Our double bedroom with private bathroom really exceeded our expectations. It was very cozy, comfortable, with a very spacious bathroom. We were lucky enough to have a great view of the main street while the room was still quiet. We especially loved the location in the shopping arcade, conveniently located close to everything with great bars and restaurants nearby. The hostel/hotel also has a shared kitchen with free tea and coffee and plenty of friendly people, as well as a very affordable laundromat.

The AC/heater was quite loud and disrupted my partner's sleep a little bit but I didn't have an issue with it.

Amazing location as it's right in the middle of Tanukikoji. Despite heavy snowfall, I was able to walk to Sapporo Factory, Odori Park, TV Tower, and did a fair bit of exploring around the area (just make sure you have waterproof boots). There's also a nearby streetcar station if you want to go to Mount Moiwa. I especially loved the sink in my private room. They provide hand soap, sanitizer, a hair dryer, a towel (which you can change every day for free), and a hanger. Also loved the common room with its free coffee and tea! Everything was super clean.

The private room is tiny, barely any room for luggage. It didn't bother me but your mileage may vary. The pillow was also a little flat but again that wasn't an issue for me.

The location is superb, right in the middle of Tanukikoji. You can also walk-through underground walkway from the Sapporo station, so only need to be outside for 1 block or so (I only knew after 3 days staying there). Also, the airport bus stop is right in the corner. So, travelers to/from Sapporo station and CTS can access this property easily. The common room is very comfortable, my sons liked to play there (sorry if we disturbed some of other guests). They also provide a full kitchen for the guests to use. Free coffee and tea. I stayed at the Japanese room with 4 futons, as expected, it is quite tight, but after figure things out, we can fit 4 beds and suitcases well. Temperature is good in winter, with nice blind that can block or not-block the light (first time I saw this kind blind, so fascinating).

As explained before booking, the lift only goes up to 7th floor. The stair to 8th floor (where my room at) is so small to carry a big suitcase. There were no cleaning also during our stay (I didn't remember if they wrote it somewhere, but I only knew when I checked in), although they accommodate towel change.

Booked a cabine in the female dorm. The hotel was very clean, very well equiped for such a cheap price! The common areas are very homey, there's a kitchen to use, a tv, couches, a free coffee machine. Perfect if you are travelling alone! The hotel is also very well located. I ended up booking an extra night there, very easily. Nothing negative to say, really recommend to anyone travelling on a budget or not needing anything fancy!

Very clean and wonderful location right in the middle of Tanuki Koji shopping area. The bed was very comfortable compared to other hostels, and the price is very reasonable. Comes with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in the shower.

For some reason many guests were loud in this hotel. A woman was talking loudly on her phone at midnight. Another night someone's phone alarm went off at 5am for 30 minutes because she was in the shower. It's not the hotel's fault, but just a fair warning for any light sleepers.

Located in the Tanukikoji Shopping street, you will be right in the center. Close by is the entrance to the subway station/underground shopping mall (Odori and Susukino are accessible from here) as well as the tram station. So even with bad weather you don't have to worry about getting around. The street offers a great variety of shops: souvenir shops, grocery stores, games centers, animal cafes, restaurants etc. and major sightseeing spots like the Clock Tower or TV Tower and Ramen Yokocho are just 10-15 minutes walking distance away. The hostel also offers washing machines and dryers, and you can buy detergent for a few yen. The room was clean and luckily the other guests were also very quiet. I booked the breakfast as well and it was a nice start into the day having the omelette smile at me! :)

My only complaint is that the pillow was really hard. I used my cardigan as cushion on top of it to have a comfortable sleep. It is just a personal preference though, other than that I was very happy with my stay.

Property was easy to get to via the subway and at a very central location. Rooms and facilities were also clean, even the showers and toilets. Despite it being winter, bath water and rooms were warm and I did not have to worry about the cold at all. Enough privacy was available in dormitory room as there are curtains available for every cubicle.

Slightly pricey for dorm room.

Grids Hotel Sapporo I had a very nice and pleasant stay in the Grids Hotel, which made my overall stay in Sapporo very comfortable. The location is very convenient, in Tanukikoji shopping street, close to the downtown and Odori park, and surrounded by many restaurants of various options. The hotel itself is so clean, the sleeping capsules are spacious, and they have a good ventilation system so the air is always refreshed. Guests stay in every other capsule and as an infection prevention policy, so you won’t have neighbours on your sides or up/down your capsule. The toilets and showers are always shining. They also have a warm, nice room and well equipped kitchen, with a free tea option all day. All these good services for a very reasonable price.

Everything was perfect, and there's nothing specifically that I didn't like.

common area for self dining is good, feel like family, and always maintain cleanliness. The room is small but can stay good enough, clean. Locate in Tanokikoji and lots of hotel nearby with various cost. Elevator till 7th floor, if you stay at 8th floor will not be good for big luggage.

Somtimes can smell grilled food from downstair restaurant.

Location was great, and the staff were very nice and helpful. Room was clean enough and you get a private sink in the loft rooms. The common area was big and comfortable.

Shower rooms and toilets on the loft rooms’ floor weren’t exactly the most convenient to use.
