I am from the US and speak a fair amount of Italian. The desk staff was as friendly and helpful as I could have asked for. They spoke with me in Italian, gave me great restaurant suggestions, helped me with maps, helped me figure out how to work the air conditioner in my room (it helps when you start with the power button, ahaha!), called for taxis, helped me when I inadvertently left a bag in the lobby, etc. They were, in short, amazing. I loved the generous breakfasts each morning with great caffè as well as drinks at the bar in the evening. I had read about their mission to employ people with special needs and I thought it was wonderful. Each person that I interacted with was kind and friendly, my room was spotless every day, and I felt they provided a great level of service and added to my experience. My room had a stocked refrigerator and a very comfortable bed. Just a few blocks north of the Piazza del Popolo, I had no problem navigating to the center of Rome. All of the landmarks and "must-sees" were certainly within MY walking distance. As I looked at different lodging options, I felt that the prices were very reasonable.

I had no complaints or unmet needs. People who have a limited ability to walk should probably look closer into the center of Rome, but for normal, mobile people, it was close and very fairly priced.

We love the mission to train and employ young people with disabilities (the entire staff was amazing!), as well as their environmental initiatives. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, with bus and metro stops nearby so we found it quite easy to get anywhere we wanted to go in Rome. Our room was lovely with plenty of space, and we enjoyed the peaceful garden almost every night to unwind after busy days in the city's crowded tourist areas. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and had new items prepared by staff each day. We had dinner in their restaurant the first night and everything was delicious. Wonderful experience for our first trip to Rome, and we highly recommend Albergo Etico!

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location near Piazza del Popolo, making it convenient to explore all the piazzas, Borghese Park, and the entire historic center on foot. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. The hotel's design was very beautiful, with vibrant colors in the rooms, and it had a great lounge where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner. The perfect and daily cleanliness was impressive. We stayed as a family for four nights and highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, cleanliness, exceptional service, and lovely design.

In the description provided by the hotel (AER) i.e. the room size of 14 m2 is a bit misleading because the room is really spacious. So I guess 14 m2 is just the room space without the bathroom & the little hall. So what you get is a big, comfortable, modern room with a very comfy bed, electric kettle for tea or coffee and a small fridge. The room is also cleaned & the bed made every day. AER is not very central but it’s near Borghese Park and Piazza del Popolo, and once you are here, The Spanish Steps, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Navona and The Pantheon are much nearer on foot. The hotel is also well connected by public transport to other famous historic sites in Rome, with bus stops on two nearby corners. Direct Bus 590 from Azuni Bus Stop (1 min walk from AER) takes you to The Vatican (Vatican Museums), Bus 628 from Gianturco Bus Stop (2 min walk from AER) takes you to Piazza Venezia (The Pantheon, an earlier stop) and Bus 87 from Bus Stop P.za Cinque Giornate (across the bridge, a 6 min walk from AER) takes you to The Coloseum. The staff professional, helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet, delicious, with lots of options. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Very nice hotel in the city centre. Very easy and straightforward check in and check out. The room was quite spacious with everything travellers may need. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of food including traditional Italian cornetti etc. and coffee. Very attentive and friendly personnel.

All was good. The only issue during our stay was that the restaurant in the hotel was closed in the evening and after a long day we had to go out again for dinner. Luckily there were lots of good places nearby..

Well appointed, spotlessly clean and with friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. In a quiet and safe area. Good access to public transport including Metro and 30 minute walk to Vatican and Villa Borghese. Close to Parc Borghese. Good quality, moderately priced (for Rome) in-house restaurant/bar. Other eateries and a supermarket within a few blocks. Near the river. Has a program to provide employment opportunities to the disabled.

Little to dislike but potential guests who are unfamiliar with Rome need to know the hotel is some way from hotspots like Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Forum etc. They may need to use Rome’s sometimes confusing and often unreliable bus and tram system to access these areas. Planning and time required. Also, although it’s a quiet area at night, several busy bus routes pass the hotel. There can be noticeable traffic noise for at least some rooms late into the night.

Reviews are subjective - so you need to understand the reviewers preferences. This is us: we prioritize a clean and quiet room where you sleep well, modern style and a good breakfast that sets you off for a full day of exploring. As we walk a lot, location does not have to be right in the center of activity - but should be decent walking distance. We do not prioritize a hotel restaurant (even if it's nice) or bar and common areas. Albergo Etico had all we needed: very nice, very clean, recently refurbished, adequately sized (though not large), very modern style rooms with excellent blinds that shut the light out completely. Really good bathroom (shower, no bathtub). Quiet location, quiet room. Breakfast had the for us most important things: Natural, unsweetened yoghhurt (fruit options as well), fruit, scrambled eggs and frittata, fruit juices, excellent coffe (order at the bar, included), cold cuts, cheese and bread. There were also some Italian sweet options (cakes) - though that's not for us :). Location wise it's a couple of minutes walk to Piazza del popolo and the subway (3-400m perhaps). All the major sites are within walking distance if you like to walk (Vatican, Spanish steps, Fontana di Trevi, Forum, Colloseum, restaurants and night life etc.) Tram going to the Olympic arenas (Foro Italico) is also just a couple of minutes away by foot. Yet - it's not in the middle of the buzz so nice and quiet! The staff in the reception were tremendously nice and helpful - could not wish for more! Helped us book tickets to sights, printed information for us about historical sites etc. They also manned the bar in the evening, which could serve the basic drinks you need and some snacks. No restaurant though - but this is Rome and the whole city is built up of restaurants and historic places... As an added bonus there's a Michelin star restaurant in the building next door - but needs to be booked well before you get there.

Nothing, really! A few things could have been better from OUR perspective - but nothing major and again, it's personal preference. We like beds on the softer side. The bed here was firm, but not hard. To us we would have preferred a bit softer, but it was still OK - I think probably a good balance meeting most preferences. The breakfast was as mentioned good - but could perhaps have included a few more options (bacon, youghurt toppings etc.) - but again, nothing major.

Honestly, we were a bit sceptic because the hotel was considered a 3-star hotel. However, the great breakfasts, awesome room with a very clean toilet and a very friendly staff, it was just too hard not to mention this hotel.

Wonderfully pleasant stay for 3 nights. Entire staff was very helpful and friendly. Someone at the front desk 24 hours; very helpful and knowledgable. Located in a nice residential section of Rome, but still close to Metro. Delicious fresh breakfast with lots of options to choose from. Shower was good, room clean and serviced daily. Nice outside area to sit in, elevator access from outside. Would highly recommend. Yummy restaurant named Sud near by, w/friendly owner.

Nothing! Would definitely return.

Lovely hotel, new and very nicely designed. Pleasant outdoor courtyard with seating (but we didn’t benefit as it was quite cold). Located in a residential area, but we could easily access by walk or bus/tram all central areas of Rome. Good breakfast and comfortable restaurant area. Very nice staff.

Unfortunately the sound isolation is poor, so we could hear the street. Better to ask for a room on the courtyard side.
