Very spacious for 4 pax and very comfortable place - brightly lit, cozy bean bags, comfortable beds and Netflix available! It was the first hotel where 2 of us slept on futons, and there was a guide on how to set up our futons. If you have sensitive skin, it might be good to spray antibacterial spray first (not sure) Bathroom was split into 2: 1 part for toilet bowl + small sink, 1 part for larger sink with mirror, toothbrush and towels etc and bath tub + shower. Lobby was comfortable and aesthetic! You can take what you need eg bath towels/loofahs, razor etc from the front desk if you need them. Staff were very friendly and prompt in replying on both Booking.com and in person! They also provided us with recommendations for Kyoto ^_^ The location was very good as well - about 5-10mins walk to Kyoto Station, and also the bus ride from Gion area to the hotel was super fast. Quite easy to navigate to this place. They have 2 entrances btw! Was a comfy experience here. Will come back again.

The hotel is about five minutes walk from Kyoto Station, making it easy to get to and centrally located for exploring the city. The owner and staff are lovely and go out of their way to help. The hotel also has a nice rooftop garden and laundry facilities. The hotel doesn’t offer breakfast but there’s a cafe called Lower East about five minutes walk away and they do nice breakfasts and coffees.

The room was a little smaller than I thought it would be. When I looked at the pictures, I thought the screen door would slide shut, allowing us to split the room in two, but it’s just decorative. Still, a nice room!

The staff was really so lovely. Everyone who we interacted with was incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our stay as lovely as possible. I also loved the communal area next to the lobby of the hotel, which had a kitchen and all sorts of flatware/utensils to use for meals. The ambiance of the hotel was just perfect for our family, and we also really enjoyed hanging out on the roof! We also liked being walking distance from a mall with a food court and grocery store.

The location is a bit far from the locations we wanted to see in Kyoto, but that was not a problem as it was easy to access other parts of the city either by walking, hopping on the subway, or grabbing a cab.

Very aesthetically pleasing and convenient location close to kyoto station. There were lovely touches with references to Beatles in design. Beatles music piping the common lounge/kitchenette which feels cozy and homely. The staff were helpful while very respectful to giving space to guests. The bonus for us was staying on the ground floor which made the use of washing facilities so convenient.

Very small aspects like dust in deep corners. The sink is beautiful but water tend to splash out leaving stains on the wood edge at the corner. But these are unimportant compared to the overall stay.

Hotel Imagine was AMAZING!!! From the aesthetic appeal of the entrance and room, the feel of the hotel, it's cleanliness and modern feel even though it keeps it's traditional Japanese style as well. The staff were very friendly, helpful with directions/taxis/trains/recommendations. The room was very spacious, beautiful and clean, the beds SUPER comfortable, loved the blockout blinds for our young humans sleeping well, even a warming toilet seat! Loved the kimono pyjamas too, so beautiful to wear. Shared kitchen facility which was epic for us to cook food to our dietary requirements with everything you need. Location was great, just 6 minute walk to Kyoto station and another station to get you most places. Though we did find the trains a little confusing and used some taxi's/uber at times. It is away from the main area of Kyoto for shopping and markets, but it is a short train away for this and nice that it's not noisy.

I just wish we could have stayed longer!!

Room was spacious and had futons besides the 2 beds. Coin laundry was available and amenities were readily available at the reception. Staff were friendly, patient and helped us to arrange for luggage delivery.

Reception had limited opening hours but we managed to work out an arrangement to deposit our luggage for delivery before heading out. Hotel was about less than 10 minutes from Kyoto station which was still ok.

The staff and owner take pride in their hotel and personally took care to make sure we were good. The room is spacious for 4 people, with typical separation (in Japan) of WC and shower. We were even able to keep some suitcases open with all the beds set up, which is not always possible in the size of hotel rooms in Japan. There is a kitchen area/large lounge in the lobby for preparing small meals/tea. The location was excellent in terms of being close (8 min walk) to the train station and it was a clean and safe area, with good restaurants nearby. The room (corner) had a lot of big windows and a window seat. There is a rooftop patio to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Firstly, it has a tatami room for an unique experience. It also is very well located in a quieter part of kyoto, but still within walking distance to main train station. Access to food and transportation is a breeze.

Slight dent on on of the tatami mats, so was not well rested on the first night. Found the issue and moved slightly to avoid bad spot and it was fine.

The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful! The bed was huge, which was really nice cause my 10-month-old baby had to sleep with us. There was a gorgeous rooftop garden where we could take pictures. There was a communal pantry and family area that had toys and children’s books too! But most of all, the owner and the staff were all so lovely and helpful. They had awesome food recommendations and tried their best to make bookings for us (even though we were really last minute about it), and they were so friendly and warm towards us throughout our stay and helped us out in any way they could. ♥️

The style of the room was very Japanese. It felt authentic. The flooring was nice as were the shutters. It was clean and the staff were lovely. There were kimonos to borrow to sleep in. The kimonos were so lovely we bought some to take home. It was very close to the railway station. It was good value for money. Downstairs there was a little football table and also washing machines for clothes. There was a roof terrace which we managed to sit on and it was very peaceful.

There was no breakfast but then no real space or bowls etc to make our own breakfast. Even a couple of bowls and spoons so we could have breakfast would be great. Everything else was fine.
