The bed was very large and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, also in the halls, stair cases and the restaurant. Breakfasts is very good. The choice is not large, but you can find something sour and something sweet, fruits for vegans, scrumbled eggs and boiled eggs for gluten-frees, and some soussages and bacon for meat eaters. The staff makes a coffee for you for request. Good location - close to the Termini station; many bars, restaurants and ice-cream cafes in the vicinity. Close to the bus stop, where a bus takes you down to the very center in 10 min. Close to Porta Pia and Castra Praetoria walls. 7 minutes walk to the metro station. The building has a history that is somehow connected to the Australian Catholic Church. You can find a lot of photographs and explanations on walls about past events and visitors. In the yard there is a glass-covered small exhibition of a preserved antique floor.

This certainly is not a 4-star hotel. The room was tight, there is no desk and no armchairs in a room, no place to put your laptop or a cup of coffee. The fridge does not cool. In the bathroom there are some not-secured electric cables on the top of the over-sink cabinet. The plug in the cabinet does not work. The extension cord for the iron does not fit to the iron's plug. Wifi very very weak. The bar at a roof terrace - the greatest attraction - was closed.

This is a very magnificent place to stay. I am glad to have decided to book for a night's stay here. First of all, thank you to Fabio and his amazing team at the reception who have generously given me information about the places I could visit in Rome. Secondly, I am in awe with the room I got for the relatively cheaper price I paid for. I will make sure to book this place again whenever I visit Rome for my next visits. I also liked that the place is very near the Rome Central Train Station. Yet far from the touristy locations in Europe and this has allowed to have a good relaxation and rest at night. Thirdly, as the place is the residence of the Archbishop of Australia in Rome, I also liked that it is connected to a big Catholic Church for my Sunday worship.

Here is something I wish I could some improvements. At the breakfast room, the person stationed in the buffet area became the all-around person to do the following: a) recording the guests room number; b) bringing them to the tables; c) scoop the food and the buffet items to observe COVID-19 restrictions of not allowing guests touch the ladles and come close to buffet area; d) prepare coffee. These tasks are too much for one person to handle. I hope this can still be improved.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The courtyard is beautiful and relaxing. Our room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delicious. All staff was helpful and accommodating. The overall experience was wonderful. It's close to the Termini train station which is convenient but there are also some unsavory people who hang out there. You also can walk to many of the sites and see Rome at your pace.

There really isn't anything bad about the hotel. As stated above, it is near the train station, so while it is convenient , you do have some issues with that. Otherwise, the hotel is clean and friendly and amazing.

The hotel was clean, modern, really pretty design with lovely courtyard and patio area. They have two elevators which was nice. Our room was nice and large with two windows looking out and lots of toiletries provided. Hotel was very quiet and Staff were friendly as well! Location is close to bus stops and Termini station.

The only thing I would say is that the A/C did not seem to be working that well, we were pretty warm throughout the night and the beds were a touch firm but that could be preference.

Our room was very clean and the whole place is very peaceful. Our windows had both internal wooden shutters and electric external metal shutters. Easy to get to the breakfast/dining room by lift, with a lovely variety of hot and cold food. The staff even provided a pot of boiling water for my husband’s tea. Reception staff were exceptionally nice and friendly. We arrived 2 hours early but we’re allowed early entry to our room. The only disadvantage was the connecting door meant we could hear everything from the next door. worth checking whether you are booking a connecting room.

The staff with whom I interacted were always helpful, and some were warmly friendly. All of those to whom I spoke were fluent in English. I had made a booking through the Domus Australia website before booking two further nights in a different category of room through booking.com much later. Moving rooms would have been a nuisance and I was delighted to find when I arrived that they had arranged for me to spend the entire 6 nights in the same spacious and very comfortable room. The shower was magnificent! The air conditioning was highly effective in what, by New Zealand standards, was a heat wave. The location was very central for the places I wanted to visit in Rome. Having the restaurant available for dinner as well as breakfast (other than on Sunday evening) was very helpful, although there are also plenty of nearby restaurants for those who want to try them, and staff will advise on these. There are two small shops that sell cold drinks, nibbles etc within a couple of minutes' walk. For English-speaking visitors who want to go to Mass, there is a beautiful chapel on site, with several English masses every week, including one on Sunday morning. Beautiful aboriginal art is also located in the hotel.

The laundry is mentioned but said to have closed because of Covid. It would be very helpful, in this post-Covid environment, if it reopened. The private laundry service one can access is exorbitantly expensive, but having to spend time using a laundromat for the first time ever was not on my agenda, especially in extreme heat.

My wife and I had six nights at Domus Australia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Domus is well positioned within an easy 5 min walk of Termini, and was superbly convenient to coffee bars and some absolutely superb restaurants. More significantly, though, was the attentiveness of all the staff we met at the Domus. They were all committed to making our stay as pleasant as possible, and it was really appreciated! Our room at the Domus was spacious and squeeky clean, with a terrific view to the private courtyard below. It was well appointed with the usual amenities including an electric jug for tea/coffee making. The bed was large and very comfortable - lots of room in the bathroom as well. Overall - an excellent base for touring the sights of Rome, and we would certainly recommend and stay at Domus Australia when next in Rome.

Very good location, near Termini station and Metro lines. Room was very clean, nice bathroom and shower. Breakfast selection very good, set us up for travelling around during the day. Staff were cheerful and very helpful, 24/7 cover on reception. Lovely chapel onsite too.

Air con was a little dodgy, but it was very warm weather. And regrettably during our stay, the rooftop terrace wasn't available due to ongoing works - otherwise we might have stayed in at least one evening for a meal and drinks.

Spacious room, masssive double bed, great central location. Staff were also very friendly and the breakfast was simple, but had pretty good options incl fruit, pastries, bread, bacon, scrambled eggs etc. Air conditionig in the room also worked well(but noisy).

You can hear noise from other rooms and coridor very well + the air conditioning on the quietest level is quite noisy too - recommend using earplugs when staying in this hotel.

Location was good, close to the station and in walking distance of many of Rome's attractions (such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon). Staff were welcoming and helpful; the room spacious, clean and comfortable. Very happy that the property had a guest laundry. Breakfast included a variety of continental and cooked options which changed daily. You don't need to be religious to appreciate the uniqueness of staying in what was once a monastery, complete with a chapel and daily mass.

The rooms aren't well sound proofed and we were woken in the early hours of the morning by other guests returning from a night out, talking loudly and banging doors.
