My Friend and I loved everything about this Hotel. The room was the large and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious everyday we were there for a week. The Staff was outstanding. I found out it is Family owned and several of the family worked there. We even met the owner and she was a lovely Lady and very easy to speak to and so helpful. She was most days sitting in the Lobby. We felt like we were in a warm environment and well taken care of and safe. My friend and I still are talking about this Hotel and how much we loved Sorrento. We want to go back and if we did we would stay at the Hotel La Badia. I just can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay !!!!! Caio for now, Kathy & Caren

I loved my 4 night stay at Hotel La Badia. For me the location was great. Having read the reviews and as a solo traveller I was a bit apprehensive about the walk down to Sorrento but it was super quick and easy, even managed it with my suitcase when leaving for the train station! Being around the pool was very relaxing. And there were so many different areas to be outside, I didnt get a chance to enjoy them all. The breakfast was excellent. The views of sunset were amazing. The staff were helpful and friendly and arranged a trip for me. There was a lovely gentleman Luigi who worked in the bar, seeing he was working always made me smile :) I would recommend this hotel to my friends (and tell them to order a Sorrento Sunrise cocktail from the bar 😋🍹)

Great views from our room over the Bay of Naples towards Sorrento and Vesuvius Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff Quiet and away from the noise of the town

No meals served in the evening so we walked down into Sorrento for them, which gave us a lots of choice. It was ok as it kept us fit and an acceptable trade off for the quietness and great views We could have taken the car down if we wanted but chose to walk.

Hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning views of the gulf of Naples. We chose a room with a view and woke up each morning to a view of the gulf and Mount Vesuvius. Staff were friendly. Hotel was clean throughout. Breakfast was good with excellent coffee and a good selection (including cake!). Stunning views of the sunset from the terrace. Excellent pool with plenty of sun loungers and parasols. The jasmine around the shower in the pool was a nice touch.

The trek from the main road via the ‘shortcut’ is tough, especially in the heat as it is mainly uphill. My only suggestion would be a a shuttle bus, even if only back up from Sorrento town a few times in the evenings, as the hill wasn’t pleasant after a meal! Taxis are extortionate and we didn’t have much luck with the buses.

All the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Due to the elevated position of the hotel, the views of the sea, Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius were stunning. Definitely recommend getting a room with a sea view! The hotel itself is very traditional with many original features and has a homely feel to it, which adds to its charm. We had a room off the main flowered courtyard which was completely lovely, and for an added bonus there was a wee gecko on the wall at night. Do not expect a modern, slick hotel as you may be disappointed! In the evenings the surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful as you are well away from the busy town centre. The swimming pool is perfect with plenty of sun loungers. There were also some very thoughtful additions, jasmine flowers around the outdoor shower by the pool smelt wonderful and there are hammocks under the olive trees in a lovely shady, breezy spot which were delightful in the heat of the mid-day sun. Wide selection of choice for breakfast, including cereal, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurts, cold meats and cheese, breads etc.... and cakes! There is also tea, fresh coffee, fruit juices etc available. We ate dinner at the hotel on one evening which was very nice. Traditional, home cooked food which was better than some of the restaurants in Sorrento. The dinner menu changes daily so the "mains" selection is limited but you can ask to see the menu in the morning and make your decision to eat there or not. The hotel is located above the centre of Sorrento, so it only takes 10 minutes to walk into town, which is all down hill and very easy. The walk back is uphill and quite steep, and takes about 20 minutes. We stayed for a week with a family of 5 and had an brilliant time. Thank you so much to the team at La Badia for providing such a beautiful hotel and friendly service.

Any criticism would be purely pedantic as the positives outweigh any negatives. However, the hotel may want to consider upgrading the shower cubicles (or getting rid of them entirely and having wet rooms). Also, a selection of herbal teas for breakfast would be nice.

Beautiful, well maintained property with a stunning view. Helpful and friendly staff who go out of their way to take care of you and make your stay happy. Simple rooms, but super clean and comfortable with everything you need. Great breakfast, great pool. The aircon worked amazingly during the 35C+ weather. I liked being located out of the busy town, but it was a nice short walk to get down there. Would stay again!

If you’re arriving via the train the easiest and fastest option to reach the hotel is on the bus. Just be careful when you get off at the stop as the road is a little dicey if rolling your suitcase to the driveway. Otherwise the hotel team provided a few good alternative options to reach the hotel.

The views amazing, little family owned hotel who couldn't do enough to make out stay perfect. The care taken to the surrounding areas of the hotel was beautiful, breakfast was plenty and tasty for continental. We would definitely think about a return visit. We had a window view from our room. However the hotel as a balcony on the first floor perfect for evening drinks. Excellent value for money.

This hotel is high up the hills, giving a 360 view vantage, the transport is plenty (bus/taxi) but the walk back up although easy, in the heat it can feel grueling maybe for people with good fitness and mobility only for the up hill.

Beautiful hotel and surroundings with some of the best views over Sorrento! Very warm and welcoming on arrival. Had a lovely room with a wonderful view, lovely and clean, great shower and comfy bed! Breakfast was great and the staff all around were super helpful. Happy to help with organising trips, booking taxis and gave some really great restaurant recommendations too! Really enjoyed the pool area, found it very relaxing. Short walk down into town and the walk back up not too bad either, actually quite nice to be a little bit out of town. Couldn’t fault anything about the hotel at all and would definitely come back :)

Nothing :)

The location and the views were stunning and it was far enough out of the town to feel calm and peaceful (but still walkable) The hotel grounds are stunning; beautiful pool, seating areas, hammocks etc. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the scenery and not feel on top of other guests. The staff really went above and beyond in helping organise excursions, give advice and we're generally just kind and helpful (something we didn't really find elsewhere on our trip to Italy.) They even made us a take away breakfast when we checked out for an early flight. Great hotel and fabulous staff. Thank you.

Nothing.

Comfortable and beautiful hotel in villa operated by descendants of prior owner. The pride in ownership is reflected in the hospitality. Lovely grounds, refreshing pool and great view of the terrace/restaurant. It is above the hustle and bustle of Sorrento but there is a short cut to get down to center. The walk back up requires agility and fitness but is probably not for anyone with mobility issues.

The breakfast could be vastly improved with an offering of scrambled eggs instead of or in addition to hard boiled. Dinner is a bit underwhelming but will suffice if you absolutely don't want to go back down the hill.
