We were delighted with this lovely boutique hotel in Monterosso del Mare. The photos do not do it justice. It is hard to find accommodations in Cinque Terre that don't require many flights of stairs and with certain comforts. The place was beautiful, clean, comfortable beds, A/C, excellent shower (obviously - small bathroom/shower as throughout most of Italy). The breakfast was outstanding. There are beautiful outdoor patio spaces in front and to the side which were underutilized - wonderful place to sit and have a drink, with sunbathing chairs and firepits. The hotel has a small bar. They provide towels for the beach, upon request. The staff (owners?) are delightful people who are very friendly and accommodating. The location was quiet and we found several outstanding restaurants nearby (suggested by the hotel). It is very near the beach (several open beaches and several paid/cabana type). There is a lift, so you don't have to cart luggage up and down stairs. The location may be a problem for some, but was fine for us. It is at the far end of the frontage of Monterosso's "new" town beach area. Any hotels of any size have to be located here, and they are the only ones of this type that you'll find in the five villages. So, there is a little walk from the train, and a longer walk to the ferry. HOWEVER, The walk. is almost entirely FLAT and this is important in Cinque Terre. We had no problem rolling our luggage to the hotel. (but you'll have to carry up and down from the train track!) (I think you actually can order some kind of taxi, but we didn't bother).

We had an issue with the A/C being too cold and the ceiling fan wasn't working (which would have been our preferred alternative). These could not be fixed during our stay and so they provided an extra blanket. I'm sure this was just an issue with our room and not a widespread problem here.

Location was brilliant. Lady owner is an absolutely beautiful lady, very kind. Balcony area was beautiful in the morning with a coffee. Birds and family cat entertained the toddler. Fabulous bar and area to relax after a long day

No restaurant in the hotel. Only breakfast. Could do brilliantly. I needed food for a toddler and nowhere would cook a takeaway portion of food. So hotel food would be brilliant. Didn't like the smell of smoking in the halls, obviously people were smoking in their rooms. That's a personal pet hate. Language barrier between owners and myself..I have no Italian.

Loved the location near the train station as we had a lot of baggage with my daughter finishing three months of study abroad in Florence. The flat ground made it easy to get to the hotel. Our room was very clean, staff friendly and fun, food was fine with plenty of options. I loved the rattan furniture, the birds, the fountain, the flowers, and it has an elevator. It was crowded in Cinque Terre, and because this is in the newer part of Monterossa, it's not on every tourist's "must see" list, so we got a reprieve from massive amounts of visitors. You have to get up early and do things, or do them in the evening when the train and boating-in folks are gone. I loved the beach right by us. When it was time to leave for Milan, we were able to get a direct Intercity train to Milan, so there was no changing trains with all the baggage. I would definitely stay here again even without the baggage. I'm usually a carry-on only traveler. I loved the hotel and Cinque Terre.

Really, just wish there weren't as many tourists. One day, we were in Vernazza and it was packed so we went back the next morning at 9 and had it all to ourselves. As to the hotel, there wasn't anything we didn't like.

The hotel is a cosy, homey family hotel, perfectly located on a quiet street just off the beach promenade. The rooms and bathrooms may be smaller compared to chain hotels or hotels in other popular areas but the hotel is pristine and well maintained. What made our stay unforgettable was the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff who were there to greet us (and see us off) like we were family. If I find myself in the region again I would repeat.

Breakfast was wonderful, with variety of breads, pastries, cheeses, salmon, etc.. I appreciated very much that the pot of coffee at my table was replaced promptly, upon request. Lovely gentleman who checked me in, is an asset to your establishment.

I killed a couple of large sized mosquitoes while in my bed and both were oozing with my blood. It was pretty obvious and I even made sure that housekeeping saw it. The stained sheets were not changed/replaced.

The location was close to the new town, beaches, & trains. Breakfast was 7-10. We could easily swim and walk back. Staff worked hard, especially 2 women that cleaned 50 tables.

Tv signal wasn’t steady. They said it was due to rain. Moved fruit, wasn’t fresh but the hey did supply whole oranges. Breakfast was good otherwise. To have a better restaurant selection you needed to walk to the old town.

Franscesco, Joanna & Ricardo were all MAGNIFICENT! We were sad to leave! The room was spacious with a view of the mountains and the sea. Plus, the bed was comfortable. The air conditioner worked well and we were down the street from a beautiful beach, The breakfast was varied and delicious. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel without exception. <3

That we had to leave~

We loved everything especially Domenico - the ever present concierge and Mario the cat. The breakfast was delicious and abundant - from typical Italian breakfast foods to continental foods. Easily accessed from the train station. Lots of amazing places to eat and of course, the Gelato was great. The beds were very comfortable and two pillows were provided for each bed. There was a bidet in the bathroom. The linens and the towels were of very high quality. We had a lovely balcony with table and chairs. There is an elevator. There are several indoor and outdoor sitting areas. We were hiking Cinque Terre and it was easy to find the beginning of the trail.

It was very humid during our stay and unfortunately it was mosquito season so couldn’t keep the windows open.

The location is good being away a bit from the down town area but close enough to walk. It was quiet. The room was nice, clean and a decent size bathroom. The court yard and grounds are nice and comfortable for just hanging out. Having parking near by was a big plus.

Breakfast was "ok". Wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. Could use some scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage.

Clean, comfort rooms with a relaxed environment to enjoy the beautiful sea. Breakfast was good. Friendly and helpful staff. It's just few meters from the beach. Easy to reach and train station is also in a walkable distance. Liked the beautiful view of the sea, nice restaurants.

AC is pretty old and was making more noice when turn on. For the price of the room it's a must to replace the AC with the new systems.
