First of all, I liked that it was really near the Kyoto station, just a short 5 mins walk away from the busy train station. It is also near many malls, there is Aeon mall, Avanti mall, don don donki. The room itself has 4 beds and they are very comfortable. Really nice for a family to live in with the sofa space and table for gathering for meals. You could also borrow the toaster in case you need to toast food from convenience store. Staff is friendly if you need to ask anything. Overall very good stay!

No floor heating, pretty cold if you don't wear socks or thick bedroom slippers.

Front staff are very polite and helpful, and fluent in English. As I just know limited Nihongo, so the use of English can help foreign guests a lot to enjoy their stay at Mimaru. The Pokemon theme room is really attractive to me as a Pokemon fans, in which fully decorated with lovely Pokemon. I love the Pokemon souvenirs prepared for me so much, which is not for sale and well designed. All the utensils for living are quite enough and you do not need to worry about it if you stay for a long period of time or you can bring nothing to stay in the hotel in case you do not have many special requests.

I cannot stay longer; No USB-C port (USB-A port only) but it is not a big problem as I have adaptor myself; The Pokemon room can be pushed to a fever if the kitchen, bathroom and washroom are also decorated with more Pokemon.

We are a family with a 6yo, 4yo and a 4mo baby. The hotel provided a free crib, a real one not a camping crib we usually get at hotels. The small apartment/room was very comfortable for a family. I had a microwave that fits Avent bottle sterilizator, a fridge, a freezer, a fully stocked kitchen. While we chose not to cook and mostly brought in goods from the convini (Lawson is better than 7/11 in my opinion, both are bear by) or take aqay from the station's McDonalds, Avanti's food court (right across the street) or Coco Curry. A large dining table, a spacious shower and bath and a laundry room (operated by coins) made traveling with kids a pleasant experience. We chose Kyoto station branch as we used it as base for Osaka and Nagoya too, and it made traveling around easier. For us it was a perfect location. The hotel also has a game lending library and we enjoyed several evenings playing with our kids.

Honestly, we had a good stay. The way the room was shaped was not optimal for a baby bed, but we managed.

Yuko san and Zun san were extremely friendly and hospitable receiving us at check in, especially helping around luggage forwarding, taxi rides. Yuko san especially went above and beyond to help advise on the nearest Yamato Transport office for me to pick up my luggage near my airbnb. At check out we left behind some important doc and Yuko san contacted me about it. Zun san went above and beyond to deliver it to our airbnb in Osaka after his work! This is really unexpected and I am so thankful for the amazing Mimaru Kyoto Station team. The apartment hotel itself had everything we needed, very practically designed and functional. If something can be done for the bunk bed (my daughters were saying she cannot feel the ac from the bunk beds - we stayed at 1102 so probably due to the configuration of the ac versus the bunk bed), it will be even better! Thank you for the amazing stay nevertheless! I do think it was value for money given the close proximity to Kyoto station!

We really enjoyed the spaciousness of the room that we selected. It was the largest of the 3 hotels we stayed at. We also appreciated the exceptional and excellent support of the staff from Assistant Manager Ahn, to night clerk Zun. The location is right across from Kyoto station and there is a 7-Eleven just around the corner if one needed a midnight snack. The room also had a well equipped kitchenette though with soo many wonderful restaurants just across the street we didn’t need it. Also loved the large dining room.

Our only complaint was that the laundry room and washers and dryers were quite small. So as a midpoint stop of the typical Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo trip often times it’s a wash day, however with 3 small washers and dryers it’s a bit of a tight fit and it takes quite some time to do one’s laundry. Despite this setback, this was the only complaint that we had.

This is an excellent location for families staying in Kyoto. This is the second hotel in the Mimaru hotel chain that we have stayed in and they have not disappointed us! This hotel is in a prime location right across the street from Kyoto station. It is also walking distance to so many food options and the super convenient 711. It is also a short cab ride to all of the cities tourist attractions. The rooms are big, clean, and stocked with all of the essentials.

We needed to do plenty of laundry on our trip and they could have used a few more washing and drying machines. Be prepared to wait... or go super early!

Location of the hotel. It did have the kitchenette but we didn't really use it. Saving the environment which didn't provide of the normal stuff but they did have any problem in giving it to you. If you forgot any. I was aware of this before the trip as well .

The pokemon theme room was cool but for the $$ we wish had more Pokemon stuff or treats rather than just the plates , then Snorlax big stuff toy on the bed and 2 pieces of reusable small bag and bag tag. Otherwise , I think my son would be ok not having the themed room. The beds were harder for my liking but other family members were ok with it. We did do laundry , but they only had a few washes and dryer and everybody doing 90 mins of drying which was a long wait to do your load.

All the Staff we encountered were lovely & very helpful. Hotel extremely close & convenient to Kyoto station & 7-11 for snacks & breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Stayed in the Pokémon room, which was a bit of a novelty for the kids & spacious

Just a bit further from the action than we thought. A 40min walk to the Nishiki markets & Gion district - which is totally doable, easy & enjoyable for adults but our kids complained after a big day. Lots of public transport options to overcome this of course, but visiting during peak tourist times - walking was often better than braving the crowds on the bus & trains

The location is super. A stone away from Kyoto station when I come from Tokyo via Shinkasen. We got the connecting room for 10 pax though we are 7 pax. Family enjoyed the stay thoroughly, separate toilets and bathrooms make the stay convenient for our group. Paid breakfast options are available from nearby hotels. You can pay at other hotels but please go early before 8am as crowds stream in. Rooms super clean! Plenty of hangers for us. Staff at counter is very helpful and speak good english.

Everything is perfect.

This was our second stay at a Mimaru during our Japan trip, and once again it did not disappoint. It’s conveniently located right across from Kyoto station. We stayed in an apartment style room, with bunk beds for the kids. It was really spacious, nice dining area and kitchen, big shower room and a separate toilet. There is a coin laundry which we used everyday, so handy. There are dryers available but we just hung everything in the room (there is plenty of hanging space) and it dried overnight. The staff are lovely and help with any request. Our room looked out over the road and onto the Shinkansen tracks, my husband loved watching them come and go. Noise not a problem when windows closed at night. There are heaps of restaurants and shops in Kyoto station, from convenience stores to designer brand shops. Can’t recommend Mimaru highly enough, they are a little more expensive than a standard room but definitely worth it especially if travelling with kids.
