Reviews are subjective - so you need to understand the reviewers preferences. This is us: we prioritize a clean and quiet room where you sleep well, modern style and a good breakfast that sets you off for a full day of exploring. As we walk a lot, location does not have to be right in the center of activity - but should be decent walking distance. We do not prioritize a hotel restaurant (even if it's nice) or bar and common areas. Albergo Etico had all we needed: very nice, very clean, recently refurbished, adequately sized (though not large), very modern style rooms with excellent blinds that shut the light out completely. Really good bathroom (shower, no bathtub). Quiet location, quiet room. Breakfast had the for us most important things: Natural, unsweetened yoghhurt (fruit options as well), fruit, scrambled eggs and frittata, fruit juices, excellent coffe (order at the bar, included), cold cuts, cheese and bread. There were also some Italian sweet options (cakes) - though that's not for us :). Location wise it's a couple of minutes walk to Piazza del popolo and the subway (3-400m perhaps). All the major sites are within walking distance if you like to walk (Vatican, Spanish steps, Fontana di Trevi, Forum, Colloseum, restaurants and night life etc.) Tram going to the Olympic arenas (Foro Italico) is also just a couple of minutes away by foot. Yet - it's not in the middle of the buzz so nice and quiet! The staff in the reception were tremendously nice and helpful - could not wish for more! Helped us book tickets to sights, printed information for us about historical sites etc. They also manned the bar in the evening, which could serve the basic drinks you need and some snacks. No restaurant though - but this is Rome and the whole city is built up of restaurants and historic places... As an added bonus there's a Michelin star restaurant in the building next door - but needs to be booked well before you get there.

Nothing, really! A few things could have been better from OUR perspective - but nothing major and again, it's personal preference. We like beds on the softer side. The bed here was firm, but not hard. To us we would have preferred a bit softer, but it was still OK - I think probably a good balance meeting most preferences. The breakfast was as mentioned good - but could perhaps have included a few more options (bacon, youghurt toppings etc.) - but again, nothing major.

Honestly, we were a bit sceptic because the hotel was considered a 3-star hotel. However, the great breakfasts, awesome room with a very clean toilet and a very friendly staff, it was just too hard not to mention this hotel.

The hotel was quiet and calm, the room was spacious and clean, very good location of the hotel. The hotel also felt spacious. The staff was super helpful and kind and polite. The area of the hotel is also quiet and calm, and the hotel is only 10 mins from the main square in Rome. Also thank you for the airport transfer, it was very pleasant. Would recommend for anyone and would come here again 100 %.

Breakfast was okay - would love more gluten and diary free options for the breakfast, but in general it was good. But please change the Americano coffee at breakfast buffet to some better quality coffee - it is impossible to drink it, and there were no coconut milk for diary free option, and if I wanted a normal coffee I had to ask a lady do me one - which is very normal in every hotel, but she looked so busy I didn't wanted to bother her.

This hotel is a very special place to stay. it is located 2 minutes from Piazza del Popolo giving you great connections to the tram, taxi station, buses, metro or walking routes. The staff are ALL fantastic and wonderful that they give opportunities to those with special needs. The breakfast was excellent (thank you Simone and Cosmo) and catered for all - including vegetarian and gluten-free. All staff spoke English which came in very helpful with my poor Italian. But they literally did everything possible to make our stay in Rome perfect - from lending us an iron, to a travel plug, to booking our airport transfer and making me a almond milk latte every morning! I cannot fault this hotel and I’d definitely return again. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Albergó Etico! We loved our stay with you in beautiful Roma.

Sometimes the hotel had a private event on and you could hear music till 11/12 at night. But it really is the one smallest thing I will write about just to be honest with my review for others to know about. if you are as tired as we were from our sightseeing in Rome, it really wasn’t a big problem!

I liked the location both outside and inside, the room was cleaned daily and spacious. The staff was really nice also.

The TV was not working, however we didn't really need it. The sounds from restaurant and terrace at night are really loud and disrupt your sleep, if you want to go to sleep early it's impossible. Then in the morning other sounds from the vacuum cleaner and so on, because you can hear everything outside the door. At least our room was facing the inner courtyard, as I understood that rooms facing the street are loud all the time. Also the pillows are much too thin.

Everything was perfect. Exceptional cleanliness, good food, but the best of all were people. Jacop, Ilaria and Francesca at the reception did everything they could to help us when we lost our luggage at the airport. Numerous phone calls made by Jacop, warm advice wards said by the ladies. The kitchen and the restaurant people, whose names I unfortunately don't know, helped me to order gluten-free dishes. Thank you. Thanks everyone. I recommend this hotel. I recommend it strongly.

Everything was very good.

Don't waste your time looking for other places is Rome, book this place NOW! This hotel is just fabulous!!! Super clean, modern, stylish hotel in a very convenient location. Shower and bed are perfect. Close to the piazza del popolo underground station. Trams and buses are just round the corner. Breakfast is gorgeous with prime selection food. Friendly staff. Finally, the project behind this property will give the price you pay a totally different perspective. The hotel employs disabled people with the aim of promoting work and social inclusion for the vulnerable.

To be honest? Nothing! We really loved everything of this place. Do we really have to think about something we didn't like? Ok, the hotel is relatively small which makes it even more charming so you might find it fully booked at times :-D

We loved the ethos of the hotel. The continental breakfast was good with plenty of cold choices and/or scrambled eggs. Also a gluten free section The staff were really friendly and the rooms cleaned with fresh towels daily. The food in the restaurant in the evening was excellent and the hotel had a really lovely outside eating area with individual table lamps

The hotel was situation on the outskirts of most of the sights but a 30 min walk brought you to the centre.

An amazing experience from start to finish! The level of service staff provided is second to none and make you feel like the best VIP. Our breakfast was incredible as well. The room was clean and in excellent condition. It was very quite as well. We spent seven nights there. All in all a fantastic stay every time I’m in Rome and would highly recommend this property to everyone! Please know you will never be disappointed!

They don’t have a lot of food locations near by for lunch/ dinner.

+ Location - walking distance to all main attractions + Room - super clean! very comfortable bed, really modern and colorful + Breakfast - great choice - also GF bread and biscuits - between eggs, cheese, ham and cornetti and fruits + Amazing friendly staff

Just tiny remarks which didn't really impact our stay - The soap dispensers in the showers were a bit too high (at least in our room) - The pillows could be a little thicker (but also the ones we had were good, and there was an extra one in the closet)
