Location, stone throws away from the heart of Shibuya and less than 10 minute walk to Harajuku! Views of Tokyo were incredible. I was nervous about mixed reviews, but any "inconvenience' is outweighed by location, facilities at miyashita and staff at front desk, especially Connor who was super helpful. Yes the trains are loud, and sometimes ambulances at odd hours of the night however it adds to the experience of being in an urban city (we are a family with young child, she slept through it all). Yes the self check in tablets are not counter intuitive, however the staff and management have clearly reviewed practices and are there to assist/guide you through it. I'd like to call out Connor who was exceptionally helpful at both check in/check out and informative about our Yamato bag delivery, which made for a great customer experience. Yes there are many ways to access the hotel via miyashita, we loved this aspect. Yes the rooms are dark and moody, makes for an urban/eclectic vibe.. downside is that any spec of dust is visible against the dark carpet. Yes the rooms are turned every 2 days, however, it's clearly advertised on booking sites, so no surprises. We asked a cleaner to pick up excess trash on the odd days and that was all we needed. We booked the large twin room, which was perfect for a family of 3. Even 4. Given space is a premium in Tokyo and many similar urban cities, this far exceeded our expectations.
Would be nice to have a few more lights or lamps in the room as it is quite dark.

Sequence feels cool and modern and a bit like the Ace or Standard Hotels. I enjoyed an excellent 12-night stay by myself in a twin-room. Staff were very helpful with all my needs, from check-in to holding items at the front desk. Room was large by Tokyo standards with expansive views and good blackout curtains (I'm glad I booked the twin, as basic single rooms are indeed very tiny from what I saw first-hand during cleaning). Beds are firm, as typical with Japan, but comfortable. Good amount of storage in cubbies and small closet. I thought the hotel would be noisier, as it caters to a younger crowd (think late 20s-early 40s), but my room was dead silent all 12 nights. The hotel was less crowded than usual, being winter, but I was still surprised at how quiet the place was. Bathroom was great. No tub, but shower has a nice sliding door to keep water contained and the rain shower head was terrific with excellent heat and water pressure. There's also an adjustable hand-held shower head too. Toilet, as expected, is a very nice bidet Toto. Cafe on the lobby floor is very cool and a nice place to work or take a meeting in the morning, though it does get busy by late morning and it's packed all afternoon. Also, if you purchase a reusable coffee cup (I think for about 500-600 yen, as it's 50% off for hotel guests), drip coffee is free for the rest of your stay with unlimited refills! Restaurant on the 5th floor was also quite good. Classy and tasty spot while still casual. No tea or coffee provided in the room, but a nice electric kettle was available upon request and I made good use of it during my stay. Mini fridge was useful too. No mini bar items - just use for cold storage. Location is very good. Under 10 minutes to Shibuya station on foot. Two FamilyMart locations very close as well for all your 24-hr konbini needs. So much good food close by. Overall, tons of good things to say about Sequence.
I really wish the room had a small desk. There's nowhere to work or eat except by sitting on the bed or the low cabinet by the window. There's a tiny side table you can use, but it's very small and not very practical. Also, I ended up using this side table as my nightstand. In retrospect, I could probably have asked the staff for a second small side table. Others have complained about the train sound, but honestly, after a night or two it didn't bother me at all. Also, the trains don't run all night in Tokyo. With a little white noise or earplugs, I couldn't hear it. I slept well here.

Amazing location! Right in the heart of Shibuya. There is a park accessible as part of the hotel - fantastic place to let toddlers run around to burn some energy. The room was small, but the wide open window made it feel larger. Had a beautiful view of Shibuya and Miyashita park. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place purely for its location and views.
Very hard to access the hotel, as its entrance is located on the corner of a busy street. Our taxi driver dropped us off at the corner and we had to carry our luggage over barriers - which was a struggle as we had a toddler with us. So just be mindful of this if you are travelling heavy. Theres alternative ways to get to the entrance, which works well if you are travelling light.

Great location, it's a short 5-10min walk from Shibuya JR Station and the subway. A lot of shops and food options within the Miyashita Park complex, plus always something interesting happening at the park itself. Great cafe inside the hotel. Rooms are modern, comfortable beds and clean. Great to have a park view as well. The staff were also very attentive and friendly, and assisted whenever we needed help.
Laundry is the only downside, only 2x laundry machines (washer and dryer combined) available in the hotel. It was challenging when these were constantly occupied and being able to use them was based on luck and timing. Sometimes other guests would leave their laundry in the machine well past the cycle end time which was troublesome, fortunately we notified the staff about this who managed it very efficiently. It would be helpful to have more machines available.

Halfway between Shibuya crossing and Harajuku, this hotel is close to good restaurants and shops in both districts. The room with a bunk bed is compact yet well designed, featuring a surprising amount of amenities that make the most of the space. The restaurant and cleaning staffs are friendly. The Miyashita Park below adds to a great atmosphere, very convenient and popular for both locals and tourists.
Don’t expect to get much sleep before midnight, as Shibuya’s nightlife keeps the area active. While the windows block most train noise, advertising, and car broadcasts, the bass from the club below can still be heard

Modern and clean. Beds were comfortable. Fair location above shops and restaurants, but is about 10 min walk from everything else (train station, other department stores, main eating strip).
Room is very small and I could not open my suitcase fully on the floor, but that is to be expected for the location and price. Room lighting was strange, there was no light in the centre of the room. Lights were at the entrance only, but this was generally ok as the room is very small. Housekeeping were a bit annoying as there wasn’t a ‘please clean my room sign’ and they did not monitor when you leave your room (like other hotels do), so they had to knock on the door and ask, then had to come back after cleaning and fiddle with some schedule on the tv. There are minimal amenities (eg no face wash, make up remover, creams) that you normally get at other hotels. They only provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

I loved that the hotel was always lively but not noisy or crowded. I loved that our rooms had a city view and the location of the hotel was perfect for our trip. I also enjoyed the aesthetic and layout of the room. The hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful!! I also love that they can hold our luggage’s before and after check in, I also loved that they provided toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and Q-tips for free for clients. I also LOVED that check out was at 2pm. It was perfect timing for me, I don’t feel rushed to leave the room.
The rooms are small. It’s a bed for two but the space is for one person. All hotels in Japan are small though so this isn't a problem from the hotel specifically but rather a Japan custom. The space was enough for one person but anyone more then that and you WILL struggle with the luggages.

The proximity to Shibuya station was great and also close to great food and shopping options, especially if you walk down to Harajuku in 15mins! The breakfast is freshly prepared and adequate and the staff are very courteous and helpful. The location was close to the famous crossing but not in the midst of the crowds and noise but still very accessible if you want to go out and return midday to drop off your shopping haha!
Please be mindful of room size it’s just about sufficient for a couple but if you’re conscious of personal space it may not work for you as the toilet is literally behind a sliding door next to your bed and the shower is an all glass partition facing a mirror haha

Room size was amazing. We had space to lay our suitcases and still be able to comfortably walk around the beds. The room was quite fresh and modern. Location was fantastic as many of the popular tourist attractions were in very close walking distance. Shibuya Station was only a 5 min walk away and very easy to travel to other cities nearby. Plenty of amazing restaurants and shops around. Definitely recommend staying here!
Pillows were extremely hard so would have been good to have a second option. Only other downside is two washing machines for the whole hotel. The laundry facility was directly across from our room on level 7. As the laundry facility was open 24/7, people sat outside our door on the phone or talking to their family etc quite late at night/early in the morning waiting for others washing to finish so this was quite frustrating.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, they speak good English and are keen to help with anything! I even asked for bubble wrap, which they gave me with tape and scissors! The location is also fabulous, on an interesting public rooftop park.
For the price we paid I expected a bit more. Rooms are very small and basic. There is no space for big luggages, or anywhere to sit apart from the bed. We wanted to go to the rooftop bar but it was closed off for a private event, that was also a real shame. To us it didn’t feel like a premium hotel- it was expensive but didn’t feel worth the extra expense.
