This is an absolutely beautiful spot with holiday apartments / villas a short way up the hill from the beach and a short way down the hill from the town of Taormina. From here you have the breeze, a beautiful view over the sea, beaches islands and stunning landscape. The villas and pool are beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. It’s easy to get down to the beach and up to the town from here. I recommend getting a scooter (125cc bike) - the staff can help doing this - and exploring the town and castelmola in the evenings.

Location is perfectly between the town of Taormina and the beaches, mini markets. If you’re up for walking, it’s a great location. The stairs up are quite brutal however. The staff is great. This is a family owned hotel and it is so charming to know that everything has been curated by a family that cares.

Breakfast price is a little steep for what you receive. Because of the amount of walking, it would be great if the property offered sandwiches, pizzas, fruit, etc. throughout the day, would be very helpful for those lazy days. Pool accommodations. For most people, if you did not bring your own towel, these needed to be rented. It would be great if this was included in the stay.

Absolutely stunning view of Isola Bella. We had complimentary upgrade to an ocean view room and it was genuinely stunning.

Nothing. Bedding comfortable. Location superb. The steps are mentioned in multiple reviews but honestly, that’s just Italy. If you’re able bodied, absolutely recommend this hotel.

There are around 300 steps down to the beach. You really need a car unless you're fairly fit

This is more about managing expectations than dislike. The property is a residenza and that means doing some of your own cleaning up like emptying bins and tidying the kitchen upon departure. You will not find water, coffee or tea sachets etc in the rooms. You can however buy water and drinks and have coffee made at reception for a fee. If you want to self- cater there is a good Deco supermarket near the Porta Catania. I can confirm there are lots of stairs to the beach and lots to the old town. Again, not a deal breaker - just be aware.

Clean, comfortable property with a fantastic pool, amazing views and lovely garden with lots of interesting cacti. Very accommodating when we had to check in later than anticipated after reception was closed

Breakfast - lovely views from the terrace but the selection was underwhelming so we only had it the first day. Rooms a little basic (the only sharp knife was a bread knife) but comfortable enough for us. Some of the information needs updating eg we thought reception was closed at lunchtime as that’s what the notice said but it wasn’t (we stayed in June). Also we hadn’t realised the cleaner would come in halfway through our week-long stay. While this was very welcome it would have been good to know in advance so we could have tidied up first!

Perfect room, amazing view. Very good location fews minutes to the beach and the funicular, also close to the town by the stairs. The pool with view is very nice too with sunbeds and umbrellas. I loved the vegetation.

The receptionist asked a random extra price of 50€ at the check-in because we were two in the room (big suite already at 190€/night) then he changed his mind when he saw us confused and asked for 30€, anyway we felt completely scam because we didn’t had truly explanations or proof of the rates. That guy was so rude. It would have been great if the valet who bring us to the room would have ask to help holding the luggages. So the first impression was bad that’s sad because the hotel it self really deserves a 10 ! The breakfast is bit overprice for what it is.

Breakfast (an optional extra) was very average. Orange juice not freshly squeezed and there was an extra charge for coffee from the machine ie, cappuccino, espresso etc. Came across as being cheap and money-grabbing. It is located between the town above and sea below and climbing up and down steps all the time was a bit of a drag. Town centre is a good 15 mins walk uphill. The staff were efficient but lacked the personal touch. When we checked out there were no friendly goodbyes or how did you enjoy your stay.

The view and the pool facility was incredible. The walk to the beach was not too long (keep in mind it was around 200 steps down to the beach and resturants, and then a 10 minute walk to the cable station that would take you to the town. The steps were annoying but the walk itself was very enjoyable). Could not say enough about the gorgeous view and the pool facility.

We didn’t feel that the service and costumer service we received reflected the value. The location was in the middle of the hill so immediate restaurant or food was not available. For the value, it would have made sense for them to have at least some sort of snacks offered in the area where they serve breakfast. Also, for the value, we feel that the breakfast would have made sense to be included. Pool towels were also an additional charge.

Residence Terra Rossa is in a lovely location to explore Taormina and we had a fantastic holiday there, with views from our villa out over the bay. The staff are super friendly and very helpful, whatever question we asked they were able to answer. The swimming pool area and terrace are much larger than they look in the pictures, and again you get stunning views out across the bay.

Absolutely nothing to do with the Villa, but it is positioned halfway between the beach and the town on a very steep hill (cliff?), the only way to either being via a large amount of steep steps. We are an active family and do a lot of walking so it wasn't a huge problem for us, but if you are unfit, unable to walk distances, or climb steep stairs then this isn't the location for you! But if that's not a problem, the stairs are more than worth it for both the day time and night time views that you get - absolutely stunning and we loved our stay.
