The hotel was very modern and well designed. The bed was very comfortable. In-room amenities included a toothbrush, toothpaste, pajamas, towels, hairdryer, and bag for taking to the bath area. There was also an area in the lounge with some additional items you could take up to your room if needed including pillows and luggage racks. Really enjoyed the shared bath space but it was a bit on the small side. There are 5 shower stalls and 4 sit down types in the bath space. It was nearly empty when I bathed at 10pm on a Thursday. There is also a wall of different shampoo and conditions you can choose from which was a nice touch.

Room was a bit small as the bed took up 2/3rds of the space. Provided pajamas were a bit too small for me. Different sizes would be appreciated.

Location is good, close to main station. The public bath is clean, providing all necessary items. although it's a small bath but quite comfortable. The public lobby area is good, providing many magazines, free herbal teas, coffees and small oven. There is free laundry for use, it's so convenient for traveller, although there might be a queue. wifi is stable.

one of the morning staff can't understand english very well. She misunderstood and can't communicate very well. the bed is not really comfy. pillow and duvet, sheet covers are not very good quality. seems a bit old and used. pillow is too small and soft/flat. sound proof is not very good, i can hear noises from the aisle way.

Big and spacious room with a sink, towels and amenities provided, access to great tea/coffee in the common area, less than 10 mins walk to Kyoto Station! Also, the shared bath with the various shampoos and conditioners, as mentioned by many other guests.

Not very clean. My room was alright (way cleaner than the average APA hotel room at least!!) but there were clumps of long hair all over the carpets in the hallway (at least on the 3rd floor) which weren't cleaned during my 3 days there. The sink in the shared ladies' toilet was clogged by the first night of my stay and was completely full of dirty water by the time I left. And I KNOW several housekeepers saw it get fuller each day. Also the mattress was so thin and hard (but soft pillows) I woke up on the second day with a bruise on my lower back LOL.

We liked the place especially due to the short distance from the train station. Shops like 7/11 were very close to the hotel. Also - staff was really friendly. Room was rather small - but it was fine for us as we were used to it in Japan. Bed was really, really comfortable. There were 2 toilets for men and 2 toilets for women on the floor - next to the lift. It was ok. The bathroom with showers and small onse was on the ground floor. It was great! Spacious with many different cosmetics. Although there were many people in the hotel I did not feel that. It was possible to buy a day-transport card for Kyoto in the reception (very convenient). I think it was possible to drink free tea and coffee on the ground floor but we didn't try it. I would stay there again.

The location is great. I loved that it has several products available that you can use and borrow. The price/quality is excellent. The onsen is quite nice and the vibe was generally chill and inspiring. I love that you can make your blend of coffee and you can drink several teas. You also have a lot of products for showering that you can use.

I needed to work European hours and at 11 pm the staff told me to leave the main room. The rooms are nice to sleep in but not very comfortable(or designed) if you need to work long hours. I booked this hotel because I saw that there was a big area where I could work and would be great if you let people stay there.

Upon entering the hostel, we were surprised on how clean the lobby was. The check in process is a breeze since they use a machine for it. And the accomodating staff, who helped us regarding our luggage was a big help for me. Even though the toilet and the bath is for common use, it was very clean. And the options of shampoos and conditioner for the women bath was a lot!! I tried each one every time. They also have their own mini coffee bean grinder, which I totally enjoyed using.

The room we booked was a bit small, having 4 luggages was not easy, but maybe there are bigger options. The laundry was free, but the dryer was not drying properly anymore, maybe it was overused already. So every after laundry, we needed to walk to the next laundry shop for the dryer, but it wasn't far.

Amazing! One of the nicest stay we’ve had on our six months travels. A huge communal chill room with a lovely vibe that offers the opportunity to be social. Lovely public bath included. Free coffee and freebies to borrow - so refreshing in contrast to other money grabbing hotels. Amenities were on point. Lovely and clean too!

It’s a little far from the centre but there are frequent buses! 10 mins and you’re in the centre of town.

Really nice place to stay very close to the main station and 2 min away from a metro station, making it super easy to move in Kyoto and surrounding area. The rooms are small but super comfortable and clean. Towels, slippers and lounge wear are provided. The bathrooms are clean and the shower area is great, big and with plenty of products you can use.

Corridor’s carpet is old and stained. Very dirty, maybe asking to take off shoes inside the hotel would be better. This strike me as the rest of the hotel is super clean and has really good ambiance. Also keep in mind that after 11PM you cannot be in the common areas

Though the room was small and compact, we managed to get by, considering the value for money. We love the lounge, there was enough space for most guest to have their own meals and privacy. there's an impressive range of coffee and tea, really enjoyed the whole experience. there's plates, bowls and cutlery- its non-disposable ones, thumbs up for being sustainable. love that they provided a toaster, most usually provide a microwave ovens. lots of local magazines to browse thru. the bath and laundry were great too. oh! they even provided umbrellas when it rained for hotel guest usage without deposit.

the lounge closed at 11pm. it will be good if it can stay open till 1am for guest to get some hot drinks or who can't sleep to sit around. The room is too small.

Friendly atmosphere in the hostel. You can walk in the kimono and flip flops as other guests in the hostel and it is perfectly normal :D . Really clean place, great onsen. Possibility to make a hand brew coffee by yourself for free. We have great memories for this hostel. Close to the main station (we appreciated for ride to Nara)

Room was really small, but we really like the atmosphere in the hostel. Location is not so special. It is quite far to the main attraction in Kyoto, but bus stop is close and main train station as well
