The location is very convenient if you travel by bus. Kumamoto castle is within walking distance and there are many local restaurants and bars nearby. The public bath facility is superb.

The room is less spacious than I expected, perhaps it is because the beds are too large in size squeezing out other spaces. The public bath is always busy accommodating hotel guests as well as daily customers. These make me feel the price is slightly less value for money.

Great location. Easy access from the tram stop and JR station. We even made an easy half day trip to Fukuoka from here. Polite & friendly staff. Great breakfast with Western and Japanese selections. Grilling food by yourselves is a nice touch. Nice public baths, only a few bathers. Free ice popsicles. Easy check out. You just drop your key in a box and leave.

Minor stuff, but the step to a small bath wobbles. Just be careful. Price was on the higher end, imo.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Great location as it was right in the heart of downtown Kumamoto so it was easy to walk around, take public transit and close to rental car locations. Would definitely stay again, thank you!

The rooms were a little smaller than expected (not too much space for packing up our suitcases), but that information about the room could have been easily missed by me prior to booking.

These room are extremely small, but the hotel has organized everything very efficiently, both in terms of supplies inside the room, and in terms of supplies outside the room (lounge, reception desk,etc). Location is outstanding. Front desk staff were extremely helpful with a number of issues (electrical plug adapter, calling for a complicated taxi requested, organizing retrieval of a forgotten item), and always with a smile. Really excellent customer service.

Very small tight rooms. Otherwise perfect.

Great location and value for money. Less than 5min walk from nearby underground car park, and entrance under covered arcade. Welcome drink and courtesy umbrellas a nice touch. Got the triple room with the option for two large single beds and one smaller single bed, much more comfy than the usual small double + single default option.

No on site parking but it is easy to arrange on your own.

I really loved REF in Kumamoto, rooms are small but you can fit luggage under the bad and make everything smooth and practical, facilities are top notch, the bath floor is great, laundry is great, breakfast is good but most important thing the staff is super helpful and some of them speak english. They helped me with my luggage before and after my stay so thanks guys 10/10!

Location was great and very central. We were there only for the night and there are many great restaurants and shopping outlets that is within walking distance. The breakfast was fantastic as it showcase the various local fare of the region.

The double bed was a bit tight and it was a bit squeezy in the room for 2 pax. There wasn't much space to move around and fortunately we had the smaller luggage. Also, the hotel doesn't have a lobby, so do note if you are driving there, you have to park 5 mins away at a multi-storey car park and lug your luggages across the main street.

Great location with tons of dining, shopping and entertainment options surrounding the hotel. Despite the central location, the room was very quiet. Cleanliness of the room itself was good and the layout made good use of the space. There's a paid laundromat available for guest use, and a free public hot spring. Discounted parking is available at a nearby lot and the hotel has written English instructions clearly explaining how to use it. Overall, excellent price-to-value.

The public areas (hallways, elevators) could use more frequent tidying.

Breakfast excellent, both Japanese and western dietary options. Staff, responsive and kind. Public onsen bath was perfect, plenty of space both evening and morning hours, bonus they have Dyson hair dryer's in women's locker room. Extremely convenient location in the shopping district, easily accessible by public transit. Will stay there again!
