We loved this B&B within a 20 minute walk of Lucca. From rooms that are comfortable, full of character, and had everything we needed to a breakfast and pool area with delicious food and a lovely swimming experience - we really couldn't ask for more. We also rented bikes from the hotel to go into town and that was a highlight. The staff are exceptionally kind and hard working. Lucca itself is lovely. The city is filled with quaint and sophisticated shops, great food, and beautifully maintained streets. There is a lot of culture there and entertainment like concerts or street performers. We really enjoyed visiting the many towers and seeing the epic views as well.

The only thing we'd change is that one of the bikes we rented needed the seat to be fixed as it tilted upwards as the ride went along.

Fantastic warm pool set in lovely well maintained gardens. Good to have pool service for drinks. Excellent breakfast by the pool. Plenty of choice hot and cold. Helpful friendly staff. Especially the young man - we don’t recall his name we’re sorry! Plenty of on-site parking. Great AC Nicely restored buildings

The property is located further away from the walks of Lucca than we expected . It is a 15 minute walk to Porta SantAnna. Nearly 20 in the heat - it was very hot. Taxi only €10 We had chosen the attic room. This was not a good choice for us as we were staying for 3 nights and had 1 months luggage. The room was on the 4 th floor with no lift. It’s 51 steps to the room. The room is small and dark with little storage space if staying for more one night and it has only 1 very very small window - as per the photo on the website. The same in the bathroom . There are other better room options we chose chose badly for our needs.

A stunning property and complete get away from the hustle and bustle of Lucca. Only a 15 minute walk into the centre of Lucca, we loved that we could enjoy both the sights and liveliness of the centre and total relaxation by the pool. The room (8) was spacious with fabulous views. The breakfast was self service with everything you could possibly want to start your day.

We had to wait about 15 minutes to get into the property. After walking from the train station with our luggage it was frustrating that we then had to wait. We rang the bell and telephone but no answer. Maybe the gate code could be sent on the day of arrival just so when the staff are busy you can at least get into the grounds. The tea/coffee tray only had 1 teabag & 2 coffee sachets, these didn’t get replaced on day 2 so we couldn’t have a drink in our room. I know this is minor but we do love a cuppa first thing.

The setting was stunning. The description online was very accurate. The staff were faultless. Very welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very clean & comfortable. It suited our needs perfectly. The pool area was very relaxing & spotless. The bar served delicious lunches & a good selection of drinks. All in all I highly recommend this B&B.

The room (10) could have done with more sockets, however I do understand in a building of this character & age this may not be possible. A chest of drawers would have made our room even better.

We booked one of the attic rooms, all beautifully decorated in keeping with the historic nature of the building. Our room had a beautiful roll top bath. The swimming pool was lovely with plenty of seating around the pool and also in different areas of the property. There was a bar service during the afternoon. Breakfast was very good. I would like to compliment the whole management team who were excellent, providing maps and information about parking, places to visit and restaurants in Lucca. I would mention Osteria Baralla, an excellent restaurant. It is quite a way to walk in, about 2km to the centre of Lucca but parking is relatively easy on the outskirts.

The shower could do with an update but it works perfectly fine.

Most beautifully built building, replicating and built using all the old building skills of 17th century Italy.

We were slightly disappointed that the pool wasn’t open Sunday afternoon, but it was 2nd week in October and far to cold for the Italians but not us British!!! My husband wanted to go for swim after a wonderful bike ride around the town Lucca.

The pool and grounds were lovely. The bar by the pool was an enjoyable addition. The family room was comfortable and the air conditioning was a nice relief from the heat outside. Breakfast had a good range of fresh choices. Out of hours entry to the Villa was easy and clearly directed by messages from the staff. The walk into town was approximately 25 minutes; quite an easy, flat walk.

There seemed to be a shortage of towels for the pool; we had to ask for fresh towels each day, and one staff member was abrupt with us the third time we asked, when he told us we should hang onto them each day. This would have been reasonable if there had been a way of drying the towels in the room, but there was not. Also, breakfast felt rushed each day. The villa was quite full and the breakfast room had a limited number of tables. Every morning our family of 5 had to fit around a square table set for 4, and as soon as we had finished eating, we felt that we should make room for the next round of guests entering the breakfast room. It would have been nice to sit for 10 minutes and enjoy a coffee.

fantastic staff who didn’t stop all day, beautiful room, great AC, pool area was lovely and clean. Good breakfast. Great location to walk into Lucca.

the only downside was the size of the shower, it was too small for us to lose the door and wash so we had to have the door open and we are both slim.

The location was perfect for exploring Lucca we were a 10 minute walk from the city walls. The staff was amazing and the pool was a welcome break from the mid day heat. The provided breakfast was a great mix of pastries, breads, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, cucumber, cheese, yogurt, cereal, granola, and fruit. The espresso machine made a wonderful coffee in the morning and totally prepared me for a long day of walking around the city.

We booked a room on the top floor so we had a lot of stairs to climb. This was our choice and next time I would book a lower floor room. This was no fault of of the hotel just the room I chose to book.

We were warmly welcomed by the hosts and it felt like such a unique, medieval castle themed stay, very secure, safe and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and nice to lounge by the pool. The staff were so helpful, kind and hard working. The location was about 20 minutes walk to the city walls, but we did not mind. We actually found a Vespa rental around the corner that was amazing and convenient. We’d definitely come back!
