Location is very convenient. The cottage is nestled between the trees overlooking the ski slope. Staying here in spring and summer means you're surrounded by green. It's pretty and peaceful. The cottage is spacious and private. Separate toilet and traditional Japanese bath/shower. Only 10 minutes walk to the shopping plaza. Umbrellas are available. There's also a free bus service.

There was a wooden beam right in the middle of the dining space (despite the caution sign, we banged our heads many times). There was a sink to do dishes, but no sponge or washing soap. There was also no microwave.

Good vibes as soon as you walk in. Great public baths with steam sauna and outdoor bath. Convenient shuttle service to and form the JR and Bus station . spacious room with good amenities

AC didnt work as AC , it was heating since the weather is cooler in Karuizawa (15c) however since we prefer cooler air for sleep we didnt need heating so we had the system off. our room on the ground floor so we didn't feel comfortable opening the windows at night during our sleep. (Windows has no security, big wide open anyone can climb in) It was too hot to sleep. Set breakfast weren't that good but it's OK for us as it's including in our room

Seperate own cabin in the snow looking at the slop. 2 bedrooms so we can be seperate from the kids.

There was mould in the bathroom vents on the door. Dated decor that will need updated and window covers that don’t completely block out the weather. Western breakfast options not available and no where open for us with small children until 10. Reception needs to be better equipped with supplies to book in the cottage like bread, eggs etc. Better cooking facilities in the cottage with a microwave or stove would have been great as after skiing the kids wanted to relax and had to drag them Out for dinner far away and had to carry home asleep most nights

We like the prompt and friendly response of the staff every time we make any requests. The proximity to ski, outlet shopping and dining is a major plus point. I especially want to priase the integrity of the staff in 2 separate occasions. First, I was overcharged at ski rental (as a visitor instead of hotel guest) and the ski centre actually made a refund via the hotel reception on the same day! Second time is worth mentioning as I was careless to leave behind my laptop after checkout! We have left Karuizawa and arrived in Tokyo. I immediately called the reception and they located my laptop in lost-&-found within 5 min. And they promptly arranged a local courier to deliver my laptop to my Tokyo hotel which I received in 36 hours. They even made calls to my Tokyo hotel to ensure I have sufficient 円 to pay the local courier guy (which was merely 1,200円!). Thank you Karuizawa Prince Hotel! We will surely return in the near future!

The manmade snow is hard and slippery. Not ideal for beginners (whom I am) to learn skiing. We went in second half of Dec.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 toddlers, the location was very convenient with easy access to hotel restaurants, the onsen and of course the snowpark (our room looked right into the snow play area too). The staff were helpful arranging our taxi hires and we had good food at the hotel restaurants. It's not a luxury hotel, but the facilities are clean, conveniently located next to Princes Outlets (this came in handy when we had a day of rain and needed to find something to do). The onsen is very nice, I took my daughter there and we had a fun experience. Worth visiting when you're staying at the hotel.

The room sizes are comfortable, but I think it's a bit odd they would not provide a cot for babies above 12 months. We have a 1.5 yo and she still sleeps in a cot, but they said for safety reasons they weren't able to. This was a bit odd...

It’s a ski resort. The equipment rental and cable car ticket office are just steps away from the lobby. There are various ski schools available as well. It’s friendly for families with young children as you don’t need to walk too far to the school or ski rental. There’s also an outlet nearby so people who don’t ski can go shopping so it caters to everyone’s needs.

The housekeeping wasn’t great. At check-in they did ask me if I needed my sheets changed. As i was only staying for 2 nights so I said no, but I needed new towels everyday. They did change my towels, but it came as a surprise that they didn’t even make my bed.

Excellent service, room size and cleanliness, amenities (amazing coffee and amenities for children), options for breakfast within the hotel, shuttle bus services and the location being close to Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza (3 min walk from our hotel). The best part is that the hotel is divided into many buildings and surrounded by many trees over a very large space. So it is not crowded and we got to enjoy the natural scenery.

Nothing at all! Just a note that if you book the room option with breakfast and when the child gets to stay for free, the breakfast is in fact not free for the child. The breakfast for my child was a small fee of 1,582 yen (including tax). This fee is small compared to the restaurants around the shopping plaza.

There is scheduled free shuttle running between the East Hotel, West Hotel and the outlet. This is a good arrangement especially when it was raining heavily on the day we arrived. I like the view outside the window of the room. It’s a wood. Very beautiful. I think it would be really nice to go for a walk there on a sunny day. The breakfast is excellent. Not the buffet one. It’s a set meal in a western restaurant. Very good. Highly recommend. The staff are nice and helpful. No problem communicating in English.

The cottages were really cute and fun for families or groups of friends (2 bedrooms in 1 cottage). It would be very beautiful in winter/snowy season. As the east wing and cottages are slightly far from the shopping plaza and the station, the property provided free shuttle service when needed which was great. Staying so close to the largest shopping outlet plaza in Japan was really great! The deals were really good.

Property is old so there’s quite a bit of wear and tear, and looks dirtier than it is. Also note that each cottage only has 1 bathroom.

Spacious with lush gardens. And it’s so convenient with a big shopping mall carefully designed in order not to disturb the natural environment of the hotel area.

The staff should be take more initiative to introduce the summer activities of the hotel to the guest. We have missed the scenic lift ride to the mountain as we have no idea of that. And the hotel is not well catered for non Japanese speaking guests.
