There is plenty of parking available, although it can get a little busy at times. Our room size was massive if a bit dated in places. We were in the old original part of the hotel though which had larger rooms. There is a separate more modern section with a leisure centre and swimming pool.

If driving and using the sat nav, just watch out if arriving during the day. The postcode of the hotel is in the centre of town which is a pedestrian zone during the day. Best follow the signs for the Angel Hotel as you approach the outside of town and ignore the sat nav. The car park is around that way anyway.

This is an old coaching inn that has been sympathetically extended and modernized so felt fresh and comfortable. The courtyard garden wAs very pleasant and our room, a family room was large, clean and comfortable and overlooked the garden. A modern glass extension housed the pool in one side of the courtyard and free parking at the back. Nice breakfast with a range of self service options

Pool is quite small and was used by local gym club members so was very busy at certain times. Breakfast needed more continental choices of cold meats And cheese usually offered elsewhere

It was nice to have a place to park our car without an extra fee. The hotel has a lovely garden area which made it seem less in a busy area. It was close to every place we wanted to walk to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they kept our luggage for us until the rooms were ready. Since it was raining, this was a great benefit. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Please explain to first time travelers that the room card needs to go into the white box for the electricity to work. We had not seen this before and did not know until two hotels later!! It was a chilly night so we were a bit cold because we couldn't turn up the heat. Everything else was wonderful!

The hotel is an attractive old coach house. The rooms looked relatively recently decorated so was a nice place to stay and both the room and bathroom were really clean. The pool is a little small if you want to properly swim but it's fine for a family splash around, my kids had lots of fun in the pool. The breakfast was nicely set out and the staff were friendly. We were meeting friends for dinner in Chippenham that night and then climbing at The Arc the next day, so the location was really convenient for us.

Not a big thing, but we asked for our two rooms to be next to each other and although we were given 206 & 207, they were in separate corridors. The staff were helpful so I'm sure they would have changed our rooms if we had asked, but as soon as the kids saw the rooms they didn't want to change to another.

Very convenient for town and theatre (the purpose of our visit) Very welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely interior with seating areas and some nice vintage furniture. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Good bathroom, nice towels and plenty of room for toiletries etc

There are no lifts, our room was 3 flights of stairs, I didn't ask for a more convenient room so no fault of the hotel, but maybe if you have creaky knees or a minor issue which makes stairs difficult, ask for a lower floor room. Sash windows in room are a bit grubby. Breakfast was adequate but little choice. included in price, so pretty cheap all together. We didn't have dinner but menu looked good

Very good location, large parking, nice pool, good breakfast. Room spacious, comfortable and nice. In general, we liked the hotel except for a few things. Hotel and location very good. We will be happy to come back if we are looking for accommodation in Chippenham.

First of all, I ordered a room with a bath, the reception confirmed that I get one. It was a massive disappointment to have only a shower. I prepared bath salts, masks, etc. to enjoy evening relaxation with my partner, which failed. The ceiling in the bathroom requires painting, stains and mold, pool facilities very tight. We were also denied a drink at the bar because we were too late, the bar was still open and there were guests, but only room service was possible at 10.10pm.

I love the quaint feel to the hotel and it being a cosy old hotel. It had character. We stayed in the house. The reception staff were friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. It had a lovely Christmas feel.

We did find the restaurant staff to be a bit hit and miss. By this I mean we were forgotten at one point one even and ignored. Starter was also brought out with the main course. Secondly the menu was very poor for vegan. Sunday morning's breakfast was poor. They had run out of juice and when question I stot down by a male member of staff. They had no pasties that morning and a lot of the hot food was contaminated with other items. There was no supervisioning. It was also a bit hit and miss if you got hygiene products restocked from housekeeping even though the room was asked to be made up.

I took my children away for a short post Christmas break. I found the hotel really charming and welcoming. The location was excellent and the town had a variety of shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. We didn't eat at the hotel but the bar area was lovely. My kids really enjoyed the pool too. I also hadn't realised I had left my purse at the hotel and received a call about it after I returned home. Such honest and helpful staff who have arranged to return it.

Areas for improvement I would say is the pool area could have been cleaner, particularly around the drain areas. The addition of lounge chair cushions and a bit of decor would also have been nice and having a sauna or steam room would have been great! but it's not billed as a spa hotel so can't have everything but that would have been wonderful to relax in. Also we found the menu very limiting and breakfast cost quite high so chose not to eat at the hotel.

Fantastic sized family room at a great price. We really enjoyed using the pool which was very quiet. Breakfast was good too. The staff were very friendly.

The changing rooms by the pool very much need upgrading. The showers by the pool were cold, decor very tired. We came back to our room to shower and change instead. I had a few bits on me after swimming in the pool which made me wonder if a child’s nappy might have leaked from someone swimming earlier in the day - hard to know. Would have been great to have towels on offer by the pool and gym. The evening menu in the restaurant was quite pricey for what it was. Our room had a bit of mould round the windows as better ventilation was needed (better fan in the bathroom maybe?).

Right in the heart of the town, this lovely old building is in fantastic condition and many of the rooms are in annexes off a central Courtyard. The room had two comfy beds, a soft chair and a desk and chair. Large 42in TV lots of USB and normal sockets, and was incredibly clean. Hairdryer, iron and board, safe, extra fan heater, kettle and tea & coffee, and soft fluffy towels. The bathroom looked new and had a huge shower, with two heads and a light up heated mirror. These is also a swimming pool and gym area for use, a bar and restaurant area. Breakfast was lovely, good quality and large selection of both full English and continental styles. Will stay again.
