The Locanda dal Moccia is a down-to-earth, honest and decent proposition for a brief stay in La Spezia. Its greatest advantage is of course the parking. The rooms were perfectly clean and breakfast was simple but in adequate quantities. WiFi and airconditioning were fine as well.

It is a pity that even in the summer the beautiful garden is not used. Also the 400-year old building could have been an expensive boutique hotel if everything was not maintained at the simplest possible level, nearly spartan (for example our room did not even have a fridge).

Breakfast simple but enough. The staff is the best! They helped us with information, took care of our luggage (we arrived some hours before the check in hour) and let us use the fridge and kitchen facilities. Beds are comfortable, room is cozy, building is very charming, neighborhood is quiet. The place has a nice yard with trees, flowers, tables and chairs to rest. We had a very good experience and totally recommend Locanda dal Moccia!

It's a little bit more than 20 minutes walking from/to the train station of La Spezia.

Check-in could have been smoother. Hard to get a hold of host, had to wait at the property for at least half an hour and then the lady who came didn't speak proper Italian and no English. The host apologized when I met him and was very nice so maybe it was an unusual circumstance. Also was hoping it was closer to the train station. The walk was a bit rough with my heavy backpack.

the hotel has quite a unique vintage vibe :) the equipment is older but stylish and clean. the rooms are small, but for a short stay its ok. bathroom has all you need. parking is available for free, even on the streets around.

i do not recommend the breakfast, it is way too little, just one croissant with jam. it was not worth it. also, fyi the hotel is 20min walking from the train station, which for some might be too far, we were ok with it.

The vibe of the place was really nice, purely Italian. Loved how it was a blend of a hotel and air b&b. We got breakfast every morning and the host also let us use the kitchen for midnight snacks. Host was super sweet and really quick at replying to all our queries.

The outdoor area needs maintenance. Bathroom was really small and didnt have a lock.

beautiful and quiet old house with a lush garden, dark and green, where you can relax if you don’t fear mosquito bites 😉 in the evening you’re in walking distance to some nice restaurants in the morning fabulous breakfast with divine fresh red orange juice and fruit salad and crispy croissants

the parking necessitates an ace of the wheel, my husband managed what I thought would be an impossible feat! I am awed! the air conditioning is old and tired, we had 25 to 28 *C at night

A wonderful quaint property - perfect to get a feel of authentic Italian culture. The host was very lovely and waited for us to check in as it was late. He showed us to the room which was beautiful and had a view to the their gorgoeus garden. The breakfast was light and fresh and they even let us store our luggage there while we explored the city a bit more. It is located close to the train station maybe a 15min walk and has access to buses all round.

It was very nice and cozy place and the owner was super helpful and kind with everything we needed. He let us use the refrigerator and freezer for our food and drinks. He let us use the parking lot a few more hours after our check out.

Our host was very friendly and helpful and phoned a nearby pizzeria , Capriolina, to make a reservation for us , and the food there was very good and cheap. The bedroom was massive and very clean.

The garden area needs a little tidy up .

Great place to stay a little outside of La Spezia (5 min with the local bus). The house was old and beautiful and the terrace was a life saver during the hottest hours of the day. Fabio was a perfect host and we couldn't be happier with our stay! Don't miss out on a restaurant visit to the local place. Highly recommend!
