I chose this hotel because of its location. It’s literally across the street from Kyoto station. If I needed a break from my daily activities, I could just walk across the train station and freshen up in my room. There’s a 7-11 a minute away which just makes everything so convenient. The size of the room was also pretty big for Kyoto standards. I could open my luggage with no issues and walk around the room. Would stay here again next time I’m in Kyoto.

The only thing I didn’t like was the staff forgot to give me fresh towels, but no big deal.

The Ibis Styles is a great value for money hotel located directly opposite the Kyoto train station. This provides quick easy access to subway, local, JR and Shinkansen Bullet trains, and local, JR and tourist buses. The hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really good for the price. The hotel is located close to attractions and duty-free shopping.

I have stayed at this hotel several times now. The location is very close to the Station. You can see it from the left side of the Bullet train as you arrive when heading to Kyoto from Tokyo. Beautifully appointed rooms, although compact you’re only there to sleep. The Breakfast is awesome and I always take the Buffet breakfast option. A convenient store just behind the property also and great eating options close by.

No faults at all.

This place is great. The location is amazing right across from the train station and there are rentable scooters and bikes right outside the hotel. The door was a little confusing at first, but not all that difficult to enter. There's tons of shopping and restaurants nearby and it was so nice to not have to go far after a long day of sightseeing. Plus being able to tell how busy the station is if we wanted to go out was a plus. Theres on-site laundry and a great vending machine in the hotel that was a lifesaver!

In our particular room, the a/c only worked one out of five days, but it was during the busiest time of the year so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. The windows open too, unlike a lot of hotels so it wasn't that much of a problem yet. There are only two elevators and they're pretty small, but we never had to wait more than a few minutes even during the busy part of the day - however, for those with extra large luggage, this could be more of an issue.

Location is absolutely wonderful. I can literally see the train platform from my window, great way to estimate the rush hour crowd before heading to the JR station. Quiet, no rustle tumble of loud guests in the corridor. Quick simple effect less check-in and check-out process with friendly staffs. Rooms are well equiped and spotless.

I stayed on the 6th floor and is able to open the window ajar for some winter air. But sadly there seems to be gust of restaurant odor floating into our room after 8pm daily as if we're just above a Izakaya barbeque restaurant. I can't seem to locate where the odor came from though, so we mostly kept the window shut.

Damn ; super location … just opposite Kyoto train station, next to the taxi stand , 7/11 stores a mall and an array of restaurants … cannot ask for more . I am a regular traveller specially to Europe this location is spot on for Kyoto and most tour pick up locations were near by. Despite some adverse comments I asked for a clean room and the room was spot on . Daily new towels and bath robes were received . They even accommodate luggage storage . I was thrilled when I saw the hotel name opposite the road after I got off from the bullet train from Tokyo . Super for first time visitors . I cannot comment on breakfast since I ate put at all instances

Nothing .

Bed was comfortable, there was a closet, front desk staff and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was great.

No comfortable chair to sit in, no place to eat in the room. No drawers to put clothes in. We stayed long term so these things would have been helpful. They also turn the air conditioner off, so even if it’s cool outside, our room would get hot. The only way to cool it was to open the window (no screen) and let the noise and bugs in. They blast the heat in the hallways which in turn warms the rooms too much. Japanese people seem to like the extra heat, but I am not Japanese! I should be able to have the option to make my room feel comfortable to ME.

Just across the street from Kyoto Station. The hotel's bright green signage is visible from within the station's second floor southern exit so finding it is easy. Catching rail transport is very convenient. Catching the bus is also fairly convenient but the busses all stop at Kyoto Station northern entrance so have to walk through the station grounds. Good wifi and decent sized room. 7-11 convenience store just around the corner. Could hear the 7-11 door chime from the room if we left the window open. Ample amenities like tea, soap, shampoo, razor etc at the lobby. Many restaurants and multi-storey stores inside Kyoto station. Overall a good base to hit Kyoto and outer Kyoto tourist spots.

Hotel coin washing machines are really old toploaders. They make alot noise in operation. Sounds like their motors need oil or new bearings. The dryers are just as ancient and do a poor job at drying clothing. There are only 2 top-loaders alongside 2 tumble dryers and they are regularly busy. Checking for them is just frustrating. Suggest the laundromat beside Family Mart that is a short walk around the corner from the hotel. They have modern washer / dryer combo that does a great job in shorter time. The machines also have the ability to call your mobile phone to alert when the.entire wash + dry cycle is 5 minutes to completion. The technology here just puts the.hotel's ancient machines to shame. While the hotel provides complimentary tea, it does not provide complementary coffee :(

location is good as it is just opposite of Kyoto Station especially for train to Nara. The bus stop for drop off point from Kansai Airport to Kyoto is just 3 min walk and pick up to Kansai Airport is infront of the building. There is a 7 elven shop behind the building and a 24 hour noodle shop 2 min away.

TV Channels only have BBC in English.

The location, right across the Kyoto Station from the west exit and there's also bus stop in front of it. The facilities was great and clean and close to combini and donki😊 The room is considered big especially compare to hotels in Tokyo.

Quite small but still manageable. Then again is still relatively big by japan average standard
