, made no difference to us.

Excellent location and excellent service, the owner was so kind! It's a beautiful old building (which was a plus to us but obviously be aware that that means less amenities than some other places!). It was also very clean and again, the staff were very friendly!

Not a dislike exactly, but though the place does have a lift, anyone with accessibility issues should be aware that it is a single person lift that would not fit a wheelchair and requires you to climb a few stairs. Also our room did not have aircon - again! Not a flaw exactly but if you're coming in the summer be prepared (there is a fan provided though!).

The location of this hotel can't be beat! It's located in the heart of Florence, and most sights are a short walk away. I stayed at San Giovanni on a 97° day, and although my room had no air conditioning, it was still rather cool. I had a shared bathroom, but had no issues with it's cleanliness or availability. I found the hotel to be very quiet, even though it was fully booked. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

There is free WIFI in the common grounds only.

The location is perfect. Easy walking distance and central to all the main sights, from Bobili Garden to the Academia Museum. Staff was friendly and it was clean and safe.

The beds were firmer than our preference. I wish the showers had some sort of shelves or tray to put soap on. Multiple floors up via stairs or small one person elevator makes it more challenging if traveling with lots of luggage.

The location was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The view was amazing.

Because of its’ location (by the il duomo) it can get a bit loud at night. This could be solved with new windows that would isolate the city sounds better. It was pretty clean, but we found an old soap on the floor of the shower with hair on it upon arrival. This could indicate that the shower wasn’t cleaned properly.

We had the premium corner room (6) with private (but external) bathroom. The view was right onto the Duomo. You can't get any closer to the action. Room had a super high ceiling and great open floor space. Having the private bath was a great bonus, as we didn't have to wait for others during shower/restroom break peak times. Self check-in was great, with clear instructions, and, of course, very convenient.

Gorgeous location , you can see Duomo from window , most thing you can explore by foot.

Sound proof absolutely doesnt exist, my room was on second floor , and when double window is complitely closed , you can even hear when girl is walkind in high heels , and specialty noisy of people and musicans . For me its not a big deal , but its not recommended for a people who has difficulties with sleeping.
