The valley view from the room was superb. Staff on reception were very helpful. Good breakfast with again beautiful views. Charming building in a fantastic location at the heart of the town. Very close to restaurants, bars, ice cream shops etc

A kettle is not automatically provided or offered but can be requested at reception, although we had to acquire cups ourselves from the dining room. It would be good if this had been offered on arrival.

Location & view were absolutely fantastic. The room had recently been refurbished and had a balcony, chair & table to sit at outside. Weather was very warm so unfortunately I didn't use the outside balcony during my visit. The room was very comfortable but just a little small.

Some of the neighbours were a little noisy during my stay but overall not too bad. There were no instructions for the TV and I could only watch Italian TV with no English subtitles. I did try and fiddle with the settings but I couldn't work out how to do it.

Typical Tuscan hotel in the main square of town. Restaurant upstairs with fabulous views over the town/countryside. Open for breakfast & lunch. (not dinner) Restaurant also on the ground floor. Good breakfast selection. Staff very helpful

Not that easy to arrive without a car. We took a train to Poggibonsi, but no taxi's available. So took a bus to the city walls of San Gen. (no 130/133) then walked to the hotel up a steep cobbled hill. Hotel does not a have courtesy bus. There are also buses to Siena. However, on a Sunday morning, travel by bus/train is very difficult, so plan your stay to avoid using public transport on a Sunday morning.

Exceptional location with balcony overlooking the piazza. Had historical hotel feel. Breakfast staff were very accommodating with great views overlooking the valley. Dinner experiences were excellent. Very helpful emails prior to our visit to outline directions, how to drop off luggage and parking. It is an adventure to drive your car into a medieval walled city to drop off suitcases.

No coffee in room, so we had to wait until the breakfast room opened.

Beautiful well appointed room and bathroom with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We stayed in a room overlooking the square. I thought it might have been a bit noisy but the windows shut out any sounds so we had an uninterrupted sleep in the most comfortable beds! We had breakfast in the restaurant with views over the open countryside which we loved. The selection of home baked cakes were lovely.

Nothing! It was superb! Make sure you park in car park 2. It’s the closest to the hotel.

We liked everything we just wish that the room had kettle and cups for tea. We also wished that breakfast had more cheese and olive options. But these are not deal breakers. If we come back we would stay in the same room again.

Excellent location in the heart of historic San Gimignano. The twin bedded room was tastefully furnished, welcoming , spacious, spotless, with air con The bathroom was spotless and roomy with a good shower and crisp white towels.

The reception staff were polite and answered with a smile when asked a question, but they seemed reluctant to engage in conversation with guests despite having very good English- a little more chit chat would have been welcome.

The central location is brilliant. The view of the square from the balcony was amazing. The room was lovely and likewise the bathroom. We had breakfast on one morning in the restaurant, which was fantastic. Such a wonderful choice. I would stay in Hotel La Cisterna again in a heartbeat! Thank you! We also had a fantastic wine-tasting experience with Giorgia in the Fontanaleone shop to the left of the hotel on the square. A highlight of our stay in San Gimignano!

Loved the location of the hotel and especially loved the view of the countryside from our balcony. We had pizza at the hotel and it was great! Also, front desk helped us get a driver to take us to a winery. That was great.

The bed could have been a little softer. Felt a little hard. Could just use a mattress topper on it. Also, would have liked a turkish towel for the hands and face over the light cloth towel.

I had an amazing time in San Gimignano and the hotel is also part of that. Hotel La Cisterna is excellent, location is perfect, the room was very clean, bed super confortable and the view of the window of my room was spectacular. Breakfast was also great and the people there very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
