the room was cozy and liked the traditional experience. location was convenient to train stations. although we didn't get a chance to have breakfast we enjoyed our stay especially the onsen experience.

onsen reservations. two guests walked in when we were inside. there should be a sheet where guests fill it out and book a 1hr reservation or so and provide room number just in case they are taking forever.

This is a great ryokan to stay that's right in the center of Asakusa tourist area, suprisingly quiet despite the location and just a few minutes walk from the hub-bub of Senso-Ji and its environs. The place has a lovely vibe even though they've been operating for 80 years, you could tell they take great effort in maintaining it well. The staff's extremely lovely and professional, very helpful. The baths on 6th floor look wonderful (though we didn't have the time to enjoy it and just took a peek). Also, you can understand the cultural tidbits of your room and Japanese practices in an easy-to-read pamphlet and the information guide in your room, nice touch! Recommend the non-Western rooms if you can afford it.

It's a little on the pricey end (especially with no breakfast), but for the convenience and the fact that you get a solid Japanese feel and experience, I think it could be well worth it (dress in the yukata they provide you, or rent a full-on kimono, and those pictures inside the room pay for your money's worth. With the bedding (for two guests) laid out on the tatami, you have less space than what the pictures show (we got the Deluxe room) but still spacious enough considering it's Tokyo. Check-out time is also on the early side since you can only check in after 3 p.m., I wish they could have allowed check-out at 11 a.m.

It’s an amazing experience in a ryokan. Fantastic and kind stuff, spacious room with a tiny cute decorated balcony overlooking the street. Location couldn’t be better, just behind the corner from Nakamise-dori market street and Senso-ji temple. Great for exploring in early morning before it gets full of crowds. The onsen with a view on Tokyo Skytree and another on the pagoda couldn’t be better. They switch sides for men and woman so you can explore both views. Asakusa area became one of our favourite also thanks to the ryokan.

Nothing really to complain, maybe only steamy window in the cold weather in the onsen, so the view from the window was a bit challenging. But you just accept it.

Had heard specifically about this place from a number of different sources, including the Abroad in Japan YouTube channel. Honest review: great across the board. Location is insane. You're equidistant between Senso-ji and Kaminarimon Gate. Couldn't ask for more. Not only were the proprietors incredibly accommodating, but their kaiseki breakfasts were amazing. Just don't be late - they were kind enough to call my room with ten minutes to spare on my last day. Learn some rudimentary Japanese and they will show their appreciation with a genuineness I didn't find anywhere else in Tokyo. The rooms are only a touch out of step with time, with some of the furnishings noticeably showing their age - not in an unkempt way or anything, just a bit outdated. WiFi was perfectly serviceable, though. If you end up staying in a Japanese-style room, be mindful of how hard the floor will be under the futon, even with the tatami. Night one was a tad uncomfortable, but I was used to it by night two. Biggest win by far was the onsen. Whilst it probably isn't a true spring, it definitely does the job. Helpfully, since the entire place is small, you'll have a good chance of having an entire bath to yourself. The left-hand one was undergoing repairs whilat I was there, but the right-hand one was nevertheless excellent.

The location is exceptional, just off of the main shopping road towards the temple, lots of positive energy and fun things to do. The staff are really fun and considerate. I have read other reviews knocking the manner of the team here, complaining that they don't speak English, well this is Japan. Learning to speak some basic Japanese goes a long way here. The senior gentleman is like an old-school Basil Fawlty and really fun in a strange off the cuff way. We paid extra for breakfast which was traditional and delicious. There is a combination code to easily enter the hotel after hours. The room had soft and comfy futons and the onsen was really relaxing.

There was nothing that we didn't like about this experience.

the location of the ryokan was very close to the station and to street vendors which was very convenient. the room was also bigger than I expected which was good!

the male receptionist was quite rude which made asking him for help on little matters quite uncomfortable.

Location is super; on a quiet alley right of off the Asakusa Nakamise shopping street. Great Ryokan experience. Sensoji temple and Kaminarimon gate are two minutes walk away. Staff are super nice and strive to work above and beyond. Public bath on the top floor were super and has a nice view of the Tokyo sky tree. Roof top terrace with a city view was a bonus!

The walls are thin and sounds travelled. The sounds amplified especially when your neighbors decided to have wild nights in the Ryokan vs. a love hotel and I was sleeping on the tatami with my ears practically on the floor. The shoji screen doors to the main tatami room made lots of noise.

Great little Ryokan! Super well situated, very foreigner-friendly. Classic Ryokan feel (with lovely osen space!), with the ease & price point of a motel. Clean, safe, and very accommodating staff (we sent our luggage in advance via the wonderful Yamato and they took care of everything on their end), easy to get to via local trains, and of course very close to Senso-Ji and other attractions.

Honestly, not much. They didn't have any meal services, which could have been nice, and the room that we got was very small (basically the size of the king futon + a little more space), but honestly it was perfect for our needs.

While a bit small compared to a standard hotel, being able to stay in a ryokan that was within two minutes walking distance from Sensouji was an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff were particularly nice, being very patient and willing to wait while I used my poor Japanese to check-in.

Being used to larger laundry machines in the west, it was a bit of a shock just how small their washing/dryer machines were. In particular, I ended up needing to run my laundry through the dryer three times for it to fully dry which ended up being pretty expensive. Not particularly a negative for them, but something that was good to find out.

the location is superb, right next to nakamise shopping street and Sensoji temple. the room was spacious (i think we booked the suite) for 2 adults and 2 children, they also provided kids pillows which my kids loved. there was also a bathtub in the bathroom which we didnt expect. thankfully, there was also a public onsen on the top floor and a lift in the hotel :)

the owner has an exceptional attitude and would not attend to any special requests such as to assist in booking for airport taxi (and asked us to flag a cab at the main street) or remove fish for breakfast (we wanted a vegetarian meal) and that it was impossible to remove the fish and charge the same. in the end, we ate breakfast at mcdonalds which was just a 2 mins away. you would need to be very quiet as well (which is generally the japanese way of life) so although its challenging to keep 2 kids quiet, it does provide a peaceful stay.
