Room is small, but suitcases fit under the desk and bed. Nice view of Tokyo Skytree in the distance. The staff are lovely and beautiful, and helped me when i lost my key to the rooms. Fluent in english. Staff very kind to my little daughter, the hotel gives kids their own cute amenity bag! (But only 1 per stay, we booked for 5 nights). Unfortunately no swimming pool, but there is a nice public bath, they are very warm. There is a coin laundry at ground level but the room is very hot! Location is great for ameyokocho and ueno park. I preferred this area for families than akihabara. Ueno station is a 10min walk away. There is a subway station entrance about 1 minute from the hotel entrance (stairs only) so may as well walk above ground. Ice machine on level 2, i wish there were more on other levels.

Check in starts too late. They have increased the price for late check out. Dont have option for half day booking, can only extend check out until 2pm Bed is basic, its ok, just not a good mattress. The sheets were not the most comfortable.

We really enjoyed staying here. The room quite small but cozy with view of Tokyo Skytree. We really appreciate that arrangement. We stayed here for 2 times because of the location was so handy. It was close to everything such as metro, JR, Shinkansen, Skyliner to Narita airport, Shopping street, Street food. We would love to come back and stay here again.

The A/C was controlled from the control room during winter time. It means, when you prefer the cool air you need to leave the window open through the night which it was ok for us, except noisy from the construction site start every 8am.

The hotel was clean, very convenient, helpful staff, very close to shopping, 7-11, restaurants and bars. Less than 5 minute walk to the train station and park. The room was small but worked perfectly for us. The bed, pillows and comforter were super comfortable, we had a queen size and the bed was plenty big enough for two Americans :-), there was a small desk, large tv, small fridge, deep bathtub. Robes were provided, towels, hair brush, tooth brushes with toothpaste, hair ties, cups, matcha tea powder, hair dryer, lotion, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors. Spa was very nice on the 15th floor, had a large bath outside with a small teacup style tub, large bath inside, several showers plus a western shower. No tattoos allowed but front desk provided tattoo covers/stickers. Vending machines available for drinks. Washing machine was on the first floor, 500 yen to wash, 100 yen at a time to dry. There are tons of restaurants and shopping practically out the front door. We loved this location, bullet trains were available at the station as well as a JR office that issued our rail pass. We didn't eat at the restaurant - it looked good peeking in. :-)

The only thing people might not like is the size of the room. There was a small space between the end of the bed and the wall with the tv, and a small space between the desk chair and the bed. This isn't a spacious room but for us, it was perfect for what we needed. We only used the room to sleep and get dressed. We would definitely stay here again. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Great location close to Ueno Station, Keisei Skyliner and Ameyoko Shopping area. Perfect location for exploring Tokyo and beyond. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, overall a great value stay.

The air conditioning cannot be adjusted, and on some days it was too warm and we needed to leave the windows open to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. This was not a problem for us as we stayed on the side of the building facing away from the main road and it was fairly quiet, however, it would not be so great on the highway-facing side of the building. Tip: Ask for a room with a view towards Skytree.

I really appreciate the convenience of staying at APA Hotels. Most of their locations are situated close to train stations, which makes getting around super easy. On top of that, they’re usually near mini markets, so it’s incredibly convenient if I want to grab a quick snack or something late at night. This combination of accessibility and convenience always makes my stay enjoyable and hassle-free.

The room size was smaller than I initially expected, but I realize that this is mostly due to different expectations. In countries like Indonesia and sometimes Thailand, you can get a much larger room for the same budget, so it’s just a matter of adjusting to local standards. Overall, it’s still perfectly fine, considering the price and location.

Loved the location. Clean. Good price

The initial girl said she at check in said she could speak English and then couldn't and got very agitated and keep saying 'no' to everything even though she didn't understand what was going on and then messed everything up. Another girl came out who was actually fluent came out to help and immediately understood the ask and cleared it up because it was initially such a small issue that the first girl blew up. Also its annoying that you HAVE to check in after 3pm in terms of processing your documentation even if you don't need to go up to a physical room because its annoying having to do it late at night after coming back from a full day of sightseeing instead of doing in prior and just grabbing a room key at night.

The rooms are a little small but ok for Tokyo. They have everything one needs. Towels and amenities such as toothbrush and instant coffee/tea are being restocked every day. The hotel is very clean and everyone was really nice. There is a western and a japanese style breakfast, I preferred the second. There was a variety to chose from in both styles. The Onsen was very nice, one pool inside, a small and a bigger one outside. A locker for your things in the changing room. They have four washing machines and four dryers, in the evening there are queues. We were able to store our luggage in the hotel after our Check-out to roam through the city a little more.

Love the onsen offered upstairs and little tub to soak in the open. Because it was an hotel with public bath, it fulfilled what I wanted. To soak myself everyday after long walks and travels. They are very generous with their towels and bath robes, toiletries. Even their shower gel smells so good that I decided to skip using my own.

The room is extremely small. Hardly any breathing space. It was really a room to shower, sleep and leave. Nothing else.

Very clean and comfortable. Lots of instructions provided. The staff is ready to help with any problem (except for the blanket, see below), they provided an adapter for the socket. We didn't use the spa. The room is quiet, the bed is comfortable. The location is very convenient - not far from Ueno station.

The room was very small, which is quite typical, but I can't overlook it. They don't provide a second blanket, and we barely fit under one - sleeping was uncomfortable. Very few options on the breakfast.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found the room to be quite comfortable and up to APA standards. It was clean, well-equipped, and provided a relaxing environment for a good night’s rest. Hotel is located near Ueno station, which is quite easy to travel from Narita airport to here.

The major drawback, however, was the check-in process. The self-check-in system took far too long, especially if you’re booking multiple rooms or traveling with a larger group. We had to scan our passports, fill in the address, and sign, which added unnecessary time and hassle to the process. It definitely needs significant improvement to make it more efficient and user-friendly.
